- We won a trip to Southafrica with SUN-AIR & British Airways, to fly the Jonker Sailplanes, come along!
Thanks to Soaring Safaris for having us, covering our facility fee and letting us stay there, fantastic and marvelous place: www.soaring-safaris.com/
And to Anders Møller Andersen, for giving us the opportunity to try the best of the best!
Ending section is available here: • It's just a little crush - Фільми й анімація
Great edit, especially at the end!
Thank you Stefan, appreciate your videos too!
Stefan Langer true!
The editing is sick! Awesome stuff!
Thanks!
Out of this world! Awesome Job!
I haven't flown sailplanes for years and have just been out of the loop---but DAmn, those are some beautiful sailplanes! I've never even heard of them. I love the motor. It would be essential (for me) to have self launching capabilities if I get a sailplane.
Thanks for the upload. Great editing, but some commentary on the gliders would be nice.
Awesome cut!
Dope editing, flying , and music! what a show! (: Nice Work
Thanks a lot dude!
Well done soaring video. I like the soaring rap song!
10/10
Sikke en fin video!
Awesome
Great!!😊
Epic video!
Thanks a lot!
Awesome edit :-)
Awesome video 👍 sick editing
How did you like the jet? I have a JS3 on order and I'm torn between the Jet and the FES system. Any trouble starting the jet?
JS3 was 15m or 18m?
What's the climb rate ?
Why isn't the whole video like the ending! 😂
5/5, lovely.
Been trying to learn about these with the jets or propeller.
Was curious if it’s for unassisted takeoff or to stay in the air longer. Appears like both, but I’m still unsure. Fill me in if you can !
There's a few variants:
Primarily the jets and propeller variants are for self-sustaining once already in the air. So say your glider gets low due to a lack of thermals, then you can use the sustainer to get a bit further. The distance they can sustain flight is about 100-250 km.
There's some propeller variants which are capable of doing unassisted takeoff as well, but not jets as far as I know.
How did you win this trip!? Super cool, I am very jealous.
5/5 sick edit!
Beatiful video guys. Liked and subscribed.
What is the glider with turbine on top , Jantas? Is it self launched?
Thanks and good flights.
Thanks! Both planes are made by Jonker Sailplanes. The one with the jet is their superiorr model - the JS3. And the other is the fantastic JS1.
Dalboe great. Thanks
Great! What max altitude did you go to? I flew a few years ago in a Cessna near the Jungfrau and Eiger in Switzerland, we reached 14 000 feet, but it was fine without oxygen. Windows is always checking for a solution, but never finds it!
@@randomguyinanglider Link?
@@randomguyinanglider Thank you. So this is 52,172 ft not 90,000.
Stupid question, but do sailplanes have cabin heaters?
Hi! Gliders are not equipped with cabin heaters, so depending on the weather it can be quite cold or warm, and also change throughout the flight. Many gliders have a oldschool ventilation system that pushes air from the outside and in, which you can open and close.
(Bonus info: One of the gliders in this video DO have a electric cabin heater and cooler, but that is because it's a very modern model)
Was there (3 times). Done that. And after you will never fly the same way.
There is something over there. Like REAL 3D I mean. Those who know will understand.
Welcome to the next level of altitude. And speed.
Haha, den sidste montage er så lækker.
10/10 - Would crash AfterEffects again!
Yeup, the ending is quite lisergic!
Jet powered sustainer glider!? Awesome!!
Next they’ll be fitting twin engines to Blaniks. 🙀
Great views, great editing, what more can you ask?
Thanks a lot!
How much altitude did you gain with the engine, and at what rate?
jonkersailplanes.co.za/engine-systems-2/
Looks like 360 feet per minute is best case.
Wonder if the jet engine is enough take off on it's own or if they still need a tow plane?
@@msnpassjan2004 based on weight/fuel allotments; I'd still want a tow.
What is the high of the cloud base in SA? Look very high (3200 m?)
That's not uncommon for the cloudbase to be that high
What's the opening song?
ODESZA - A Moment Apart
Odesza, god stil! Er du gal en 1337 afslutning. Sick montage, bro.
Jeg faldt over det under min research af musik til denne film, jeg er fan!
Og tak Kalle, jeg forsøgte at leve op til Xxx_MLG_xxX håndbogen ;)
I want one...please
How long have you been editing vor the crush?😂😋😍
That would be around 2 hours per second :-s
Cant imagine the Ox being necessary for the amount of time you spend sub 10k ft.
It isn't really either, that's why delivery cuts off automatically below 10k
@@Dalboe probably just easier to have it on and not in the way
