      @@TheShopMiniRChi I have the red cat 1/10th scale ridge runner and I have done a bunch of mods to it and I have this jump when I give it throttle forward and reverse why does it do that and how do I get it to stop, without breaking my bank account? I’ve done things to make it better and it’s running great . I do things a little at a time you know when I see things on your channel. I replace the drive line front and rear on my 1/8 scale red cat ascent cuz they were plastic and it does ad a little more weight to the bottom of it, and put my battery up front above the front wheels to give it a little more weight up front so it don’t flip over backwards so much. It has a little platform up there to put whatever you want on there. I’m planning to get done different tires and wheels on it next, and maybe some brass disk brakes and some brass hex deals for the wheels to set on, well you know what I mean. lol!! Anyway I love how deep you go with your videos cuz I earn a lot from that. I wouldn’t have known to take apart the covers on all the diffs and portals and check for grease if I haven’t had watched your videos. Well take care and I’ll be waiting to hear from you on that jumping forward on my bigger truck I was telling you about ok 10-4 over and out. ……… Brian.

      @@brianferguson7466 if your truck is lurching forward, it could be binding some where or you might need to tune your esc. Or you might need to adjust things in your remote (throttle curve or just plain calibrating your throttle end points.)

    Thanks Ken! Sure wish Redcat would do this rig but at SCX24 scale!!!! IMO, Axial and others schit the bed with 1/24th RTR's because they were leaning too far to toy grade. This looks to perform very well enough that it could be taken to a local comp or fun crawl gathering and not be useless. Nothing dissuades folks more than disappointment and not being able to joint in the fun without being and expert or rich. The SCX24 is just to compromised. 24th scale is such an awesome, take everywhere size and run inside the home to boot. Should be so much more than it is. Fingers crossed Redcat jumps in and breathes new life into 24th scale!

    I keep saying your deep dives are good. keep them going; these are the only thorough ones I can ever find.
    Things I'd love to discuss: does the CMS with that geometry and the lowered motor really perform better than the soa you could get with the original ascent that you can also add a fusion to?
    is it still a reverse mullet? is that panhard preventing driver side full compression compared to passenger?

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  3 місяці тому

      So, I dont have the original ascent, so I dont know if the 4 link w/ SOA is better than this setup. I assume it would be slightly better with the weight of the servo on the axle. But, depending on the cop rules or class, you would get more points for going CMS... some also just prefer the "scale" aspect of CMS
      Adding the Fusion SE is $80, plus what ever it costs to 4 link and convert to SOA.
      Its all portals if that's what you are asking about the "reverse mullet". No straight axle so no mullet. The panhard doesn't touch at all. You get full compression

    been looking at all your videos!!
    I just got the new ascent fusion got injora aluminum beadlocks and im gonna be running the stock tires that come on the ascent they are 4.75 OD and i got both silicone inserts from injora the blues and greens
    Now i cant decide what combo to do or should i just run the timtins witch are basically the prolines knockoffs in all 4 wheels
    Also heard of people running the silicone soft greens up front and the blue inserts in rear

    I regret buying the overhyped first one. Needing a lot more investment to be any good.
    Not being cheap at the start for sure as needing to import one. With this one out only a few months after that…
    I feel robbed as a customer and regret my buy even more. Won’t be jumping on any new redcat again in the future.
    Dotnt mind spending my hard earned money on my hobbies. However this should have been the first and only one.
    Redcat should have done there homework first time around.

      @TheShopMiniRC  3 місяці тому

      I totally disagree. The first ascent is still fantastic for the price. Companies are ALWAYS releasing new and improved versions of products. If this frustrates you then the hobby is likely not going to be for you. It’s constantly evolving and there is always “the next new thing”.

    • @franktl3423
      @franktl3423 3 місяці тому +1

      @@TheShopMiniRC I totally disagree. First, payed way more then its US release price to get one.
      Second. No, rc companies for sure do not always bring improved versions from the same car. And when, not a few months after first release.
      Hope more UA-camrs and sellers get a bit more critical on free stuff they receive for “testing/free advertising”. Or sell.
      Probably most of them won’t. People need to stay aware of that. I forgot.

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  3 місяці тому

      @@franktl3423 what? Getting review product has nothing to do with what I am saying.
      Companies constantly make new products. Especially the smaller, more aggressively growing companies. Do you get upset when you buy a new tv and then 3 months later a better one comes out? What about computer parts? RC is the same.
      This new ascent is an improved version. If it wasn’t, you wouldn’t be so mad.
      Also, just because you paid more than the MSRP doesn’t mean the truck is bad. You chose to pay an inflated price and that’s not the truck or the companies fault.
      Also whether I got this truck “for free” or paid for it, my opinion is the same. Of note, I put probably 7-8 hours of work into this video… soooo pretty sure even if I didn’t pay for this truck, it wasn’t “free”

    • @wingnutbert9685
      @wingnutbert9685 3 місяці тому +2

      I can understand your frustration, Frank. It is disheartening when that happens. But Ken is also correct. It happens with all products. We roll the dice. Sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. And for companies, it's a balance game. Bring out a product and hit a lower price point so more folks can enter the hobby at least. And when you are a beginner, it can be hard to just jump right into going full mod-o-rama without having enough time and experience to go with it. But it's also smart business to come out with 'advanced' versions of models. Give those with a bit more budget to step up right away and jump a section of the learning curve, regarding working on knowledge. Also gives those that are experienced an option to buy something that will be closer to their level of abilities, but they don't want yet another project to spend their finite hours in the day on. This is where Axial and other 1/24th scale companies F'd up. SCX24 scale rigs are all for the most part, not very capable and need quite a few mod's and dollars thrown at them. Not good for a total new guy. They should have actually done light Redcat has done and came out with an 'Advanced' RTR so there was a choice. I'm not really super into the wrenching side of the hobby, so an already reasonably capable RTR is going to appeal to people like me that see the value in paying a bit more for a rig that is actually ready to keep up with friends right out of the box.
      I will agree, however, with you that disappointing customers by coming out with a 'better' version only a hand full of months later is dangerous for the reasons you expressed. IMO, better to introduce both at the same time and give a broader customer base a choice that suits their budget or wants. BUT often the accounting dept or greedy CEO's call the shots. They want to launch as soon as a product is ready (or not ready as we've seen so many times with RC stuff!) So the 'basic' Accent was likely ready to go and got the shove. And I see that logic as well. They got bills to pay and aren't multi-billion dollar companies, so things can be tight.
      Best advice would be either build up you're rig and enjoy it as a unique to you build to be proud of. Or sell it to fund a new Fusion or something else. But don't stress yourself about it. Not worth the negative health points! ;)
      Best wishes!
