@punkcorpse: So 93 people took the time to look at the track listing and times, but not to say 'Thank you'? How rude
thankyou
I had the cassette and the first song on side 2 was a very slow song…mostly talking called “The prey”. Most ‘In God we trust’ videos on YT don’t have it. Strange.
My favorite DK story: I was 13, and playing "Moral Majority" in my parents garage, when after Religious Vomit, beginning with soft start, my neighbor, thinking I had turned it off, screamed, "thank you!" only to be reward mere seconds later with, well, you know.
That is classic! :D
@@stuffedanimalmagickshop I grew up next to a record store, my dad taught me to use a record player cuz I'm a 2000's baby, bought this record used, and sold it back to the same store to get weed. Lol. Too much pot haha
I was about the same age jamming DK

We've Got a Bigger Problem Now is my pick for best punk rock song of all time
Here here .
I met Jello at Kinkos, 1991. I was working behind the counter. He was giving a Spoken Words Tour at CSULB. He personally invited me to the show. One of the highlights of my life.
Did you go? LOL
Dead Kennedys In God We Trust, Inc Album 2349pm 1.3.23 which band member from which ever band you care to mention - did you feel sorry for? serious question... we had a soft spot for the alleged woes of craig Scanlon and steve hanley from the fall - that's their monikers listed on the fucking records, anyway. they allus looked sad and embarrassed to be there. and klaus flouride, for some reason. he looked very much brow beaten as well as looking like he should have been in folk band. probably funny guys. but.. well, i dont know why... maybe it means their psychotic???? anyhow; oxbow 1st album is worth listening to. still an inaccessible record on a par with glue porch via those melvins kids.
This was the first DK record I bought - I was 13. When I first played it, my mother came in and said I had it on the wrong speed - lol. DK's were my favourite band all through my teens, and I still listen to them now a lot. I bought their albums as much for the inside artwork as for the music. They came to my home town when I was 14 and it was the first gig I ever went to. Jello got arrested lol. Their lyrics certainly opened my eyes to the world - made me research and fuck I learnt a lot!
The_Man_from_Epsilon_Crucis wrong Speed your mother says 😂👌
I was 14 years old in 88 'Poland.
I bought LP Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.
Vinyl record released in the communist, dying country.
I am happy today for these events.
Mine too...at the same age. My mom also tripped out on it. At 13, while I didn't really understand the message of bands like DK, all the aggression and raw energy of punk rock used to comfort me at that awkward age.
so funny. I was 12 year old, I played it first at 33rpm and it sound just a bit strange THEN I realised it was a 45rpm and it blew my mind...
Yeah I'm a bit younger BUT this is also the first one I bought, however, it was the CD with •Plastic Surgery Disasters• on it too!
Has aged VERY well! Recommended to fans of polka
👏
Isn't it amazing that punk and polka share same sonorities, p and k. Also that they basically share the same rhythm
And p k p k p k describes really well the kick snare relationship in this genre
13 minutes and something on the front side of the cassette and on the back it said please record what you want on this side... Genius
+Edward Snowden Damn I just commented that ha
Get I n tuch
"Home recording is ruining the music industry, we left this side blank so you can help"
My cassette copy has Dookie on the b side lol
Really? The original cassette had music on both sides with 3 extra songs included... What a deal!
RIP DH PELIGRO you’re a legend and will never be forgotten.
Seriously probably the very best drummer in all of punk rock history!
A great Drummer, what a great asset to the DK'S
Rip
home recording is killing the music industry so we left the other side blank for your convenience
That’s not a fulfilled prediction, is it now?
YES! Only the cassette owners will remember!
GARAGE
@@VapeSafe Sounds like yesterday. Yeah!
"We left this song side blank so you can help" not convenience and maybe they put out one too many lousy records and charged too much
I remember,when I was 15..... listen this....It was beautiful
it still is.
Plastic surgery Disaster is on my top ten list for best albums I ever heard.
This was the first dead Kennedys vinyl I bought, unbelievably I was also 12 years old at the time .I'd never heard anything like it! I still listen to it now & I'm 54

Fuck yeah. Melvins
Same here at 14 years old, and turning 55 next month. Still one of my top 5 albums/episodes of all time. With fresh fruit and plastic surgery in top 15.
Nothing else close to how good this was and still is. You listen to plastic surgery and fresh fruit lyrics still stand true today in 2023. Sad!!
Damm I’m 12 and you made me realise I need to enjoy life
Same here, 54 jamming in now. Not on vinyl but my phone.
This might be the most dense EP of all time, it feels like a full album despite being under 15 minutes in length.
Great point you're right!
I mean it probably would be if it wasn’t hxc
This and Opiate by Tool are the best eps ever imo
so true, the other side was blank so you could copy other tapes
Circle Jerks "Group Sex" was like that too. 14 songs 22 minutes
I worked very hard at Burger King at the lovely age of 15. I bought this albumwhen it first came out, with my first tiny paycheck.... it was confiscated by my Mom, she burned it. Beautiful and pure punk. Love. Thanks Tipper Gore😂 LUV U JELLO❤
hahaha how sad and cruel
My first DK tape. I loved the message on side B. By the end of side A I had the most painful cramps in my face from smiling.
It's amazing how this album stays relevant throughout the decades.
The cassette had 3 extra songs on it, what a deal!
What did you put on side b?
I love this fucking album
This album is even better stoned ! I met Jello once in Berkeley California at a Operation Ivy gig.
thought i was the only one, fuckin love this record and even more while stoned
The greatest example of hardcore ever recorded.cover art and blistering speed!!.this shit scared me when I was a kid!! thank you Mr.Biafra!
It’s boarder line goofy, hard to take seriously. Why most dk fans grow out of them
@@histatimaniples dont know of anyone who grew out of DK music...that statement is fake news respectfully
@@histatimaniples so why are you in the comments?
I like Klaus Fluoride's dog barks in "Dog Bite".
I like most human dog barking
"If we play at double speed, we can half the runtime on this record." Incredible. First time i heard it was when they added it on to plastic surgery disasters, that album was fast then this just went insane mode. Lyrics still very relevant today.
Was listening to this album as a Skate Rat when I was 14.
Calling yourself a Skate Rat is exactly what they're singing against
Was introduced to Punk when I was 14. This album ,Black Flag Damaged, Butthole Surfers Live PCP all in one day. Everything changed that day!
We found these albums in a local record store in 8th grade. Oddly that record store became a guitar shop later with a strong Capitalist bent.
In Belgium, still listening to this in 2024. Who else? let me know from where.

This was my introduction to the DK. I bought this on cassette when i was 12, and all these years later, it still kicks my ass!!! Best e.p. EVER!!!
What did u put on the b-side?
I had Land Speed Record on my copy, btw.

The album that made me punk. During the neocon years you could have changed only some of the names and it would ring perfectly true. Hardcore truth.
The quintessential Punk Rock tape. In sound, ethos, just every way possible.
found an original copy of this from 1981 for 9 euro.
Fun rock and roll album, noisy, anxious and surprisingly sounds good through the mobile phone. Lot of punch behind the little speaker. Don't forget the great artwork by Winston Smith, legendary SF underground college artist. The politics are as timely now as then. THE DK'S!

I was the only person listening to this record in the entire school - I was 15 - and my school friends thought I was an utter freak. Of course, they were listening to Duran, Spandau, Europop and all the rest of the steaming shit which populated the charts. Who had the taste then, eh?
Thanks for uploading this. We need it
When I was twelve I heard this on vinyl, my life has never been the same for better or worse, not sure? But until this I didn't know music could sound the way I feel!
2004, June. I was in HMV looking at the £3.99 cds. Saw this cover and it was love at first sight. I had to have it. Didn't know the band but I knew from the song titles, the band name and the cover that I would like this (and I vaguely remembered other bands I liked mentioning DK I thought). One of my all time favourite piece of cover art. I refuse to buy the Plastic Surgery Disasters double pack because it wastes this amazing cover art. My introduction to punk.
Such an amazing record, 15 minutes of righteous fury, a declaration of pure opposition to the entire Reaganist 80s, Jello spits in the face of the new mainstream of Religious psychos, millionaires, skinheads, nazis, cops, yuppies and every fucker else who Reagan gave new life to. The title isn't an accident, it's a statement of intent of how they see the new Reagan run USA and all its religious right trappings- not a government but a business that serves the rich and the rich alone and fuck everyone else. An angry rebuke to the selfish and greedy in 15 minutes at 250 bpm.
(also fun fact: Raw Hide is actually supposed to be an attack on the US Army and American foreign policy)
forerunner of thrash metal, as many including Jeff hanneman Slayer and Darkthrone and Bathory and many more stated punk bands serious influence on their playing, not heavy metal
exactly why do you think so many thrash metal bands like Megadeth have politically charged videos with anti-war and anti-religious views, clearly influenced by punk
classic. perfect.
Thanks for putting this up...
as a British boy I love Dead Kennedys my mum hates them to fast she says makes her feel sick got this on vinyl yesterday my mum got it of eBay she was sooo
Tired that day she didn’t put are home address in she put me nans 😂😂😂😂😂😂 now I I’m gonna play this every morning afternoon and night best hardcore punk record ever Dead Kennedys forever ❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was blessed with seeing DK live...twice! In the 80's when I was a lil whippersnapper. Best times of my life!!!
I have seen The Dead Kennedys twice in Liverpool.
Always loved Jellos live spoken word,it only goes to show how powerful the truth is...I think we lost truth after the 90s.
Anybody notice the "Green day","Dookie" album cover?...Yeah,that's my point if you can't figure what hacks Greenday really were...coming from an old school straight edge from the early 80s...just compare.
Awe, I got a bit baked,...found this...and laughed for a 1/2 hour.....thx for posting!
In 1985 I bought a DEAD KENNEDYS Nazi Punks, Moral Majority 45 FROM Tower Records. At the time my grandparents forced me to be an altar boy, and I hated life til I bought this DK 45, and I was set free.
Jello the true prophet
Nope, just a deliverer of the simple truth of it all. I don’t think he’d agree with the prophet label.
This is my favorite dead Kennedys album.
Needed this now
Thanks for uploading. I love this EP. A pity that those powerful song endings fade, don't know what happened in the upload process, but far better than nothing :-D
First heard this as a teen, along with birthday partys junkyard album and the clash first album. All of them blew me away but NOTHING had the raw agression of dead kennedys. Still love em to this day
This is classic superb Amazing
this was my first punk cassette, never herd (type for rawhide) anything as fast and furious before or since. DKs and Cruicifucks are the best bands of all time.
I LOVE IT !
Can't say I'm the biggest DKs fan but I prefer to listen to this in the slightly slower x75 speed. Makes it sound closer to the punk of Fresh Fruit instead of hardcore. Funny enough the songs sound more melodic and Jello sounds the same!
You're right. He does sound the same. LMAO
I have to try this
One of the best.hardcore LP's ever done?. killer?
Wikipedia nerd rant: This is considered an EP, which, annoyingly, prevents this important part of DK’s discography from being listed chronologically on their main Wikipedia page among their LPs (I had that edit reverted). Yet its longer than Agnostic Front’s “Victim in Pain”, which is considered an LP, and cannot be listed chronologically after their own EP “United Blood”.
This album is so raw. I love it!
A t shirt i like to wear on xmas Day
getting an in god we trust inc shirt for Xmas!
😂😂 Absolutely
Yeah I use to have it many moons ago we’ve got a bigger problem now was my favourite track...
Such a great album
Jello Biafra is the greatest lyricist of our time by far.
Herb Burnah - undeniable
Herb Burnah but he didn't recognize me from my dental charts
No way! The only good ones are on fresh fruit for rotting vegetables. Everything else sounds dry and boring

Out of touch I wish you still had your cassette copy of this album too.
Why you stash a sheet of acid in the cover?
Jello Biafra is Asmodeus and I dig everything about that!! This album made me who I am today: A sarcastic antiestablishment anticapitalist free-thinking goat!
We've got a much much much bigger problem now kids.............
This album and this band and jello alone has thought me that I can be outrageous and so absurd in rock

Man, 2017. Being 15 in the digital dogshit age buying my first vinyl, later to be drunk at 2 something in the mouring blaring this ripper, pogo dancing in my dads abandoned garage alone. Time flys, records get sold for speed, and regrets are made. Life.
People are talking about 12 and 14 yrs old. I musta been a late bloomer. Lol
I was 25 in the mid 80's when I found DK. I needed to listen to Bedtime, like five or six times before I heard it as music; the lyrics kept me coming back those six times. "Crash - Bang - Noise", then,
BAM: Music!
THEN I bought *all* their albums, well, cassettes, and didn't listen to much else for the next three or four years. Literally.
Legenda! Man w swoich zbiorach!@😲😲😲💞💞💞😍😍😍🤔🤠🤓😎

No the MIDDLE CLASS "Out Of Vogue" 7" was the first hardcore record. The D.O.A. "Hardcore 81" album was the first time the term was popularly used.
@@Andrew-kb4pxThe OUT OF OF VOGUE 7” was far too esoteric/obscure…. HARDCORE ‘81 just flat-out fucking sucks lol. And I’m Canadian! But compared to something like OUT OF THE WOMB by Dayglo Abortions? Meh.

That musta sucked. Sorry to hear...
