Eurosong is notorious for having a low budget show but once the act is chosen they generally get a revamp, music video and major glow up on the Eurovision stage. I can see how the vocal wouldn't work for everyone but in my opinion the vocal was great for the song. On tiktok Bambie Thug posted a more stripped back version where their voice really shone which says to me that the way this performance was sung was all part of the performance, so I'd say once the track has a bit more money behind it on the big stage with proper sound mixing any concerns about parts feeling empty will hopefully be in the past

I have kinda dug into their life and they studied musical theater, so the performance thing actually makes sense. It's not really about the singing, but about the atmosphere of the song as a whole, or so I think. And what I assumed from other commentators, these national finals tend to have bad audio quality (just remember our - czech national finals, we have even worse audio quality and acoustics, this is still heaven in comparison to us). I kinda look forward to this song on Eurovision, because the more I listen to it and look on the video, the more I like it. There is so much going on, I always find something new to pay attention to.
This is a difficult one to review. The Irish NF is held in a regular TV studio, hence the poor production - but on a big stage with better acoustics this might be fascinating viewing, could a "moment". However, we have to remember ESC is a SONG contest and to my mind this is more of a performance piece, not a song. That's not always bad - look at Konstrakta from Serbia a couple of years back. Whatever, this might be a performance I would re-watch if it was good enough, but it will be unlikely be a "song" I would choose to download or deliberately listen to ever again. We can at least congratulate Ireland on choosing something out of the box

Its a theatrical performance and with the right setup and staging at the eurovision it could be absolutely Spectacular

The blame for the bad production is because of RTE, Ireland's backward TV station. Their sound is always weak and the studio is tiny.
