    Best way to balance those kind of tires or the beads inside the tire or the dyna beads that are in the ring that mount to the hub. Had on my 2003 for over 15 years and never had a balancing issue. Especially for high speed driving. Trying to do all the other methods always had vibrations

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures 2 дні тому

      Glad the beads worked out for you. I've used them in several trucks and never had consistent results. I think they are great if you're picking up mud etc in your wheels though. Thanks for commenting.

    @charlesb4267 2 дні тому

    I don't suppose Goodyear has a highway speed rated inflation chart for those tires ?, conversely a low speed inflation chart for off road. I would imagine once you have the camper in, the front won't need more air but the rear will will need ... again, hard to know what pressure it will require as one doesn't want to run under inflated and yet not way over inflated. I get the impression that far too many HD trucks ( talking 3/4 and 1 ton ) are putting way too much air pressure in when not really loaded down much and just suffers from a rough ride and beating up the truck and passengers for nothing.

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures 2 дні тому

      A chart could be handy to get a starting point but using an infra red heat gun to measure tread temperature seems to work well. Adding about 5 in the front and 15 in the rear seems close with the camper loaded. I'm sure we'll fine time that a little more when we get traveling soon.

      Yes. I've talked to Pat at HD shocks about front springs. Shipping cost from California would have been steep though. We may still get them when we are down that way this winter. To be honest though, the shocks were a major improvement in ride and I'm not super keen on lifting the front another 1.5 or two inches.... I'm on the fence.

    Why not go with Bouge RV flex panels? Or monocrystalline panels? You could do two 530w mono and a 200w BRv flex panel up front in that space.

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures 13 днів тому

      These are the panels I found that fit the space that were easily available in Canada. I'm sure there are other options that could work out though. I did not consider flex panels. They would be a simple solution, but from what I understand, are more affected by efficiency loss from heat and I wanted to keep the option open to tilt the panels when the sun is low in the winter. Thanks for watching.

    This is a little bit of the subject at hand , but when you replaced the fridge with the Unique ,does the door open enough,so you can remove the shelves in fridge?

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures 16 днів тому

      Good observation. No, it doesn't. The hinge/door has to be removed to make shelf adjustments. We may have to do that once we use the fridge a bit more and determine what items go where.

    • @SvenJonasson-ro7rk
      @SvenJonasson-ro7rk 16 днів тому

      Thanks for reply to ref door ? . I have the same model BF 1997 . Also went w the Unique 2years ago, perfect no problem. Added solar, renogy 50amp DC to DC , SOK206amp batt, renogy 2000w pure sin, 5 100w rich panels, tiltabel. Everything inside, controller,switches,fuses mounted on the side of propane box,battery under sink, inverter in the closet . Left the existing system in place just removed the batteries and taped the wires, hardwired the inverter to existing generator wires, the white 3conductor that goes to the box in the“shore power compartment “ . So basically I have dual system’s . By the way, your install,nice clean and organized.

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures 15 днів тому

      Sounds like you have a great setup. I never thought of factory generator option. Obviously that's what the 12 ga wire was for. They must have installed a transfer switch near the show power plug when the generator option was installed. Thanks for watching.

    • @SvenJonasson-ro7rk
      @SvenJonasson-ro7rk 14 днів тому

      My 12ga gen cable,now my inverter cable, terminated in a receptacle box so now I just plug the shore power cable in to receptacle when of grid . This is for “What it is Worth” file. I had water intrusion in the gen compartment when heavy rain ,solved it by installing a aluminum drip rail just above. Rail like above your entryway. Above all the other doors inc all windows added Stick On Driprail. The trick w stick on rail is to scratch and clean area well and get wall and rail real hot and roll out real good. Another problem was the fresh water tank. Had a water leak, opened up the bottom , the tank a 50gal L shaped polyethylene tank ,secured w only 3 straps, one had ripped out . Not a good arrangement, so I added 3 more straps ,also installed a tank heater on Fw tank, installed a SeeLevel Monitor system since I had the bottom opened. Appreciate you documenting your Project.

    Water must be kept out of the bilges in fibreglass tub style campers. I drilled small drain holes in the corners of the bottom of my ‘86 Bigfoot. A catastrophic plumbing leak which drained 6 or 7 gallons of water into the interior was easy to clear up - park ass end down and let it drain. Then apply 5 months of desert boondocking in low humidity and it was dry as can be. :)

    Ares is 15 Forest River with frameless windows. I took them out 3 years ago they have rubber gasket on the frame. So cleaned them up put back in and sealed them silicone. We never have leaks we check them 2 times a year. Awesome video 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦

    What do you drag race I see NHRA stickers. I raced JR’S for years lol awesome video 🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦

      We don't drag race. The sticker was on the motorhome when we purchased it lol. The people we bought it from were heavily involved with the Jr drags.

    Great video. Dont forget to run a thin wire in all the window water vents at the bottom of the windows, old style windows only. I have rebuilt a couple rv’s now.

      Good catch! We completely forgot to mention that. Gord checked all of the drains on our windows, and all were clear. Checking them is a good habit to get into. Thanks for watching.

    Maxxair makes some nice vents that come with an low profile integrated cover with an automatic rain sensor. Spendy but might be worth it in your case.

    I saw one of those trucks today and wondered how my 10'6 Bigfoot would look. Now I know. Those OEM scissor stairs are of course complete crap, but a nice back porch will help along with 7 or maybe 8 stairs from Torklift.

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures Місяць тому

      Ya. We may have to splurge for the torklift stairs. Definitely something better than the ones we have

    • @bob_frazier
      @bob_frazier Місяць тому

      @@TheTimeIsNowAdventures It is indeed a $plurge. I am certain you need a back porch too.

    Is the trailer centre of gravity still ahead of the rear axel on that type of truck?

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures Місяць тому

      The camper is designed for an 8ft box truck, as this is. This is a much heavier built truck than is required though.

    • @haraldkrueger7775
      @haraldkrueger7775 Місяць тому

      I asked because it looked to not be all the way forward against the cab, which could mean the centre of gravity of the camper is behind the rear axle putting a bit of uplift on the front of the truck. Just curious. That is definitely a BIG truck. What made you interested in it rather than something like a F450?

    • @TheTimeIsNowAdventures
      @TheTimeIsNowAdventures Місяць тому

      Yes is all the way forward. The 4500 chassis is a little longer than a 2500 or 3500 so the box front is a few inches thicker, leaving a little more space from the back of the cab. We were long for a pre def diesel. I'm sure a Dodge or Ford could be an option also.
