Her friend is an illegal pet released back into the wild in a Thailand national park, but he still seeks out human companionship as the local gibbons are slow to accept him.
how lucky.... i would love to be able to meet a gibbon. they are probably the most interesting primate. watching them do their crazy acrobatics is entertaining as hell. and kinda makes me wish I could do what they can.
There's something so magical about almost all mammals seeking out company, even with other species. And their ability to understand each other to really complex levels.
I agree! Though it's not just a mammal thing. I know that fish in particular do it- fish are incredibly social animals and are a lot more intelligent than people give them credit for. A typical coral reef fish knows how to peacefully interact with every other species on the reef.
Wikipedia: "Unlike most other primates, male and female gibbons are not very different in size and shape, although they may differ in color. The males are usually black, while the females tend to be ash blond."
Heard black ones are males whereas light ones are females. Also heard that Gibbons are very social. They groom one another. So this female clearly wants her new friend to groom her. There are other videos of them doing this with humans.
It does look like a Lars Gibbon so I agree with you that this is probably a female. Also gibbons are lesser apes and not great apes. And if you are as old as me, not the cartoon, Grape Ape. I am glad She was rescued and hope the other gibbons accept her.
Small wonder! I daresay an illegal pet gibbon might well get heaps of very indulgent attention from the humans. They are obviously very playful, but not big enough ( or inclined) to be dangerous. Like, say, chimps. An animal I would be very wary of being near in any circumstance.

So docile! This is the first time I’ve seen a gibbon that wasn’t going bonkers.
I love gibbons! So playful, they are.

the way he just lays his head on her lap. poor fella :(

In caae you hadn't already - look for videos of them calling and videos showing them go through the treetops, amazement guaranteed 😉

It's not that extremely uncommon for bright colored lar gibbons to be male, it just happens sometimes as a mutation
when she stopped petting him it looked like he gestures her to continue.
It’s a female gibbon
Thanks 4 a nice video 😊 The gibbon 🐒 and the woman looked so beautiful ❤️
Lovely gibbon and funny 😂😂😘😘
Sadly the gibbon is considered a “lesser ape,” which sucks. Why not call them “standard apes?
I agreed with you,
Smol
OHHH! Lucky her! 😊To be so close 2 that precious gibbon 😍
He's got it made.
Pretty sure that gibbon is a she not a he
Oops! You’re right. Males are dark colored; females light like she is.
How do you know? 😮
@@CursedMudflap female gibbons are yellow, males black.
Gibbons are without a doubt a specially animal even the wild ones are special God bless you people for helping them cuz they need it
Good video, except gibbons are lesser apes, not great apes
That and it's a female. Females are always tan color, males are always black.
Morgan is also not an ape lol
@@valdasdr8432 Humans are great apes along with Chimps, Bonobos, Orangutans, and Gorillas. Gibbons are lesser apes

Morgan, tell me. How do i become friends with a gibbon?? What job do i need to pursue??
Детёныш,вероятно растёт у них.
both are QTs
Gibbons are not great apes.
They are of the apes family
@@dauphin00777 Yes, lesser apes. Not great apes. As I said.
I hate to be "that guy", but gibbons are lesser apes, not great apes.
True.
So setting it "free" may not have been the best outcome.

It’s good to be the king!
Gibbon gibbon why dont you take my pension 🥺
I want one they look so docile and calm this Gibbon was really enjoying laying around!!!!!!!
They believe us and love
Gibbons are apes but they’re technically lesser apes, and not considered to be one of the great apes
Ye the Great Apes are Both Gorillas, Humans, All Three Orangutans, Bonobos and Chimpanzees
But Gibbons are Great Apes in the "other" sense
James Sinclair the term is Lesser Ape
@@brendanmorin9935 yes I know
They're Great through as an informal adjective. Sorry it's a little hard to convey through text
I still say they're one of the greatest apes on earth
@@kanesmith8271 my man gets what I mean
Gibbon isn't a great ape. Gibbon is a lesser ape.
Yea apart from the fact that gibbons are lesser apes... not great
Gibbons are lesser apes -_-
Gibbons are lesser apes technically, though I find them to be fantastic!
