Wowe! This really did turn out fantastic Addam! Runs really well too! It zips right along!
Thanks for taking us inside and out!✌🏻😃 it looks fun!
Thanks Robby! Late happy Birthday too! I saw it on FB but forgot to respond and I just remembered! I think this one turned out really nice looking and drives better than I expected! I am very happy!
The car came out great. It looks great and I appreciate all the details. I helped build one back in the late 80's but I don't recall all the details, but your explanation was excellent.
I am glad you enjoyed it and hope it brought back some fond memories! I love the way it turned out and it ran better than I expected it to!
Great build Addam and very interesting explainations. The rig runs very awesome, too
Thank you Dirk! I think it looks great and despite how it felt on the bench it drove very well! I am very happy overall with the way it turned out!
That body looks super sharp; well done Addam!👍😊
Thanks! I think the black on red with the chrome wheels gives it a really nice and tough look! It drove surprisingly well for as bouncy as it felt on the bench!
The bushings will wear grooves into the rear axles quickly. The metal is really soft. Definitely get some bearings! Also, they will easily snap also if you flip the car and it lands wrong! Bandido/Pegasus/Icarus axles can be hard to find. These are neat little cars and they really bring back some memories!
Thank you for the tips! I don't plan on running this one often at all. I have the Pegasus to get cleaned up and running and that one is already a bit beat up so that will be my running car. I will get the bearings on that one! I know some of the parts are scare due to the price of them!! Take care and glad it brought back some memories for you and thanks again for the tips!
That turned out looking awesome "Wow that looks Sick!!!" were the words that I said when I saw it👌🏆.
The whole layed bacb body design with its stripes is so slick.
Nice build Addam👌🦘🇦🇺
Thank you! I was really happy with the way it looks. The black and red look good together and those chrome wheel really pop! I was also pleased with how well it drove and it did not bounce all over the place!
@@AddamsPlayground
Lucky you could get the chrome wheels, they make it look top class.
I was surprised how well it ran too. It's going to look awesome on the shelf with your collection mate
Looks superb Addam you’ve done a cracking job on it and it runs great (for what it is) I had a Pegasus a while back and it was a fun thing to see it bouncing around . Stella work as always another fine addition to the collection.
Thanks Andy!! I really love the black, red and chrome all together. It looks pretty tough! I was surprised too with how well it drove seeing as how bouncy it was on the bench! I have a Pegasus here to clean up and get running and that one will go around the track since it is already all scuffed up on the bottom. That'll be a "next year" project though. Take care and merry Christmas!!
Hey Addam, this one looks stunning mate! Plus it looks like it drives really nicely too! Very cool 😎
Thanks Craig!! It really turned out looking pretty good and the black, red and chrome give it a cool, tough look! It ran around pretty well which was nice to see considering how bouncy it was on the bench!!
Bro your work is on point traxxas should give you a job every kit you build looks mint 👌 well done on another top build 👊
LOL! Thank you! I think it turned out looking really cool and the black, read and chrome looks very nice together! It ran much better than I expected too!!
Looks great Addam nice job.. 😊 👍🤩🏅
Thanks Pete! I am happy with the way it turned out and the way it drives! I was expecting it to bounce all over but it did really well!
Another cool retro kit. Well presented mate. I love the wheels
Thank you! The chrome wheel really look good on it and I may have to find another set for my Pegasus rebuild coming up in a little while!
That’s awesome, I built one back in 1987!
It is a really neat and great looking buggy. I am really glad I went with the black option as it turned out looking amazing! The flexible suspension pivots are the oddest thing but work very well. Glad you enjoyed the blast from the past!
It looks Awesome Addam definitely bouncy but it seemed to get around pretty good Great video
I was happy with the run, I expected it to be bucking and bouncing badly and it ran pretty well all things considered! I think the black paint was the way to go and it looks great with the chrome wheels over the white (well off white really) wheels it comes with.
G'day Adam that thing looks so good looks FAST on the shelf wouldn't change a thing on it. Lol driving you did make it look fun and it wasn't handling that bad with it's Kangaroo suspension lol. It's a nice one for the collection mate 👍
Thanks!! I love the way it turned out and it drive surprisingly well! I was expecting it to bounce and bound all over but it was way smoother than I imagined it was going to be. Once I get the Pegasus cleaned up and ready for action it will get run around the track and get a time for the board! Take care!!
Never heard of it, but it turned out looking fantastic and runs well all things considered. Quite impressed. Nice job.
Thanks! I think it turned out looking really cool and the black, read and chrome looks very nice together! It ran much better than I expected too!! It is the same as the Kyosho Pegasus if you have ever hear of it, just a different body set. Thanks again and take care!
I like it mate, great job and yes very Hornet looking.
Thanks! I think the red, black and chrome give it a cool, tough look to it! It drove pretty well considering how it looked on the bench!
Does look sweet painted, wish modern cars looked as good as the 80/90’s buggies
I did really come to life with the body all done up! I am loving the black, red and chrome look, it gives it a really tough look to it!
COX is a magic name!
I am learning more and more about them. I just knew they made glow engines of all sizes but just learning about all the other stuff they have done.
@@AddamsPlayground Me too
That is a nice one right there. You have some creative problem solving on these my friend.
That's why I love these things! I learn a little more with each one and each experience!
I am loving your content. So many different manufacturers that have never been on my radar.
Awesome! I am happy to hear it and more stuff in the works so lots more stuff coming, old and new!
@@AddamsPlayground Excellent stuff... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from here in the UK
@@rivierarc Thank you and wishing you the same! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!!
The black looks great It reminds me of my radio shack golden arrow
Thanks! The black looks a lot better then the yellow on main box art. Makes it look a bit tougher! It is a cool little buggy and about on par with the golden arrow on performance. Those "living hinges" on the suspension arms are really neat. I am not sure what cancer causing plastic they are made out of of but they are tough and last a very long time.
@@AddamsPlayground Cancer causing plastic lol
Nice job what a fun buggy! Happy Christmas Addam 😉👍
Thank you!! I love the way it turned out and it ran much better than I expected! Take care and wishing you a very merry Christmas as well!
@@AddamsPlayground 😎🍻👍
Looks great man, Awesome job!!!!!
Thanks!! I think the black and red with the chrome wheels was the right thing to do! It looks tough for a more entry level buggy from back in the day! It ran pretty well too!!
@@AddamsPlayground Black & Red does look good with those chrome wheels. Happy Holidays Addam to you & family!!!!
Cool buggy, great work, looks awesome and great run
Thanks bud, I am really happy with the way it turned out and pleased with the way it drove. I was expecting it to drive much bouncier but it did well!
Great build. Always cool to see some of the kits you build. Merry Christmas
Thank you! This one turned out nice and I was surprised on how well it ran! More fun stuff coming for 2023!! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!!
Nice work!
Thank you!! I am very happy with the way it turned out and drove!!!
This was my first rc car!!!
I remember seeing them back in the day but never saw one in person! It is a great looking buggy and drives surprisingly well! I love how this turned out and I also have the Pegasus I recently got going and I am working on another one of the cars on this same chassis. It was cool that they made multiple cars on this chassis and they all look so different.
Looks awesome and runs much better than I thought it would! Very cool!
Thanks and I was surprised on the drive too! I thought it was going to be hopping all over the place! I do love the black paint and the chrome wheels, give it a nice tough look to it!
@@AddamsPlayground It did great! Have a Merry Christmas!
@@mikesrcgarage You too!
Looks great and preformed pretty good I thought. I'm a chrome fan too and polished or brushed aluminum fan. Cold down here too. Lol.
I love the way it turned out and it did surprise me a bit on how well it ran after the bouncy bench test! I am glad the chrome wheel were all i could find as they look really sharp with the black and red buggy! It is bitter cold today, woke up to 8 degrees and had to go out and cut up a fallen tree from all the wind yesterday! The work warmed me up well though!
Wow that looks killer
Thanks! I think the black was the way to on the body, gives it a really tough look! It drove surprisingly well too! I was expecting a lot more bouncing out of that rear end!
@@AddamsPlayground it has a really racy look to it
Had the same issue with the servo saver rod ends with my Road Runner... Tamiya got it right! Great video brother.
Yeah, it just seemed all wrong and a little tweaking and the Tamiya servo saver it all work well now. I really like the way it looks too, I was nicely surprised on how tough it looks!
That buggy runs a lot faster than I was expecting it to, it's not all that slow.
It drives pretty well! I was expecting it to b geared a little slower and be hopping around all over the place but it did rather well! I love the look of it too, it is rather unique looking and the black paint scheme worked well!
Nice job it came out real sharp looking, From how you shown it bounce on the table it actually ran 50 times better than I thought it would ... it ran pretty nice! Is this the one you said the front A arms have to actually bend to make the front suspension work? I was thinking it may be stiffer because the plastic probably was more pliable back in the day? also on the steering servos so do have the mounting tabs further up and further back on the servo casings in the kits most times for mounting servos they have a option ware you flip the servo mount blocks around one way that pushes the servo more forward or backward depending on what side you use on them to mount the servo and it will make it work for the two types of servos, but this may not have even had this option? Merry Christmas Addam!
Yes, I was really surprised on how well it drove for how bouncy the rear was on the bench! It does have the flexible hinge front arms and they are a bit stiff but it didn't seem to bother it too much out running either. I could see sometimes where it looked a bit rigid but overall it did very well. I did think about putting the servo behind the posts but honestly I did not like the factory servo saver set up as it was so terribly long it just looked like it wanted to break so I swapped out for the Tamiya one. I had a Kimbro one here to that would have worked but since this one is not going to get run to often I decided to save that for another build if needed. Have a very Merry Christmas as well Steve!!!
I personally think kyosho should come back out with this car and the Icarus.
They may but I kind of doubt it. It would be cool.
There is a joke here somewhere about going outside to play with your Cox...
I am just not sure if the jokes are hiding in the front end of your Cox which needs to be pushed on to get it to work or all the references to greasing your Cox...it is like the whack-a-mole of jokes here. Well, it is like that in my head! 🤪
I can just imagine you sitting there laughing like Peter Griffin!!!!! LOL!!
@@AddamsPlayground 100% !!! Possibly even Beavis and Butthead too.
...heh...heh...heh...
@@canuckchuck8836 LOL!! heheh, he said Cox...
Next year you should cut your grasses short as they do on a golf course.
You have to have the golf course grass to do that and in the woods I am never going to have nice grass
I hate the HOBBYWING switches that come with them.. especially in a Tamiya situation where they’re designed for a full size switch
Yeah it is a pain. I jst keep forgetting to find a good replacement for the switch, I know they have to sell packs of them cheap, I just have not written it down (until just now) to go seriously searching for them!
@@AddamsPlayground I save all the switches from my radio shack conversions, because they’re the old school size, but I need to get some wire that’s the same gauge so I can extend those short wires on the hw
Didn’t handle too bad actually
Yeah, I was expecting a lot of bouncing and iffy steering but it works really well!! So I have much bigger hopes for the pegasus and that it may do OK out on the track once I just that one done. The Falcon is up next for getting stripped down, cleaned up and and new body on it!
@@AddamsPlayground I’m trying to decide which one is next after the clod, the golden arrow, or the falcon.. can’t decide 😁
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers it is a good problem to have!! Either one is a fun one!!
@@AddamsPlayground we also have Grayson’s kit to build.. plus he got a wpl kit to build too but we will see how well he can follow instructions lol 😂
Nooo track run.😂
