Okay but did anyone else notice she jumps out with a Hasselblad and then in the actual shoot she’s shooting with a canon?? I call Bullsh**

I almost appreciate ANTM for being so consistently offensive. It doesn’t sneak up on you, ya know? You just see the title or screenshot and you already know something is going to be problematic. It’s like an unintentional content warning.

Jessica, have you made a video yet where you explain the purpose of the portfolio and why they wouldn’t be able to use so many of these photos in them? I’m really curious on the process - maybe bring in one of your model friends to discuss it with you! Maybe watch a few ANTM shoots together and discuss the pros and cons of the shoots themselves and the technical component, and how the photos would hurt them more than help! (Same for the photographer!)

why do I feel like every time Tyra is the one to take the photos, its because no photographer wanted their name on the shoot

As an adult i realized that none of these shoots were worthy to be in the portfolio! I used to be so confused when they went on go-sees and the people used to be underwhelmed and disgusted 😂 like you’re not impressed by my circus photoshoot when i was dressed as an elephant???

You know the bar is low when it's actually impressive that the models were given any kind of direction from the photographer..

So far there hasn't been one episode without gaslighting & manipulations. I can't believe this show lasted this long

ANTM is turning Jessica into a psychotherapist y'all, those analyses on how they're communicating with the contestants is spot on.

The only reason they did that to Jenna is because they wanted an excuse to eliminate her. Because she was a great model and took good pictures throughout the cycle so they had to find another reason to eliminate her.

In judging, Tyra puts on her therapist voice to get Jenah to open up and then they use that against her.

Hey Jessica. My ethnicity is Hmong. We are minorities mostly scattered in China, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Depending on the region we reside in, our clothing and dialect are similar but very different at the same time because it gets influence by the area we live in.

From a psychological standpoint, the comeback of “We ALL want to be home” to her saying she’s homesick is SO INVALIDATING. It completely shoots down the persons feelings and belittles them as not important. As if they are not allowed to feel that way because everybody does too.

As a Mongolian, I can tell that the main elements of the clothing were based on our tribes' traditional garments. Every time we're mentioned, I always know how they're going to portray us. Whenever I talk to Americans I can tell its what they imagine as well - because it's the only version of us that's ever been in mainstream media.

I listened to a podcast today called "Anything you say." It's about police interrogation and the tactics they use (Reid technique), I found that most of it can be applied to this episode and others. Basically, the interrogation officers present exaggerated or fabricated evidence to try and force a confession. There is also manipulation, coercion, and contamination (when an interrogator offers specific details on a case to a suspect to trick them into acknowledging something they had no clue about). They also talked about how interrogators use empathy to trick the suspects into thinking they are on their side on other episodes.

After rewatching ANTM as an adult I always hated when they would tell the girls they “don’t know who they are” or that “they don’t seem confident/comfortable in their own skin.”

As a Mongolian (aka "the Hun"), here's my answer to common questions I get:

There's no way Tyra is editing the photos. Especially because I can't imagine them not bringing it up if she was, complimenting the editing in judging etc. And also I agree with you, the small manipulation tactics seem so transparent to me now...

I feel like if Jessica were to run a new Next Top Model show, it would be like the Great British Bake Off of reality shows. Everyone is nice and encouraging and it is lovely to watch.
