3:28 if im right there is a part in exodus where they accidentaly drop it and the person who was trying to stop it from falling was killed, burned or something
Despite the attraction of this Shaggy Dog story, some things could do with a bit of explanation. When Jericho was discovered, they also discovered what brought down its walls and it wasn't some hocus pocus magic box, except peripherally. While they wandered around the walls of the city blowing flattened ram's horns (shofar) and making all sorts of noises, the object was to keep the eyes of the inhabitants locked on them and not on the sappers who tunnelled beneath the city's walls. After about 3 weeks of digging and the piling up of wood and combustibles, the whole was doused liberally with cooking oil and set afire. The heat broke the stones and mortar of the walls and the Israelites flooded in through the breach and put the inhabitants to the sword. Just thoughty you should hear of it.
I thought this was going to be a video on Alexander the Great's tomb and crystal, see-through sarcophagus. That is an item that is still out there somewhere. Probably in Egypt, in Alexandria, as he was buried as Pharaoh in the city he founded over 2300 years ago. I hope to live to see that day if it ever comes!
Didn't they recently find one of the best candidates for his tomb in the Siwa Oasis, like within the last year? I think they are still trying to confirm it. It is possible the tomb is just gone, destroyed, looted to nothingness, or even reused. A lot of missing artifacts are like that, like the Amber room, which was most likely destroyed by fire.
Alexander the "Great" was but an overconfident man who killed a lot of people and died in his 30's. He was no greater than any other man. And the more overconfident one is the LESSER one is, truth be known. For the selfish human EGO is what the Bible calls 'the devil" and "satan." And anyone totally possessed by the ego is an anti-Christ, with Donald Trump being a perfect example, alongside Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. For as 1John tells you, "there are many anti-Christs." The Ark of the Covenant is much more important than the grave of any man. It was found by the late Ron Wyatt, and will remain where he found it until the time is right. I am the prophesied return of the biblical prophet Elijah. I'm gifted with wisdom and Truth discernment, and I believe that all of Ron's discoveries are correct. (Google "Ron Wyatt.") GOD often gives me indicators through SYNCHRONICITIES, and it so happens that Ron Wyatt was born on the exact same day as my dad: June 2, 1933. I found THE Holy Grail (it was never a physical object but is one of the deepest and most important of truths) and published a book on the subject. My soul has come as Moses, as Elijah, John the Baptist, and now I come as the "two witnesses" spoken of in Revelation Chapter 11. I've published the answers to all meaningful questions. Click and ye shall find. I don't receive UA-cam comment notifications, but can be reached through my websites.
Dang, I wish we could still get massive funding for implausible hairbrained expeditions and research.... Also, the ark is nice and all, but I'd be way more excited about the rediscovered Seal of the Realm, a Chinese imperial heirlom made from a single massive piece of jade that was gifted to the first Emperor and handed down through the dynasties as a symbol of imperial power untill it was lost at the end of the Tang dynasty. Nobody has seen it since, but its symbolic power is so great that the Qing dynasty had dozens of forgeries made, and if either the CCP or Taiwan ever managed to rediscover it, it's be a massive boost to either side's claim to legitimacy.
This was very comforting to me. When I was a teen I looked heavily into mysteries like this. It's good to know that it's still the same conclusions I had back then. Love your work as always ❤️

There are 2 different stories in EXODUS about the ARK. The stories are very different. This is a common thread throughout the Books of Moses. Every story has a second version. I’m always amazed how few people know this important fact!
Yes, more than likely because there were 2 main groups of Israelites/Judeans that unified their oral traditions in one text but neglected to give the overall text a serious edit to remove the inconsistency. I've heard it said also that 1 version of the Torah begins in Genesis and the other with Abraham which is why there seems to be such an odd mismatch in the story.
Fantastic video buddy! As always. Just an FYI on the pronunciation of the city Harare. It’s pronounced “Huh-raa-ree” my apologies if others have already pointed this out.
I would love to see you do a part 2 and cover things like replica arks sprinkled throughout the ancient world, and the archaeologist (Ron Wyatt?) who claims to have found the ark inside Golgotha and notified the Israeli Antiquities.
Yeh he basically did, all the clues and locations where he discovered it makes perfect sense. And Jerusalem out of all the cities, it wouldn’t make sense if it would be anywhere else but there. They took blood sample from the ark and the sample showed only 23 chromosomes where normally everybody has 46 half from mother half from father.
calling Ron Wyatt an archeologist is stretching the concept of archeologist beyond breaking point. He likes to make fast video's of unbelievable discovieries without the slightest use of archeological methods.
Going to leave this here just in case. Artefact is the original British English spelling. Artifact is the American English spelling. Interestingly, unlike most American spellings, artifact is the accepted form in some British publications.

While the wood of the box is unlikely to be in good condition, the gold will be immaculate, maybe a bit dusty, but undamaged if stored carefully (which for something as valuable as that, its storage isn't a concern) so if it exists, the only way it would be destroyed is if someone destroyed it. Time doesn't care about gold.
The Ark of the covenant is almost definitely destroyed. Thomas Romer makes a good argument that the ark of the covenant was a statue of Yahweh in the temple before the Babylonian Exile. There seems to be a celestial version described in a vision of Ezekiel as well. As you described, the Ethiopian church believes they have it in their possession. But 2 Kings tells us that the Babylonians destroyed all the gold in the temple. This would probably include the ark. The ark is never mentioned again in the bible for good reason.
I watched a documentary in where a Jewish tribe in Africa claimed to be direct descendants of Moses and the Israelites and had the Ark. It wasn't fancy but carbon dating said it was created during the proper time period. I think they did D.N.A. testing as well and found out their ancestors had come from Jerusalem as well. I never crossed checked any of the statements but what they claimed seemed to be back up by the science available at the time.
Ethiopia most likely Their kings claimed to be from the line of king Solomon from Israel and the queen of Sheeva, from Yemen. As they claim, the Ark just "teleported" itself and the king's heir to there. Not the most convincing story so far

As always that was another awesome video Thoughty2...though I have one small concern: there hasn't been a RIF episode in over half a year...what are chances there'll be one soon or is the podcast over with??
If the ark existed, its long gone. Most artifacts containing jewels and precious metals are found In "lost" tombs or at the bottom of the sea - where no one can loot it.
If it was made out of gold, it is also quite likely that if it was stolen it could have been smelted down. It is also possible that it was simply destroyed especially if it was to blame for the plague, or if a king saw it to house too much power and did not want it to get into the wrong hands. That would be my guess, but who knows.
I love this guys videos 😀. I hope there will be some sort of massively special video featuring Douglas Adams when Thoughty Two has his Forty-second birthday 😎
Couldn’t we just use GPR to find out if there’s anything that even REMOTELY matches the description of the Ark anywhere near the Temple Mound? It wouldn’t actually damage anything, right? And if there’s nothing there, nobody will need to dig there anymore.
Still would take billions to organize expeditions to every possible location, even if the native population agreed and helped. Not gonna happen in any Muslim country for sure, they indescriminatly hate us and want us dead
Honestly if it was real and was stored properly someone probably found it, sold it, and is now in the hands of a private collector. I believe a lot of missing historical artifacts are in the hands of private collectors.
I thought Jericho's walls didn't crumble to dust but fell down on to their sides. Also creating the Ark as they did would cause it to create massive amount of energy.
It's defo in Ethiopia. The "ark guardian" who is the only person allowed with it, have strangely short lives after taking up the role and have been tested afterwards to show exposure to large amounts of radiation which ppl believe is caused by the "ark."

Fun fact: The Ark of the Covenant, in the Bible, was also mentioned to have some Manna and Aaron's staff in it. (Exodus 16: 32, Numbers 17: 10) However, mention of this goes away in 1 Kings 8: 9. I wonder what happened to the other items? Were they lost? Did God command them to be removed, but that was neglected to be written down?
Given that manna was edible, I would imagine that it would degrade over time. As for the staff, I would assume that any raids, wars or looting would mean the most valuable items, whether it be physical or cultural value, would be the first to be destroyed or stolen. Or the night's Templar......just thinking out keyboard here

If you saw the last Indiana Jones film, “Kingdom Of the Crystal Skull” you’d most likely lean towards the ark being in the great enormous warehouse. That’s filled with thousands of wooden crates of various sizes. And because there are so many crates, it’d take you years to go through every one of them. But, that’s my guess. And the thought of the wood diminishing over the years is bollocks, it’s full of Gods infinite power. Something that holy would definitely stand the test of time. I’d also bet the gold is as shiny now as it was when first smelted, and it’s still got that “New Ark Smell”.
The funniest thing is that the Ark is just like Atlantis - it doesn't matter how many times people fail to find it because they will still assume it is real and continue looking.

I found the Ark when I was burying a dead body in my backyard. I thought to myself, “Sweet! A free coffin!”, and so, I chucked the corpse inside and then covered up the hole in the ground. The next morning, I awoke to find my mother-in-law trying to get in my back door-she was covered in dirt, blood, bile, and everything else a human body leaves behind. Long story short, if anybody wants this ark, and my Jewish mother-in-law, they’re both free to a good home. Or, a bad home, I don’t really give a shit. #ThisIsParody
Ron Wyatt's famous claim of discovering the Ark of the Covenant is pointedly ignored...probably because of the serious nature of Ron's claim...which runs counter to thoughty2's lighthearted approach towards history.
@@asherloat8570Ron never did anything for fame. The man literally did it all for God, including being taken prisoner in Turkey by Kurdish rebels while visiting the Noah’s Ark site and in Saudi Arabia while researching the true site of Mount Sinai. Both sites have since been given official recognition based on their locations and the extraordinary items found there that match the Biblical descriptions. In the 1990s, several higher-ups in the Israeli government quietly acknowledged that Ron had, indeed, found the Ark where Jeremiah was instructed to move it. God allowed Ron and these several men to have access to the chamber, but they had to crawl and squeeze their way into it. Both Ron on his own and the government were unable to rediscover Jeremiah’s exact route because it wasn’t yet God’s time to unearth the Ark. The Israeli government, after failing to remove it - and causing the death of the men chosen to attempt its removal - decided to file the whole thing under “L” for “Later” and issued a blanket statement saying that Ron had never found anything in Israel in complete contradiction to his previously acknowledged finds such as the Philistine burial pots at Ashkelon.

I can just see them on day 6: Shofar sho good.

Same bro I really wanna see his tomb I think I’d weep I look up to that man so much
Didn't they recently find one of the best candidates for his tomb in the Siwa Oasis, like within the last year? I think they are still trying to confirm it. It is possible the tomb is just gone, destroyed, looted to nothingness, or even reused. A lot of missing artifacts are like that, like the Amber room, which was most likely destroyed by fire.
@@HicSvntDracones I heard abt that but there’s been a lot of claims to his tomb, I doubt it’s there

For as 1John tells you, "there are many anti-Christs."
The Ark of the Covenant is much more important than the grave of any man. It was found by the late Ron Wyatt, and will remain where he found it until the time is right.
I am the prophesied return of the biblical prophet Elijah. I'm gifted with wisdom and Truth discernment, and I believe that all of Ron's discoveries are correct. (Google "Ron Wyatt.") Dang, I wish we could still get massive funding for implausible hairbrained expeditions and research....

While the wood of the box is unlikely to be in good condition, the gold will be immaculate, maybe a bit dusty, but undamaged if stored carefully (which for something as valuable as that, its storage isn't a concern) so if it exists, the only way it would be destroyed is if someone destroyed it.
That's actually very insightful deep reading. Very reasonable conclusions.

It wasn't fancy but carbon dating said it was created during the proper time period. I think they did D.N.A. testing as well and found out their ancestors had come from Jerusalem as well. I never crossed checked any of the statements but what they claimed seemed to be back up by the science available at the time.

Fun fact:
The Ark of the Covenant, in the Bible, was also mentioned to have some Manna and Aaron's staff in it.

You have to wonder why Ron was able to find all the things the real archaeologists weren't able to. Just doing it for the fame most likely
