Seeing Lua be the only person being dressed appropriately in all these videos is very funny. I just know the music was amazing if it made you both cry.

At 3:34 in this courtyard (I think this is the town hall) there was a filming set back in the summer of 2015 for a movie or series that I accidentally walked into the set of. Does anyone Czech know what this was? I walked into Kuttenberg and Bohemia because of my love of history even of Charles the great (before there was even KCD) Would like to know what series was there as I took some pictures and the producer looked pissed as there were signs of filming in Czech (but I no speak the Czech) never published them before for respect but probably now that it came out about 8-9 years ago its probably fine to talk about now.

Hi Sxybiscuit, I'm glad to hear that you liked our country and I'm not surprised that you were surprised by the mushroom soup (probably some version of the soup we call 'kulayda') - as far as I know the British don't eat mushrooms other than champignons, but if you're going to visit us again, I suggest you get used to it - all Slavic peoples eat mushrooms and mushroom picking is a national sport in the Czech lands. 😎 And potato pancakes are a popular dish here - Germans make them too, but they make them sweet (with jam) - here they are salted with garlic and it is not a dessert, but either a side dish to some 'wet' meal (like goulash) or as a separate main dish. I'm surprised for a change that they poured ale into yours - in our country beer is considered more of a lager (Pilsner type), but if you like it, why not? 😝 Did you get your wish and walk down the main street in Rataje? Next time you go to Prague, let me know - I'll be happy to show you around - even to places where tourists don't go much. 👍
They aren't always sweet in Germany and we don't use jam, at least in Hessen. Potatoe Pancakes are normally served with Apple Sauce. The Sweet-Sour Apple Sauce harmonizes perfectly with the more hearty Taste of the Potatoe Pancakes.
@@sorleytarrys8501 In our country, food normally has a local twist, so I believe even Germany is big enough to have multiple versions of potato pancakes. By the way, the jam version was described by Remarque in "All Quiet on the Western Front" hundred years ago... 😎
im from germany too. not from hessian though but from westphalia. we also dont eat potato pancakes as a desert or with jam. maybe you think of "normal" pancakes. those are normally served with jam or sugar and cinnamon and can either be main dish, dessert, tea time dish. But if it is a pancake made from potatoes, it is normally a main dish with apple sauce on it's own, or with gravy, meat and vegetables or whatever else really. Maybe this potato pancakes jam dessert was a thing in ww-era but it's not anymore ;)
@@rumpelpumpel7687 Interesting. Always glad to learn new things. :) In the Czech environment you would never get potato pancakes with apple sauce. They are always salty and with garlic, and apple sauce is not fitting (according to Czech cuisine) - it is used at most as a sweet dessert dish and sweet is not combined with garlic here (unless UR in some fancy restaurant where they combine everything with everything). And ordinary pancakes here are either smeared with jam, rolled up and sprinkled with cinnamon and fine sugar (as you say) or just smeared with jam and left all over the plate, or they're topped with sweet whipped egg whites and blueberries and folded in half (this is such a filling dish that we've never eaten more than two in a row - and I really like them!) - and I'm sure there are other versions I've not come across. But two years ago a video ran here comparing Czech and German versions of the same food named- Czech dishes vs German dishes / 18 foods in Czech republic. Interesting meals you do in Germany. :)
