Wanted to say thank, I watched this video which helped me make my game plane. Left confident from my interview and today they called to discuss my remuneration package. Thank you
Don you have a very good way of getting a point across. It was good advice not only because a solution was offered but it shows your a caring thinker and someone who can do the job.
Don't forget to prep for an interview before you offer advice. It can easily backfire if you are not familiar with the problem and a few proven possible solutions. . Good luck with the interview 🤑
@@DonGeorgevich I had the opportunity to intentionally try this. During a recent interview I asked a lot questions and uncovered a potential problem that the company had not considered. At a previous job, we had the same problem, so I was able to explain how to address the issue to mitigate and possibly eliminate the problem. Right then and there, the hiring manager solidified the decision to hire me. Boom! Your advice worked. Thanks!
Good topic Don. Taking this approach can remove the anxiety we get leading up to the conversation. It's true, I always ask: What's going well? What are the critical problems or challenges? From this point, I can target what skills they're looking for and give an example as to how I've solved that problem.
Great video. I'd like to see future videos on the other laws of persuasion. His other book Pre-suaion may be applicable too as there are many things you can do before the interview even begins to increase your odds. For example, making connections, having existing employees vouch for you, etc.
Yes. Often I will see it is likely a good fit. So my frame of reference is more like my first day on the job instead of an interview. I ask specific questions, provide input, share stories related to past work which I feel will resonate. Of course I didn't do that when I started out as I didn't have the knowledge and experience to do it. Via phone or Zoom it is much more difficult but hopefully if/when I want to do it next time things will be more open. I also have more difficulty with recruiter screeners vs hiring managers who actually are the ones who will be working with me.
I would sell my right leg to become your assistant! You are a font of valuable information!! I would sign an oath to continue passing it forward. We could change the job force in short order.
Gave all the answers to the interviewers questions and all were of top notch quality answers to the point and I answered only one question partially and told them that I know only this much and don't know much but will read and understand and get it understood but all other questions were answered like a pro. Later after 5 days got a regret mail. 3 people including the hiring manager were in the interview on MS Teams app to take the interview with me. I'm really disappointed with this outcome. Please guide me. Thanks.
In this new age of covid, 5 interviews being told you are over qualified, what do you do? Play stupid or just look for a proper employer even tho you are a perfect fit with 15+ years of f experience
Do you really wanna play stupid for companies who wouldn’t want to utilize your skills and experience? Should be a note to move on and search for a company that will appreciate what you bring and be prepared to pay you what you deserve
Not Don, but if you are that qualified, and willing to relocate, I'd say broaden your area and look for specific jobs that fit that criteria. Just my 2 cents..
What they are doing by saying you are overqualified is expressing their concern about your interest in the job. They are concerned you will get bored, leave the position as soon as something better comes up, or expect a promotion very soon. It costs a lot of money to hire and replace. It is not an insult, quite the opposite - you got through five interviews and they are telling you that you meet their criteria, plus more. But are you a flight risk? You need to talk to them about why you are excited about this position despite being overqualified, and how you see yourself staying in and developing in that specific position over the next 5 years. It can be a really good employer, this is not an insult, it is a fair concern, that you need to turn around to become another positive attribute of hiring you. ;)
I am doing a research about psychlogical contract and it is all about reciprocity that led to the fact that either employee or employer is expecting from each other

I love this channel. I’ve been forwarded to part 2 of a job I really want. I’m a little nervous because I know I can do the work it’s parallel to the work I’ve done in the past. I am on furlough from a hospital, anyways, I start searching. Last week I had a call from a potential employer, I had no idea of that company, when they ask, I got confused. Literally that hurt the phone interview. I send an email to my former boss and she replied that she will bring me back shortly, I don't know what that means, do you?
If anyone sees this can you help me with something? My job interview was Tuesday but I thought it was Wednesday so I completely missed it. So I asked if I could reschedule and the recruiter said she would work to get me rescheduled with the hiring manager. But even if she does get back with me would there even be a chance I would get the job? I'm hurting and so mad at myself. I really wanted the job.

Nice advice to leave a solution behind. In a job interview🤔 And if they do not select you. Shame in them, such valuable information.
