I saw one of those trucks today and wondered how my 10'6 Bigfoot would look. Now I know. Those OEM scissor stairs are of course complete crap, but a nice back porch will help along with 7 or maybe 8 stairs from Torklift.
I asked because it looked to not be all the way forward against the cab, which could mean the centre of gravity of the camper is behind the rear axle putting a bit of uplift on the front of the truck. Just curious. That is definitely a BIG truck. What made you interested in it rather than something like a F450?
Yes is all the way forward. The 4500 chassis is a little longer than a 2500 or 3500 so the box front is a few inches thicker, leaving a little more space from the back of the cab. We were long for a pre def diesel. I'm sure a Dodge or Ford could be an option also.
Someone is going to need an uppy up step. When I am “stealth parking” I have a short aluminum step ladder I pickup up and keep inside. Shut the door - is the rig parked or “camping”?
Hahaha, yes, I am!! We will have a small step ladder with us as well. Gord is currently planning out a pull out deck, which will make getting in and out of the camper, so much better ☺️
Thank you for watching!! Be sure to check out our entire renovation series here👇

Ya. We may have to splurge for the torklift stairs. Definitely something better than the ones we have
@@TheTimeIsNowAdventures It is indeed a $plurge. I am certain you need a back porch too.
Wow to high. That is going to be a hand full diving. 44s are going to be to much. I am watching this lol 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦
Thanks for watching. We'll see what happens
Maxxair makes some nice vents that come with an low profile integrated cover with an automatic rain sensor. Spendy but might be worth it in your case.
Maybe for a future upgrade. We'll live with them as they are for now. Thanks for watching.
Great episode !!
Thank you Kyle 😊
Is the trailer centre of gravity still ahead of the rear axel on that type of truck?
The camper is designed for an 8ft box truck, as this is. This is a much heavier built truck than is required though.
