The only thing I won't ~truly~ shit on is the windmill animations. It's poorly executed, no doubt, and embarrassingly so. But it's a common example of animation LOD (no, it's not low FPS due to lag - it's intentional). You can clearly see this in action with the side by side at 5:58. One side is extremely low FPS and the other side is more smooth. Notice the camera is closer to the one running more smooth. This is how LOD works. Same shit with model/mesh quality and texture resolution (also, why the ever-living fuck didn't they use stochastic sampling for textures? It's not that expensive and it instantly fixes any repeating texture pattern such as the bald cliffs, which are some of the worst texturing jobs I've seen in a game since PS2 days). Though, while I won't ~truly~ shit on it, I will nevertheless slightly shit on it, because LOD is just a technique for optimization. There's no excuse for it to be implemented this shitty.
Also, leveling in this game was a shit show. Nothing burger. Pointless. And raid resources? What a shame. You could go online for an event raid, let the game register it as active, go offline and then reset your Switch clock to the beginning of the event and catch the exclusive raid Mon as many times as you want and get the shit ton of good rewards as many times as you want. Obvious lack of application security design in their process.
I'm also actually slightly reluctant to shit on the shadow issue brought up in the video. The issue with open world games is that, design-wise, they usually beg for day/night cycles, which means they are likely going to be using some form of realtime light source. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is still expensive for even AAA games to do (which is why you still see it being used as a selling point for some games). Unlike lightmapping, realtime lighting also results in realtime shadowmapping, and on the technical side, this means the game goes through two separate full render passes - one for lighting and one for shading. For every mesh, this doubles rendered poly count as well as draw calls. Depending on how they batch objects, this can create significant frame time increases. It's quite ugly, but it's usually an executive design decision, and they chose to keep the realtime lighting over proper shadows (they could have just not done a day/night cycle and do lightmapping, which would have been perfectly fine). That said, I say "slightly reluctant" because the fact that there are ways around this make me wonder why a billion dollar studio doesn't have methods to deal with this (lightmap switching does exist - Horizon: Zero Dawn uses this technique)
It boggles my mind how I never experienced a single issue like this or any issue for that matter, during my play through of Violet, not one single time.
Since open worlds in pokemon are inevitable, I hope they go back to Sword/Shield's format. Yes the wild area was eye burningly ugly and ran horribly, but the wild area was a side area that you could mostly avoid, and the game still had traditional routes and some beautiful locations.
Everytime I see a video of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, I swear, I feel it looks worse. And they haven't even changed much. It looked terrible on release and I decided I wasn't gonna buy it until they at least fixed the glitches. Thankfully I'll be saving that money.
i mean nintendo overall it just a bunch of kid scammer and pokemon is just one the big shot that gonna make you ask do i really want THAT and after playing it if it was on the 3ds at 40$ i would say yea ok what ever i lost money but what ever
lol tbh why should they lol we pokemon fans just gonna keep giving these mofos money no matter what if we voted with our wallets than maybe they will start to care about actually making a good game... lol who am i kidding lol thats never going too happen pokemon is just too powerful lol

You don’t need to, the game looks like crap as is. I never experienced bugs and I honestly hated playing that game.
@@Qunt21 I pays lots of tenshun
@@frankiecedeno3724 I have 358 hours logged into the game….i honestly didn’t have a problem with it 😂
I didn't experience any issues either, but the game is still kind of eh in the looks department
My FPS limit is personally 95

Not a fan of The Activist Man, but I'll watch it for you, Clabe.

lol that’s the funniest reason I’ve ever heard. Don’t get me wrong, S&V are garbage games. But you’re living in a weird fantasy land.
@@timthetoolpool the amount of twink characters is getting far too commonplace. Someone is definitely going hehehehehuhuhuhuu over there.
