    I thought at the end of the video you were going to split it in two with an ax xD
    It's a shame it didn't work, I hope you can fix it and it works as it should with a Bios update.

      I have too much respect and too much sentiments towards computer hardware to split a motherboard with an ax.. maybe a future BIOS update will fix the issues because I didn't spot any immediate hardware failure.

    I had the locking of the system after CPU stress test happen on MSI 9th gen motherboard as well. A different 9th gen CPU solved the issue and the CPU I removed that was locking up the system also worked fine in another machine. Crazy.

      @@MiyconstI've used Maxsun and Soyo AM4 mobos for many of my builds, and they work great. I did encounter 1 issue that happened on a Soyo A520m mobo, where the PWM stops working after waking from sleep mode. Not the end of the world but it works again if you shut the pc down and boot it back up again. Everything else worked fine though, I ran it with 3700x and 5600x CPUs and no other issues. But Maxsun B450m challenger is around the same price, and gives you a bit more control in the BIOS, and had no issues with PWM.

    Amazing review, and trash mbu as said. I had the "luck" to buy this mbu for a "cheap" for an itx board, and from the first minute it powered on, i got really mad. It posted straight away, but my gskill 3600mhz ram didn't work at 3600, and neither at 3200, no matter how many retries or spent time messing with timings. The vrm cooler size was a problem for me too, but my 3rd cooler, noctua l9x65 with a little bit of force was mounted just fine. Now, for the worst, the usb's. For me, the 3.2gen1 (5gbps blue) worked fine with my stack of pssd's, but the 3.2gen2 (10gbps red) made me furious. Out of 6 pssd's, some on rtl9210b, some on jms583, and a samsung t7, all capable of 10gbps, NONE! worked, and any test resulted in speeds like 10-15mbps. Fiddling with the bios was pointless, as the seller support, that after many days of "investigation" was like "our test board works fine, so you need to send yours for diagnostics". Such a trash product...

    Most of the issues you described also happen with my MSI B760M Mortar Max (China-exclusive model), especially the nonfunctioning sleep mode and cold-boot loop. I had everything set to factory default, and it still tells me "overclocking failed" almost every time, requiring me to enter and exit the BIOS once to boot into Windows. Waking up from sleep is hit-and-miss, but mostly miss (only works about 30% of the time).
    My guess is there was a bad batch of B760 chipset used by the Chinese manufacturers, so I would just avoid Chinese B760/Z790 boards altogether.

    • @Miyconst
      @Miyconst  6 місяців тому

      Jaha, having these issues with MSI is something new. Did you try to RMA your board? A defective B760 chipset could certainly cause such problems.

    • @manaphylv100
      @manaphylv100 6 місяців тому

      @@Miyconst I would RMA it, but I bought it on Taobao and the cost to ship back to China isn't worth it.
      It works fine once booted into Windows. It's just annoying that I have to enter and exit the BIOS almost every time. It's doubly annoying that none of those issues exist on the global non-Max model, so I guess it's either a bad batch of chipset, or a problem with the clockgen chip they used (which can supposedly overclock by BCLK, but only works for 12th gen).
      I don't think I have a bad board, because a lot of people have the same complaints on Chinese forums.

    • @Miyconst
      @Miyconst  6 місяців тому +1

    • @manaphylv100
      @manaphylv100 5 місяців тому

      @@Miyconst I did some more messing around with it, and it's definitely a design flaw.
      It works perfectly fine with the H0 chips (i3s and some i5s), but the C0 chips give it trouble.
      I tested two i5-12400Fs, one C0 and one H0, with the exact same BIOS settings (stock and 5 GHz with 125 x 40, +175 mV). The H0 one boots the first time every time, and sleeps/wakes fine, but the C0 one exhibits all the issues I found earlier.
      I also tried a 12490F and a 12900TE (both C0 only) at stock and 5 GHz, same problems. Whereas the 12100T and 12600T (both H0 only) work perfectly at stock and 5 GHz.
      I have a 13400T (C0 only) on the way. Will see how it handles 13th-gen CPUs that ignore the external clockgen.

    Have you checked the voltages? It's not hard nor expensive to do. Get yourself a multimeter for 10euros and a bit of wire (or 2 paper clips will do) and backprobe all of the 12v, 5v and just in case 3.3v lines. It will take you less time to do that than to make trash for content, plus you can get back what you paid for it.

    Had the same interaction with Erying today in regards to a 12800h board that arrived dead on arrival. I tested every which way and submitted video. The board did nothing and the power supplies would never get a power request from board. No indicator lights. Nothing warm, no power going on from various quality psu’s. Multiple memory sticks used in a variety of confines you name it. They even ask I take it to a tech to flash the soldered on bios. To which I replied how could a bios get corrupted if they shipped it working? Read and flashed it any way with two different programmers. Showed pictures show same bios was present and they insisted I need to take it a technician (not myself) Asked for pcb documentation none given. Asked if they would like to take it back to learn from it. No response. More concerned about getting an admission that yes their 24 pin was too tight no matter the psu and that likely stress the pcb and solder connections causing the issue. Wish them and their customers the best of luck in a prayer.

      Yup, ERYING is something to stay away from.

      They refuse to take the board back even to check their work or quality control. Stating it’s outside the 2 week warranty window and that’s the end of discussion. Continue to point blame at me for using their product as it’s meant to be used and not just something to look at.

    Stay away from Erying , their products are half baked , if something doesn't work then Ali seller blames you for their crappy products not working.

      AliExpress sellers are ridiculous sometimes.
      I had one tell me recently that an RX 6400 GPU is not compatible with a Ryzen 3600 CPU. 🙄
      Unfortunate about Erying, though. I've kinda been eyeballing them for a while.

    I've used 2 different 11th gen Erying boards now. The i9 and i7 versions. Littered with problems is what they are. Support sucks. Honestly I can't ever see me going with this brand again.

      Again and again I get confirmation that it's not just my experience, the whole range of ERYING products is full of issues. Thanks for the info.

      @@Miyconst yes. Getting drivers is one of the worst for these boards. Almost no GPU functions correctly with it.

      @@Miyconst is Erying related to Jginyue?
      Just surprised since Erying has made decent products in the past.
