Exactly. How did he not think "he is going to cheese with lings that's all he does. I know I'll keep 1 marine positioned out in front of my base a bit so I'll see it coming and can repair my bunker" nope

That last thank you guy in the chat for the sub showed me a tone of despair and defeat of one who is clearly hates losing. It's hard to keep a competitive mentality for years. Especially in a game where winning 40% of the time is decent.

Legitimately Artosis would have been in the right to auto leave each of those games because the skill difference is so large it truely is a waste of time. Everything Artosis says in this video is actually true.
@@katesperinck1401 wouldnt say its too large, isnt like 200 only? 2600 vs 2400. I mean, yes its big, but it isnt snow who can beat artosis with one hand while clapping with his feet.
@@amai2307 The further you approach the tail of player skill distribution, the greater differences like that will feel especially in an rts. Artosis is only maybe 2300 so it's not even slightly close.
@@katesperinck1401 its not close, but not hopeless, unlike with snow. And artosis clearly knows what his opponent is going to use. Great chance to focus on improving micro and cheese defense.

Yep he knew lings were coming things he could have done: built a firebat, kept a marine farther from his base to see lings coming to give time to send scv to repair bunker. Things he did: do no scouting, have shocked Pikachu face when lings surround bunker and kill it instantly

Ok so i think i understand now. I love artosis and ive watched probably 300 hours of him. Cheese just means annoying, im guessing?
It means the use of a cheap tactic or a way to gimmick your oponnet out
Cheese is a play that generally has no backup plan and often relies on your opponent not scouting something or making another mistake. Usually very all in and pray that it works kinda thing. 4 pool for example is the most extreme version of this but it comes in a l9t of varieties
It's great to throw in when you're playing a best of series to keep your opponent honest but it's not thought to be something you should continually do in practice games as it doesn't lend itself to the skills needed for more standard macro oriented games
Tldr; cheese = low effort dice rolls that hinge on your opponent making a mistake/not scouting something
He calls a speed ling build a "cheese" when it hits around 5 min after scout dying before seeing eggs hatch

he has another channel artosiscast where you can watch him casting, on his own though. the only other regular casting gig is with tasteless doing the asl stuff, and thats going on afreecatv's youtube channel. tasteless was recently in the us though and they said something vague about brewing sth up they can't talk about yet.

It is *OBVIOUS* that the Zerg will try to make an attempt to run for it with his Drones...
Artosis, *INSTEAD of* blocking the nearby ramp with his firebats (for example), to *at least TRY* to block that motion... simply *STANDS* there... Allowing the Drones a completely safe escape.
At his level (Code A) -- almost insignificant a detail.
At S level, however, towards which he's always strived ?? *Absolutely GAME-BREAKING and deciding.*

For people complaining that Artosis should just "counter" the pro's build, remember that "counters" in Starcraft are fuzzy. Starcraft is often compared to chess, and I think the comparison is apt in this instance.
Imagine a chess game in which your opponent opens with a King's Gambit. This is not a sound opening (i.e. no one would play this against equal competition) as after a proper response Black can find himself down a pawn without compensation, usually enough advantage for White to win with optimal play. But would you still be confident in victory against a Grandmaster? Who exclusively practices this substandard opening?
Before rating systems existed, chess masters used to give a handicap by forfeiting one of their pieces, usually a pawn, sometimes a piece. There is a reason no one plays this way any more: it feels terrible to lose against such an obvious disadvantage, and one can't even learn from the game because the positions are probably exclusive to that particular handicap. Certainly, Artosis can be criticized for easily displaying his frustrations, but those frustrations usually do have some merit.
Artois plays poorly on purpose sometimes to give noobs a chance.

The Zerg's muta manoeuvres are VERY imprecise, whereas Artosis is barely making the effort to keep his Marines well positioned, and attacking the same target at all times.
