Hi sis. This is my old old idli steamer bought in 2002. Almost 20 plus years. Difficult to get the same type sis. Many sisters asked me already. Mayb you try online kadai style idli steamer...good luck sis. Thank you so much ❤️
Hahahaha sis. How to send to Canada? Its very old pot sis around 20 years. Even here i look around and cannot find the same type. Many asked me about the pot. Mayb you check online. Thank you.
Mrs Siva, thank you so much for sharing this simple recipe with us subscribers. You always make use of ingredients that are easily available from our kitchen. Not forgetting your useful tips that you share with us in between while cooking. All this while i didn't know you can add a dried chilli to the batter. Thank you Mrs Siva. By the way can we use the same batter to do thosai too? Hope you and your ♥️ ones had a great and safe Deepavali. 😍
Hi sister Rajeswari. Thank younfor the beautiful lines. Much appreciated. Yes of course you can use the same better for tosai. If you find it thick add a small amount of water..tosai batter is ready. I use the same batter too for tosai. Try and let me know. Thank you soooo much
@@sivahomecook OK😊. But is it because it gives a particular taste. I ask cos I don't really like the smell. But I guess it's a small amount so should be ok ya?
@@sivahomecook I followed your recipe, soaked it last night and grinded this morning and now it's fermenting in my kitchen but I completely forgot to add in the cooked rice when grinding!😬 Please tell me it's ok😃
You can take any cup that you have. Just follow this ratio 4:1. Example 4 cups rice and 1 cup urad dhall. That is standard measurement for idli. But for this recipe i put urad dhall a little bit more thats all.
Like i said in the video its just to help ferment the dough. The tiny2 bacteria frm the tangkai cili will mix with the flour and activate the fermentation

Hi Ranjeny sis. Sukatan still the same sis. I think can try shouldnt be a problem. Good luck sis.
@@sivahomecook thnx sis
Sis just checking.. Should the batter be super fine or a little coarse? My mixie doesn't achieve super fine texture regardless how long I grind.
No need to be super fine sister. A little course is ok for idli. For tosai should be a little fine.
Thank you
Cantikkkkkk kejadiannyaaaa. Tepong tu kena kisar kasar ke atau halus. Bole buat tosai jugak kan?. Terbaikkkkkkkkkkkkk. Yummmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Kisar hampir2 halus kak. Tepung ni 2 in 1 idli boleh tosei pun boleh. Kalau tepung pekat tambah air sikit. thank you kak
