One of those rare punks songs in which the music supports a story. The song is storytelling. You feel inside a riot, as it evolves. Multiple layers too of interpretation.
From the most humorous sarcasm and witty lines, to the most dramatic and shuddering musical parts, DK is the most perfect version of punk, they pushed the boundaries of the genre, they set the bar high and made great albums.
This song will forever be relevant. Riots will always go too far and be taken advantage of... But for that to become irrelevant can only mean The State won. Humanity will never not riot. But more people can listen to this song.
I think part of the point Senor Biafra was making is that the type of people who riot because they think it's cool or a trend or they are just caught up in a moment but really don't totally care about the cause. Thrill seekers and trouble makers who take the plight of others up as a phony excuse to be dicks. Just a thought.
That's exactly what the song is about. It's about political opportunists who take advantage of riots, whether those opportunists are politicians, revolutionaries, college kids, or people who just want to watch the world burn.
@@urphakeandgey6308 This song isn't about condemning rioters. Biafra clearly suggest that there are underlying reasons for which riot takes place; be it racism, or class divisions. Mob is unaware of these reasons, it's mindless, impulsive, opportunistic etc., and because of this ignorance it can't channel this anger into succesfull political action.
@@folkblacklyrics you pick great tunes and I know it takes time to add lyrics to the vids…and I salute you🍻 Have you seen my Dayglo Abortions - Dragons vid? With lyrics;) I probably have many other uploads you’d enjoy too👍
I loved this album when I was a kid but the song makes the argument that rioting is not effective and only backfires. But rioting has worked pretty effectively in the past and for sure in 2020.
He's making the point that when ppl riot, 9 times out of 10 they burn down their own neighborhoods. The establishment doesn't care if we burn down our own neighborhoods. And nothing changes. Also, what did it accomplish in 2020? Have you seen anything change? I've seen things only get worse and more ppl being pushed to the Right.
@@folkblacklyrics dude, you're right. I was on board with fuck the police, the brutality and racism, even if the last part never applied to me personally. Once people started burning local homes and businesses, ya'll lost me. Fuck that shit, it's exactly the sort of scumbag moves I expect from the pigs, not the common working man.

These guys were my favorite band as a teenager. Haven't heard them in years but can still recite every song by memory!
Yeah. I still listen to this album at least every other month or so.
I just played Cesspools In Eden last night on guitar I was worried about the song being 6 minutes with 3 verses and 3 solos but I nailed it
