Tips for Binding Curves on Carpet & Flooring

All of these tips work well. For extra thick Corinthian rubber backed carpets, try sewing them rubber up. Sewing pile side up can cause tension problems. The machine struggles to pull the Stitch tight after the needle has exited the rubber. Sailrite LSZ1, 1.25" sunbrella binding, Tenara thread with #20 needle. (Canvas I run a #18)

V-92 Polyester thread and a size #20 needle.

Man, I just had fits of rage doing vinyl binding on the edge of 2 layers of naugahyde. I wish this video had been out about 3 weeks ago because quite frankly my results were terrible... lol

Why did you not add 1 inch to the binder

don schlegel The 1" binder was not designed to sew flooring or carpet, but if it is application is thin enough it can be used, in a pinch.
