    Finally did this cake. I wanted to try this because it's vegan. And the result...it turned out well. Only thing was that it was slightly sweet for me. Will b doing this regularly as it's hubby's favourite. And thumbs up frm him👍🏼💓

      U can try adding all purpose flour like 3 tbsp. I havent try it this way. Maybe you just try..

    For baking powder and cornflour can you please give exact measurements in grams. In spoon measurements not sure if heaped spoon or level spoon. Makes a difference in the final outcome of the cake. Thanks for your lovely effort and video.

      In my baking videos when i mention baking powder it is level spoon sister. Flat. NOT ROUNDED. Corn flour too

    Hi, if I want to add nuts, how much can I add? It will be counted in the total amount of fruits 450g? Or 450g fruits and the nuts add to it.
    Instead of condensed milk, possible to use water and brown sugar? Or milk and brown sugar... If possible, what will the measurements be? Thank you so much for advicing.

      Making cakes you hv to use exact measurements and ingredients to get that particular cake sister. If you tend to change the ingredients it will be a totally different cake which will require diff measurements according to what other ingredients you take. Difficult to advice furthermore i havent done it that way.

      Hi Mary. I did not weigh the cake. But if we see the ingredients it should be around 1.5kg . Fruits and sugee sure berat sis.😁

      Condensed milk is memang pekat. The other one is susu cair ( evaporated milk)

      I washed slightly to remove syrup on cherries then towel dry. The cake was super, moist with good height.😘

      Hi sis. I use 160C for 1hour 10mins. But i suggest you use the same temp you use in our oven to bake your cakes. Every oven different sis.

      You can try adding like 2 to 3 tbsp of rum and reduce the water accordingly. Or else bake first then apply or pour rum on top of the cake after poking it a bit with a skewer. Both ways will be good

      Hi . I have not done that. But if you like try adding from 1 to 3 tbsp of rum or brandy while soaking the fruits in warm butter n milk mixture. Or maybe just brush or poke little holes on top and pour the alcohol after baking. Good luck.

      Hi Rowena. Welcome to Siva's Kitchen. Maybe you can take around 115g. But please lesser the other ingredients as well accordingly. I have not done in small size, so maybe you do the adjustments yourself. Rava take 115g.

      Punitha , i use fan setting to bake this. Preheat the oven just 10mins before putting in d cake.

      Hi sis. Let it cool completely and try to cut it bigger pieces. Yes its a bit crumbly since no eggs. You can add flour if you like

      Can add 1 tin plus 1/4 tin water sis. Im not sure about the cracks. All my sugee cakes cracks 😃😃. Small cracks are ok sis. 👌

      Yes sis. Orange n lemon skin. Yes 1 tin milk mix with 1 tin water. Its a big heavy cake. But you can always lesser the milk if you want less sweet.

      It will last in good condition at least for two days at room temperature. After that store in fridge

    I made this cake but halved the recipe. The cake turned out hard and dry. I added some toasted cashews and I think it made the cake tastier. Husband liked it but I found the cake dry and hard.

    Is this sugee flour is semolina flour? Hiw many cups? If 1 cup need how much condensed milk? Pls advise. TQ

    I was awaiting for someone to upload Sri Lankan EGGLESS fruit cake for the longest time ever. I jumped in joy seeing this on my notifications. Thank you so much ka 😍
    Have you tried preserved chow chow for your fruit cake? It's always listed in Sri Lankan rich cake recipes but I am yet to find it in Malaysia.
    I am so happy. This made my day ❤️

      I bought the fine sugee in Giant supermarket. The timbang one. I think klang can get the fine ones too. Yes sister i use to post in DHM. Thanks for suggesting to me sis.❤

      @@sivahomecook thank you for your reply ka. Your cake recipes reminds me of the ones my aunties have passed down to me. They learnt it 50 plus years ago. The recipes are very similar with just minor differences only. I think that's one of the reasons why I get excited when you upload cake recipes haha. Take care x
