Hey there, I have a question. Where do you get your wood stock? I am a new cnc user, I have a carbide 3D Shapeoko 4 but I'm having a hard time finding quality wood. The big box stores don't have much to choose from other than pine and red oak. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please send a link or any ideas on where to get quality wood at a good cost. Sincerely, The New Guy!
I buy it from local lumber mills. I would avoid big box stores as it will be drastically expensive. I would look around on google or marketplace. Ask local wood workers or call up a cabinet shop and see where they source materials. You can get it online but I’d avoid it unless you have to as you can’t pick it and it’s expensive.
In some cases you're going to have to do some real hunting. The best places (especially for selection and cost) cater mostly to builders and do little to no advertising, but they can also be right under your nose.
G’day , cheers for the awesome content, very inspiring! I’m so new to the CNC that I haven’t even unboxed mine yet from the recent Black Friday sale. What software do you use to design & run your CNC?
Could you share your speeds and feeds for the bowl bit? I purchased your kitchen tools files but I think I am running the bowl bit slower and gentler than I need to. Thanks!!
Ok i have one more question. What are some good, affordable, and durable woods to use? I'd prefer not to use pine but I want something that's soft enough to not destroy bits but long lasting.
Down cut leaves a more clean cut on the top surface. Upcut is the opposite, you can also be a little more aggressive with an upcut. It honestly doesn’t matter much if you’re just cutting things out and sanding them. Downcuts are great for vaneered plywood as it won’t tear out or if you are using a mask for painting it won’t shred it.
Love your content! Thanks for the great shares. It's great to see a bunch of products that can use 1/2 and 3/4 stock! I will definitely be trying some of these on my much slower CNC 😂.
hello, wow you been busy. i enjoyed your video. I did stop the video and went to your website, those cutting boards are awesome, I am sure you are putting some time into those. also I liked to cat mask, lol. My cat would not let you put it on him. Keep up the good work, I will subscribe to see whats new. thanks
It’s pretty big so I typically ramp it in and run it around 100ipm and .125 deep. I’ve gone far more aggressive with it but it depends on the wood and machine
In making items to sell, it would be great to hear how many you sell and how much you profit annually. “This widget sells like crazy, we can’t make them fast enough to keep up with orders. We sell about 1,000 a month with an annual profit of one million dollars for this item alone!”
Hey! I don’t sell a ton anymore. I more so make content these days. I still sell a lot of cutting boards and other kitchen stuff but that’s about it. I did it for 5 years or so and this year I made the transition to making videos. Less stressful and more enjoyable for me personally

@@TwoMooseDesign ok thank you

Great Projects! Thanks. I'm curious, why do you still use tabs when gluing down your pieces?
Better safe than sorry I suppose lol

Awesome. Nice work

Great video. Recommended feed and speeds would be welcome.

Hey! Oak, walnut, cherry, and maple are mostly what I use.
Lots of info, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I've watched a few of your videos. You use the down cut bit. What's the advantage over an up cut bit?

Thanks! And dooooo it, and that’s okay.
Gets the job done the same in the end
Was wondering if you could do a video on just the cooking utensils

I’m sorry I can’t seem to find a way to get into your files cause I want to download the dog trays and the inlays thank you, Jim
Hey! I’m not sure what you mean? Send us an email! I’ll get to it tomorrow or Monday. Twomoosedesign@gmail.com
Uses platsic mallet to make wooden mallet. hahah. Nice video thanks for the tips
Great projects. Question ? What Version PWN dust boot is that? TIA
I’m pretty sure it’s the V3 🤔 thanks for watching! We have a 5% discount code if you go that route TWOMOOSE
what do you use to hold down the wood 29:19
Probably the same technique as the start of the video.
What kind of wood do you use usually? 😊
Thanks guys ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!!
What is the link for the double sided bolt bit?
Do you use that press in the background to glue vcarved inlays? How do you like it? How do you apply even pressure? If cauls, what type?
Yes, works great for me. I've seen people use vacuum bags too but i haven't tried that. It has a steel plate to spread out the pressure.
Awesome job. which software are you guys using?
hello just a quick question what program do you use to make the designs?
I draw in Adobe and run g code and make tweaks in V carve pro. You can do it all in v carve pro I just prefer the graphic design program
which software you are using, nice work.
we use vectric software
hi, what is the model of your machine
Onefinity foreman
Great Ideas, thanks!
how about a meat tenderizer mallet?
How fast can you run the 3/4 straight bit?
It’s pretty big so I typically ramp it in and run it around 100ipm and .125 deep. I’ve gone far more aggressive with it but it depends on the wood and machine
Brilliant! You need dust extraction!!!!
I have extraction I just remove it for filming as a giant dust boot isn’t nearly as satisfying to watch lol
28 minutes in: “How old is this? He has no hair!” 😅 Thank you for all of the fantastic ideas!
😆😆 the last one is pretty old! It was like one of our first videos
Hi. Can I get project files?
They are available on our website or Patreon
What make and model is your CNC?
We have a onefinity foreman and jorneyman
@@TwoMooseDesign thank you
Good
Thanks
👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks! 🙏🏼
old Video
Yes I stated in the description that it’s edited together and the title says compilation. It’s for the people who want to watch it consecutively.
