Sometimes Jingles will just laugh his ass off at something that I don't find that funny but he continues laughing and before you know it I'm laughing too and I can't stop till he stops. Oh Jingles don't ever change.
I discovered this game 1 week ago and lost several games in a row until I started watching this channel. The great thing about this guy is he tells you everything he is thinking. I went from losing every game to winning most games thanks to your insights! Great Channel!
"Then I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits. And she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck. Or um... possibly even a recreational vehicle, and drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?" "Yes." "No papers?" "No papers. State to state."
Speaking of the North Carolina being a beautiful ship, I had a chance to visit it this summer. Not only is she amazing, but also it's a credit to how well Wargaming has done replicating the ships. I've played the NC on the test server (I'm working my way up to it on the live), and she looks exactly like the real thing. I'd love to invite you to come see it ... and it's also (relatively) close to the AAF Tank Museum in Danville, Virginia.
My second favorite battleship behind the Missouri and New Jersey! Such a beauty! Had it been built, the Yamato would’ve been running crying for its momma! LOL!
Montana is different but not so weak. Kurfürst has more armor and bigger guns, but less accurate, so you've got to get close to do damage. Yamato is of course the king of penetration, but is is the slowest of the three. Montana has the better anti aircraft suite of the three. I put Montana on par with Kurfürst in the hands a good player for different reasons. Montana would be the cruisers absolute nightmare where Yamato is more efficient against battleships. Kurfürst in the DD wet dream as well as nightmare because of its size and hydro acoustic search consumable and secondaries. In terms of brawl, Montana can deliver quite a punch but its secondaries are weak, for sure.
Based on server wide results, the Montana is by far the weakest of the T10 battleships with the lowest win rate, average damage and average experience. Having the most guns is great, but when you dont have the armor to tank shots like the other BBs then you dont get to keep firing the good guns for long
Kurfurst has better AA than Montana, FYI. All the Montana's AA DPS is at close range (3km) whereas the Kurfurst Has all of its DPS out at 7.2km. Basically, Torps get dropped on the Monty before the AA even fires at the planes, while the GK has shot down half the squadron before they get to you.
Most of the build is the same, and manual AA is not necessary. Even with the secondaries module and not the AA module, it still has better AA range with AFT/BFT than the Montana.
The high velocity shells of the iowa/montana actaully had a higher energy than the yamatos 18 inch guns thank to the barrels being longer, which resulted in the 16 inch shell being MUCH faster than the 18's.
Jingles thank you so much! Your videos always make me smile. I got rejected by a fraternity and was crying until I got a notification that you had uploaded a new video. You really made my day 😄
Well first the Cleveland was "balanced" and then they hit the Iowa and Montana with the same "balancing". The 16" 50s weapon systems (the longest serving capital guns with over 5 decades of service in the USN) and fire control systems were highly accurate. Developers during a Q&A were asked if they'd fix the incorrectly weakened citadel of the two BBs. They said no because "balance". I get balancing for an arcade shooter but when certain other nations ships are buffed because their historical accuracy, gun performance, and armor protection were sub par and those buffs surpass ships and or weapon systems that historically were superior (such as Iowa) then that gets old. I get they have an European and Russian player base to appeal to. Still disappointing though. Fun game to play in certain aspects.
TheMysticalAussie Ill have you know, I'm actually living in Montana. And only the east is barren, mountains and lakes everywhere else. Besides, Australia is far more desolate. You got that big ass desert accounting for 70% of your land.
Hello Admiral Jingles of HMS Pointless. I just wanted to say, on the off chance you ever read this, that as a loyal slave in the salt mines, that your vids make my day. Each day,mi wake up and watch your vids to make my day a fine one, despite my depressing life. Keep making vids and ignore the haters
At first I was like, what is this world of warships? Then I heard your soothing voice which kept me watching the video and made me like it haha :D I will download to check it out! Great video and tips also :D Gonna start from here!
*Pif pif pif pif "Hahaaaa little DD with your BB-guns here I come with my Badass 8" Cruiser Cannons" _"Bb guns huh?"_ *Bada-BOOOooooOOM* -.- ? o.0 ! O.O *!!!* _'You have been Sunk'_ "...WTF???" "WG!! Russian DDs OP, Nerf, Nerf NUUUURRRRRFFFFF!!!"
You might be contractually obligated to play the Space Battleship Yamato theme when it shows up, but I'M contractually obligated to go back and rewatch the series every time you do. Good grief that nostalgia.
i wish i could go to California and your the USS Iowa, being from Des Moines Iowa, it's cool to learn the ship's history. i have seen an in depth special your on here, but it's not the same as being there.
For the British battle cruisers they can be split into two lines similar to the Japanese destroyers, one would be considered heavy cruisers and the other the current tree for light cruisers
Just rewatching some of your older vids Jingles. I miss the days when citadels were this consistent :( Great game though. Monty is still one of my favorite BBs
Ya know, the Udaloi running into the Monty probably helped it turn to hide behind the island. Ran into the Monty’s stern and pushed it out slightly. So he didn’t just lay the smoke screen. He helped him to turn behind the island
One unnecessary weakness of the Montana is that its Citadel is modeled incorrectly. A portion of the hull that was never a part of the citadel historically is considered a part of the citadel in WoWS. The Iowa also shares this flaw, but not the North Carolina. For some reason, Wargaming in their infinite wisdom, see giving the Iowa and Monty a giant fucking weakness as somehow "balanced" (despite both having the lowest performance for their tier). Oh, Wargaming. You so silly . . .
Jingles the problem with Montana and to a lesser extent Iowa, is that almost all of the ships citadel is considered "Vital" which is why its so easy to citadel. Its bow bulkhead is too large and Yamato can overmatch it so easily
What people seem to forget about the Montana, Iowa, and North Carolina is that they have American 16 inch guns. Which means American super-heavy AP which can have frankly stupid amounts of penetration regardless of angling.
Been an youtube lurker for over five years. This is my first comment. Your videos rock. Have you considered getting into sportscasting? You've got a knack for commentary. Keep it up.
10:26 actually jingles, he's still spotted by aircraft, you can tell by the detected icon if you're not sure. (there's a plane there if you're spotted by aircraft)
Márk Szabó He commentates over these videos by the tiny preview window in a video editor apparently; that's why he mistakes a lot of (literally) small details.
the USS Monty was to be fitted with the 18" guns the navy was working on but the study they did on them suggested the 18" guns didnt do any more damage that the iowas 16" guns
hey jingles, or anyone that sees this, how can an iowa citadel another iowa from more than 10 km from the front?? cuz for some reason i did that thing and boy i was confused.
Noob question: How do you get those indicators showing whether you penned, overpenned or ricocheted. All I see is a "Main Battery Hit" ribbon with non indication of how effective the hit was.
THe guys who laied the smoke screen are LEGENDS I say we get him a lot of doubloons, I don't play wows but we should still reward him some how for helping good teammates
anyone here know that the Swiss have Merchant ships. since WW2. their "navy" is around 20 patrol boats for their lakes, heck if they have merchant shipping they could have atleast a few frigates some how.
The only acceptable Captain to have on this ship is Steven Seagal (Seagull), surely it would increase its credit income until it does really crappy straight to DVD Co-Op battles
ah ok, I've been looking this up for days and apparently some content is not released for American players. almost all premium ships are available on the EU store permanently but only like 6 are in the na store. Not sure why wargaming differentiates the regions.
I find it incredibly ironic that in World of Warships, "crossing the T" has the reverse effect that it does in real life. In real battleship duels, crossing another guy's T is a good plan, because then you can get all your turrets in the fight while he can't. But in WoWS, crossing a guy's T is a horrible idea, because then he's angled right to autobounce your shells, while you're showing broadside to every last one of his, begging for a citadel.
hey Jingles. what's your thoughts on if there was a real shooting match between the Montana and the Yamato. who would come out the victor?? that's of course if you take away the Montanas radar advantage
All other things being equal (player skill being the primary thing), the Montana is always going to get the first salvo off, Yama is too big. You pretty much spot her out of the gate. Given no islands for cover though, gotta be the Yamato I'd say. 7/10. She just hits too hard.
The Montana's radar advantage is the whole point. Allied radar was an overwhelming advantage, from the Battle of Britain right up to the Battle of the Surigao Strait. Without radar and relying on more primitive firing control, both battleships would've probably sunk or crippled each other in a case of mutual destruction.
Not to mention how accurate the NGFS system was / is (the Iowa's used the same actual gun control as they always did because it was basically unbeatable - they just feed it radar info from the newer sensors). If WOW's actually correctly modeled the accuracy of the system - it would be boring just to sit back at range and sink pretty much everything you fired at by hitting it with every round. I've heard gunners from the New Jersey talking about being able to aim at and score direct hits on moving vehicles many miles out to sea with the 16" guns during Vietnam ... and putting rounds thru doorways.
is it the weakest but it has the DPM. as long as you dont under estimate it then youll be fine to simply go bow on and take the beating from the front while you citadel the broadside
Wait a minute. So there is a swiss world of warships community?? And I thought i was like the lonely player of Switzerland. Thank you jingles!!!! @TheMightyJingles #therecanbeonlyone #themightyjingles
I really missed the "UCHUUU SENKAN YAAAMAAAATOOOOOO" hahahaha... I have the impression that the montana is a lot more accurate than yamato, even with 3 guns more looks like montana hits a lot more shots. I always thought the yamato was better because it's more powerful guns. But lately the kurfust apears to be the best, i recently saw a replay where a kurfust did 393 k damage!!! Looks like the kurfust is the middle term between the powerful guns of the yamato and the accuracy of the montana. The battleship replays are the best one Jingles. Love your videos.
Got caught out at fairly close ranges between a Yamato and a Kurfurst in my Montana the other day; just barely escaped without being damaged (killed) by Yamato, but in turning exposed broadside to Kurfurst, who promptly one-shotted me. May be only the 3rd time I've ever been completely one shotted (not detonated) in a BB since the beginning of the game. I've had a KA one shot my SC (while angled, crazily), and a Myogi one shot my Nikolai.
0:55 "Take that with a pinch of salt." Pushing for our own produce now are we? On that Roon. I remember a game in my Arizona. Cruiser showing broadside, I fire a full dozen. While my shells are airbourne someone else hit him and knocks him down to 4 HP. Then my salvo lands. Yaaaaaayyyyyy!!!
How do i record matcg from world of warships and can could you get unrecorded match cause i had one with my hakuryu with 5 kills and there were 3 DD chasing me gearing,shimakaze,Z-46 (i think thats what its called) and since i was in a location where there so many island it was even hard for those 3 DD to sink me especially when i could reload my torp squad so fast, i think i sink all 3 in 2.30, 3:00 or maybe 4:00 but probably in 3 minute cause shima couldnt speed up fast, gearing also had to eat my torp unless he wants to hit a island and the Z-46 hit a flat island that has a runway i forgot whats the map but i couldve won the game if i wasn't too stupid to aim for bismarck cause he had 4k HP but i aim for midway cause he had no more high AA defense and only has part of the hp but what i didnt know was that he was hiding his fighter i thought the fighter he had was all shot down cause in 10 minute there wasnt no fighter in the sky but that probably explains that he has no high AA defense anyways could i actuaully get the match that was not recorded to recorded my bet is no in also lucky to get 5 kills and 145k dmg
Couldve bin 2 minute cause aiming those 3 DD was way to easy for me cause the island help me and force them to either eat torp or ram the island. Never chase a hakuryu as a DD
Another reason people don't like the Montana is having that 4th turret is more of a weakness since you need to unangle your ship more to be able to fire all 4 of them.
One would argue popularity If it wasn't for people fanboying over the Yamato and the Bismarck as well, which ARE better ships than their USN counterparts
gameplay purposes. They try to make each ship class in each tier worthy of using by giving each ship some combination of strengths and weaknesses that you can form a play strategy with. It's not 100% perfect balance but it's close. No point in making 200 different ships to use if only 50 of them or so are even worth playing with.
Battleships pushing aggressively? DDs smoking up their allies? Cruisers staying close enough to give effective support? What sorcery is this!?
hmm... _it must have been staged_
lol
That driveby smoke screen was awesome
*sailby... I'll let myself out.
I push aggressively AF in a WYOMING CLASS BATTLESHIP. If that doesn’t say you have balls of steel I don’t know what does.
Sometimes Jingles will just laugh his ass off at something that I don't find that funny but he continues laughing and before you know it I'm laughing too and I can't stop till he stops. Oh Jingles don't ever change.
Flambass jingles laughing is a very contagious illness 😂
That Udaloi was in his FIRST BLOODY MATCH AS THE Uda...he was stock, yet he absolutely demolished expectations of him by saving Tyrael...
I want to be like that udaloi when I grow up, or get my high tier russian destroyers.
They are about to be nerfed again, so you should hurry..
I discovered this game 1 week ago and lost several games in a row until I started watching this channel. The great thing about this guy is he tells you everything he is thinking. I went from losing every game to winning most games thanks to your insights! Great Channel!
what i like most about your vids is that it shows that the most important factor in winning is the player, more so than the ship
Our warships can't repel firepower of that magnitude!
"Then I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits. And she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck. Or um... possibly even a recreational vehicle, and drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?"

My second favorite battleship behind the Missouri and New Jersey! Such a beauty! Had it been built, the Yamato would’ve been running crying for its momma! LOL!

Gotta love those rockstar teammates.
No matter what people think, said, criticise, the Mighty Montana is a great battleship, the Power the crumble of the guns are awesome.
Please to note, Admiral, that 13:05 forward, that's a WOWS model of the world-famous Mont St. Michel off the bow, in brownish.

Damn. lol. Never thought the Montana had a beast mode
Mammoth Mk3 LOL That can be said for any ship in the game
It’s refreshing to see a team NOT snatching defeat from the jaws of victory for once.

One unnecessary weakness of the Montana is that its Citadel is modeled incorrectly. Jingles the problem with Montana and to a lesser extent Iowa, is that almost all of the ships citadel is considered "Vital" which is why its so easy to citadel. Its bow bulkhead is too large and Yamato can overmatch it so easily

Oh, I see now. Let's be honest though, it wouldn't really be jingles if every detail of a video was spot on :)
I have read somewhere that the Montana would have had a stronger broadside than the Yamato due to that fourth turret
the USS Monty was to be fitted with the 18" guns the navy was working on but the study they did on them suggested the 18" guns didnt do any more damage that the iowas 16" guns
great replay
miss the war thunder realistic air fights replays but warships and tanks r still great
hey jingles, or anyone that sees this, how can an iowa citadel another iowa from more than 10 km from the front?? cuz for some reason i did that thing and boy i was confused.
High above water citadel
Nightdare from the bow of the ship? cuz my shells landed on his bow close to the main turrets…… nah i might have just hit the barbette straight on.
That destroyer is awesomeness!
Noob question: How do you get those indicators showing whether you penned, overpenned or ricocheted. All I see is a "Main Battery Hit" ribbon with non indication of how effective the hit was.
Sir Jingles your commentary is the best man! lol!!!!!

Is the USS MONTANA larger than the USS IOWA?
Jingles, I can't wait for your advice on the new captain skills with advices and demo.
Yea for the Montana which is where I am from by the way. Too bad it was never built only the hull laid down.
I find it incredibly ironic that in World of Warships, "crossing the T" has the reverse effect that it does in real life. So what's the name of the ditty Jingles plays every time we see the Yammy?
is it the weakest but it has the DPM. as long as you dont under estimate it then youll be fine to simply go bow on and take the beating from the front while you citadel the broadside

Match*
"My bet is no *AND* also *I* was lucky to get" my mistake on that
Couldve bin 2 minute cause aiming those 3 DD was way to easy for me cause the island help me and force them to either eat torp or ram the island.
Never chase a hakuryu as a DD
bloody trackless tanks agian, geesh!
Another reason people don't like the Montana is having that 4th turret is more of a weakness since you need to unangle your ship more to be able to fire all 4 of them.
that atago he killed showed up as an arp takao in the damage screen. lol
Seriously, why is the Iowa, most advanced BB ever built and the Montana its intended successor nerfed so hard in WoWs?
One would argue popularity
If it wasn't for people fanboying over the Yamato and the Bismarck as well, which ARE better ships than their USN counterparts
HMS Vanguard is up there
gameplay purposes. They try to make each ship class in each tier worthy of using by giving each ship some combination of strengths and weaknesses that you can form a play strategy with. It's not 100% perfect balance but it's close. No point in making 200 different ships to use if only 50 of them or so are even worth playing with.
@@Nightdare the bismarck isnt better than the usn counterparts and the yamato is arguable
@@Nightdare Iowa is THE best battleship.
Bismarck didn't use the all or nothing armour scheme its overrated.
What mod does you use jingles ? to use dmg in game and reload of torpedoes. Thanks
These are all options in the base game not mods. Check the options menu there are extended UI options in the gameplay menu
Ahh, found it. thank you
Tyrael upgraded from a magic sword to 16" guns. A wise choice.
Why will the montana not overmatch? How do the overmathc mechanics work in WoWs?
what is that yamato song
@Jingles - will you be making a video about the WoT sandbox server / the changes they are considering?
I have my monty, and I absolutely love it. monty has 14 mm smaller caliber guns than the kurfurst yet they do the same damage
