  • This is for the @poorboysrc 2024 MF-01x speed run challenge.
    I got lucky and we had a good break in between the rainy days so I charged up the battery went back out to the large parking lot for one last try.
    I am running a 5200mah ZEE 3s battery, a Caste Side Winder 4 ESC and the Castle 7700kv motor in this video. I was hoping to hit 70mph and ended up with a 74mph run so I am very happy! A new personal speed record for me on any car so it was a good day! The second attempt we had a tire failure but it did come home in one piece so it was a win.
    You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

    Oh wow Addam, that's some acheivement right there! And you also made sure that you gave us a walk of shame too! 😂😂 Good job that first run was fast before the tyre decided to go it's own way!!! Congrats my friend, you did a great job! 🤝👏😎👍

      I was so happy to see that 74 pop up on the screen! I had set a goal for 70 and I was not going to stop until it did it or went up in flames trying! It was a huge relief as it is the fastest I have been with one yet and it also meant I could stop trying to go fast LOL!!! I am glad the tire held on for the first run and that is the worst of it. I have seen the foam tires shred off the wheels but have not seen on roll off like this one before. It made for a funny ending to it all! You did get the long distance walk of shame in there too!

    That was a rocket! 74 mph flying! I actually think the slight dampness helped with it gripping and not flipping when it got out of control. looks like the front toe out helped it too! Nice job Addam!

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  7 днів тому +1

      It did track a lot straighter with the front toe out. Still wanting to tumble slowing it down but it is over and it came home in one piece! I will strip the electronics out of it and retire it just as it is. Kind of my own personal best trophy. The wreckage from the first one will get rebuilt into the beetle and get run at a much slower pace!!

    So awesome Addam. Glad you could get out there and do a real official run! When you did that first pass at 74MPH that motor sounded like it had A LOT more in it to give. Good thing you were at a big open parking lot for the run this time. Seems like the faster you go the more width of space you need. Anyway…awesome to you out there again and what a great run…congrats!

      The big parking lot got very small fast once it gets up to speed! I had to hit the brakes a bit harder than I wanted to on the first run ending in the tumble but it was better than tearing into the woods! Thanks again and have a great week!

    Hi there Addam and Gina!👩🤠. A massive congratulations on your 74 mph mate, well done🏁🍻. Hopefully you can take out the prize for most spectacular crash and carnage😃. Thanks to Gina and yourself for going all out and for all your great speed run challenge video's mate, we saw some crazy unexpected spin outs and tumbles and Ingrid even got right into the crash investigation side of things when things went belly up, it was a bunch of fun seeing my girl smile, laugh and cringe at your action then she'd try to investigate and come up with reasons why your beast crashed, so proud of her getting right into the video's and having fun. We hope you both are well and enjoying life 👍👩😁🦘👧

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  5 днів тому +1

      Thanks guys! I am glad you both enjoyed it and Ingrid could play a bit of a sleuth trying to investigate the crash. Honestly I think the first one in this run was me getting on the brakes too hard. I realized the big parking lot gets a lot small at those speeds and the bottom of the lot was coming up a lot faster than I expected it to! I figured better to brake hard and tumble than see it flying into the tress! The second time was the tore rolling off the wheel, I think it was coming off mid run and that is why it started pulling left towards the van. I was counter steering a lot at the end and when I let off the throttle it just spun round and round. Thankfully nothing catastrophic and it does not have to be rebuilt. This one is going to live on the shelf just as it is (minus the go-fast electronics) as my own personal trophy of the event and the fastest I have gone so far. It is kind of ironic the dinky 4wd rally chassis is my fastest car! LOL!
      I am glad you both enjoyed the runs and I am relieved it is over for now. I can get back to going slow and being happy about it! LOL! Take care guys and have a wonderful week!

    Pretty darn nice run. I like the paint job on your car, I’m glad you were able to keep it in one piece this time. That 3s battery looked like a mighty tight fit though. I don’t have a UA-cam channel (I actively avoid getting my picture taken), but doing those speed runs looks like fun. I only have one on road car, I might get another, I haven’t decided yet. Since I am not competing in anything I can get whatever I want.

      Thanks! I was completely stumped on the paint scheme and I reached out to Nathaneal at MCI and he thought up the idea and sent the decals over to make it work. I love it and it is going up on the shelf just as it is minus the motor and esc. Those will get reused for the next challenge! Speed runs are fun to see what you can get out of them but it is costly both in go-fast parts and replacement parts. There will always be replacement parts and things go wrong quickly going fast! especially when immoveable objects come into play! The TT02s are fun to try try and go fast. mostly it is is over gearing them a lot more than factory and parts are easy to get and cheap!

      @@AddamsPlayground actually, a TT02 is exactly what I had in mind since upgrades and spare parts are so plentiful. I also don’t really have to worry about pushing it to its limits since I am not competing in anything. I will probably go back over yours and others videos on TT02s.

      I was very happy to see that 74 pop up on the screen and it was a huge relief. 74 is a respectable speed fro a brushed set up congrats on that. I think you should try the Radiomaster MT12 with a 4 in 1 and a ELRS module so you can use your old recivers and the ELRS recivers flr suoer long range. I like flying drones and these are super long range and cheap and proven radio system for ground and air.

      It is actually brushless but still a crazy fast speed considering stock it goes about 15mph! I do have a new radio here that will give me much longer runs but I just got it in so there was no time to get it all set up! This is the first time I had range issues really. It was a fun and trying speed run challenge but I beat my goal and I am relieved I don't have to rebuild it. Now the wrecked one I still have to piece back together and retire that with the Beetle body on it.
