As far as I remember this tried to be Jet Set radio but with Tony Hawk-esque controls and no original ideas whatsoever. However, while the soundtrack sometimes sounds like a huge Jet Set knock-off aswell, it still is a pretty dope mix. There's an upload on UA-cam people might want to check out.
I used to have this game when I was a lot younger! It looks a lot more fun than it plays, by the time it got up to the drones I legitimately ended up just straight up intentionally destroying the disc lmao
No joke this is my favorite skateboarding game on ps2 (Yes, outside of thps4 I have all the TH games and completed them all). Bought it a good 2 months ago and completed it in 3 sittings. You can literally scale buildings by wall riding from one wall to another, the sens of scale is great (thanks to it's emphasize on vertical gameplay (especially in the last level) and if you like score attack in your skateboarding game this is a must play 100%. Game on a budget done right. The blue coins unlock new characters with better stats that are instantly noticeable (more air, speed, balance, adrenaline, etc). And sorry but the drone being impossible to control is on you, man. You can slow time for the whole duration when on a drone and you need to keep your energy in mind, going upward on a 90° angle will naturally slow you down to a halt. Then again I always steer inverted. Is there a actual arcade skateboarding game you do like? (no offence, I love your channel)
Some people like shit (and weebs eat up everything that looks remotely anime) and others have higher quality standards. RadRat seemingly falls in the latter category as the game really is a very mediocre game, with lots of flaws and nearly no redeeming qualities.
Yeah i get it BUT i Played the wii Version and everything was motion Controll Based, it got so down that i could nicht reach lvl2 and played it at least a couple hours
Tony Hawks American sk8tland and proving ground for the Nintendo DS are suprisingly good and I dont think anyones covered them heavily. You can probably knock em both out in one vid though. They are kinda the same.
Oh man, i have my notifications on for RadRat and I always get so stoked for the rad rat videos... just not the video game reviews. All good, I’ll be back for the next one. You’re the man RadRat. 👍🏼
I remember that game for the PSP. It can be pretty solid at times and then fall off a cliff. It feels like it was going to be some sort of tie-in to a TV show for kids but it never materialized so it became this instead. Not a fun time, to be honest. Now that I think of it, I think they have some stages afterwards, like one that is in a factory and it gets worse. Much worse.
You're right, the first few minutes of game footage I was like 'this actually seems kind of good" but then you saved us all the trouble of trying by telling us all the flaws. Hot tub metaphor was great btw.
Man what sucks most is that the concept of this really had potential, imagine if they did this right and it sold really well, that would have influenced for more imaginitive skateboarding games imo
Woohooo Disco Platform - Carefully choose an absolutely gorgeous scenic location. Lay out your chosen decking pallets in any desired formation, get creative, and cover with something other than cardboard sheets. Slap some scrap boards to the sides of your platform and make it into a tray. Add a couple lengths of your favourite neighbours wire fencing to the top. Mix up a couple bags of cement with a couple buckets or so of sand, whatever, and pour on top. Add Gravel to Level. Let set, and do the thing with the tool. Leave to cure and.........Crank it up, turn on the lights, and dance like there's no tomorrow woohoooo!
i think that this game, tather than being a tony hawk ripoff, though that is kind of the end result here, is trying to capitalize moreso off of jet set radio
I got this game a few months ago on impluse, and i didn't get past the first mission because in my opinion if you do too many tricks it gets impossibly fast
I remember I got this game as a kid in a bargain bin at a store called the reject shop which is just a dollar store type place and i only played it once for some reason
Ok i need help my cousin had a game for his ps2 around 2008 from a rental store all i remember was a character named jacko yes it was a skating game if any one knows what the games name was pls let me know
This does have some real charm to it though. Just looking at it I can tell if I was some gullible little kid that just got this as one of my very few video games for the year, I would've played it a bunch.
I strongly disagree the ps2 version was the first version of the game the Wii version is pretty good in my opinion also the story kinda sucks but the free skate is fine also the Wii version is made by ZOO
It took me awhile and after a lot of perseverance I completed this game. Sure it wasn't a great game but I don't think it was THAT bad haha. More polish and I think this game could of been something special. The later levels do get pretty frustrating though!
Wow! This games levels look identical to some of the levels in jet set radio future on Xbox and with the cel shading it makes it look even more identical. I love the look but I feel this game took a lot from the jet grind radio series but with skateboards
I don't really watch all of ur videos. But I like what you are doing. And you seem to be a nice and smart guys. Ift that's not too gay to say, I like you ;)
angryhobo212 I think it’s great that a game as terrible as that actually had net positive impact on gamers. Thanks to Supes 64, In 2019 no one thinks a game should require flying through rings.
OMG YESS DIDNT SEE THE VID YET BUT I LOOOVED THIS GAME AS A KID!!!! Edit: yea it might be terrible, so what. Still love it xD i also love my ugly children :D

Honestly this doesn't look too bad. Giving me Jet Set Radio/Airblade vibes.
cheapshot777 Airblade wasn’t good

Eric Donohue some of these game reviews give me a laugh, even though I originally came here for the more informational subjects.

I find the game is much better on the PSP. It feels it suits it better, plus has additional levels.
r1 sounds like a way better grind button
if this had more care it could have helped fill the hole jsr left

What if it was the arkham combat + tony hawk gameplay, that would seem really fun
4:40 I'm guessing they got that from the Sonic games.
Are you ever gonna interested reviewing jet set radio in the future?
2:49 LMFAO!! That "Kickflip" didnt even flip tho Hahahaha wtf XD
4:26 wow, i've never seen a skateboarding game where they crucify a robot
Don't hate yourself so much!
Your life is not useless, you play the games we wouldn't play!
You know, the city in this game would be better off as a Thug Pro level.
There's more levels in the game
I think all you have to play left is Airblade for the PS2
I remember playing it on the bundled demo of PS2 and it was ok :D
I truly dig your channel; super professional. Subbed and I hope many more come.
You gotta play Jet Set Radio Future! I think you owe yourself a good game at this point lol

This sounds like a BOOTLEG Jet Set Radio Future with skateboarding and much less time put behind it 🤣🤣🤣

Hey I suggested this! Thank you for playing it :)

this game makes me want to go play Jet Set Radio Future which is less Tony Hawk style and more straightforward platformer that you can do tricks in.
Jokes on you i just spent 50 mins trying to remember this game and its name thank you
This game looks like a Fifth Element fever dream
If they remade this game keeping basically everything the same but fixing problems would it be good
They kinda did the Wii version and PSP version fix somethings
