      Tim Wake: yes, want a table that will work as a screen as well so i can read & type messages on it & also watch videos & take pictures - all the while pocketing balls.
      The table must also be able to record videos of games played therein.
      P.S: it should also dispense drinks & make sandwichs.

      This is infuriating: the most obvious question is not answered in the video. He says it, but after that a normal shot is shown. Makes you wonder why.

    You've got to demonstrate a proper jump shot, with great force driving the ball down into the glass, to convince me that the glass won't break.

  • @gcb199
    @gcb199 6 років тому +18

    Four observations. 1. Seeing through the bed of the table to the stuff underneath and to the floor would be distracting, and would affect your concentration. To shoot well in pool, you have to concentrate. 2. You would get reflections of the room lights off the table surface, lessening the clarity with which you could see your shot. 3. A fabric table has a warm feel to your bridge hand when you make a shot; this table, I would think, would feel cold and unpleasant. 4. When you make a jump shot, the cue ball would make a harsh clattering sound when it comes back down, rather than the soft thud it makes on a fabric surface. All in all, then, a solution in search of a problem.

      Company claims aren't always accurate. They're trying to sell a product. I'm sure he paid attention to the video and the examples just were not convincing enough. No need for the hostility.

    • @gw819
      @gw819 6 років тому +10

      How does left spin off the rail (which is obviously cloth like normal) show us how the cue responds to low or high shots, when you are trying to draw the cue backwards or have it follow through after a shot? Answer: it doesn't. So you are not being helpful with your comments, and you missed the point that the Mutorcsym1391 was making.

    • @DENMONKEY
      @DENMONKEY 6 років тому

      He didn't criticize he asked a reasonable question. That shot you reference at 1:05 it hardly spin. It was an angled shot across the side pocket. I didn't see that cue ball do anything a normal straight shot would not have. As +Mutorcsym1391 said, moving the cue ball is a primary part of the game. Unless they have this nailed, it can't be taken seriously as a concept.
      If it did 'behave as cloth does' surely it would very high on your list of things to show when presenting such an innovation.
      Unfortunately they didn't , which suggests all is not as they suggest it is. I would be very happy to be proven wrong though.

    One thing I always said I'd do if I was rich would be to design a transparent pool table. This will save me the job, however I'd be customising it so that once the balls drop into the pockets they'd run along rollercoasters all around the underside of the glass, instead of just going straight to the rail.

    Also, couldn't you put felt on that glass plate? I would think that would be the real trick for getting the cost of a good, flat pool table down is to just replace the ground granite with glass and put felt on that. Wouldn't give the cool see through look though.

    First the compliment, your table looks amazing and I really hope sell every pool table you make. On for the criticism, your video description really comes off as confrontational. No one on UA-cam asked for this video so don't make it seem like you are doing us a favor by offering this information. That was a bad marketing choice that may run off potential buyers. Instead, try focusing on how fantastic your product is and how we need one in our lives. And along that vain, you came across as dispassionate toward your table. You just made a glass pool table that doesn't break and behaves like a traditional table, but the way you addressed it it might as well been an advert for a piece of paper. Take this as you will, but I really like what you are doing and want you to succeed.
