It's pretty obvious she was jealous and Einstein made the fatal relationship mistake that many men make with women.... expecting a woman's patience and focus to endure, like a man's. Big mistake, never put a woman in that situation when something vital depends on it.
Many fools are writing that Einstein stole Mileva's work but trust me that is not the truth. After doing some research I came to conclusion that Einstein was a very great thinker and he Knew maths but he took help from Mileva Maric his ex wife. But the question is what kind of help and how much help ? that is not we are sure of something. But still Albert used terms such as "we" and "our" in his published papers, that means he was willing to give the credit to his Wife whom he loved. I think It was that fucking time where Women was not respected and the thinking of that society was so backward. I think it is simple, we should give her credit and include her name in Einstein's achievements which Einstein himself wanted. Thank You.
yes its like now days women that have broken through that glass roof, still cant get things done, unless they do it themselves and spend more money than a man would ? Also Einstein gave the funds he got for the nobel price to her which back then i think was 20,000 dollars, which is a lot of money back then ? So basically that was to keep her shut and i bet he had a contract done so that she would never release the work she did or what she helped him with?
Beyond reasonable doubt, Albert Einstein was very very good at Maths. ' Tis unbelievable that he didn't give the credit that Mileva really deserved. It makes me sad to think how terribly she might have suffered despite her perseverance and immense role in his grand success. It might be very painful experience for her to take care of the sons.
3:50 She was the only female in the class, in a male-dominated field at a time where men wanted to keep these field stricly masculine. The teacher might have just wanted to make her fail the exam
Yeah it was male dominated. But what you said wasn't true. If that were true marie curie never would have acknowledged, she is more famous than his husband. Enstine's wife did all the math for him. He always had someone to do math for him, she helped him, but he never took credit from his wife. But i do think her life would have been better she didnt marry enstine
I’m so happy you did this video! I did my high school thesis on Mileva and on many other female scientists that were overshadowed by men during their time. Thanks for this video!!!
I heard many times about women being stupid, but now I am sure. First, this story has been completely rejected and is no longer valid. Second, even if it was true, you are saying that it was a collaboration, so it still did not have an effective role in Einstein's work
I just finished reading The other Einstein by Marie Benedict so well described all of the experiences that Mileva went through as a gifted woman, the misogynist society at the time, being un supported by Albert once she got pregnant with her first child and so on. I feel sorry for Mileva she was born in the wrong period of time.
I just finished the book today. My compassion goes out to Marie. The author’s writing is captivating. I feel disappointed in Albert, but now more respect for Maria. Considering the time in history it’s understandable why she kept quiet. Maria was a strong woman.
unlike the honest Pierre Curie, einstein is petty and with creepy self centered personality, he made sure everything is about him and his name from the start. He is the example showing that Science without conscience is the ruin of the soul.

Maybe Einstein claimed his wife's theories for himself. It wouldn't be a first, for example the movie Big eye. Considering that at the time men had a lot of power over their wives I think it is possible. The only evidence against it is the letter she wrote saying he fully deserves the credit, but was it done under threat? Also the only class she flunked was oral presentation, but considering the status of women's right at the time maybe the teacher was simply sexist . Finally, maybe giving her the Nobel money was a way to calm her anger down a bit.

Name any woman who was respected and given credit for their work, their genius, and their contributions to science, the arts, or any other academic endeavor, especially during that time. Clearly this is simply a case of a man having a place in the science community and a woman having a place at home by socially imposed expectations and allowances. Also, no mention of the suspicious fact that all "his" great "thought" came to him while being privy to patents submitted by other great thinkers. He graduated bottom of his class, used his wife for her mathematical abilities, and stole ideas from others. He's a legendary fraud.

"Yes. He was brilliant as a child and several grade levels ahead in math. He taught himself algebra and geometry at age 12. He was already imagining what a light wave would look like if he could travel at light speed at age 16. He did fail an entrance to exam, only because he had ignored other subjects besides math and physics. He studied biology amongst other things and passed the next time." i think a lot of what youre saying is a massive stretch trying to paint him as if he wasn't a genius.

Mileva didn't fail university, she wasn't alowed as a woman to get a diploma. Albert was succesful while maried to her; not before and not after. Mileva's brother was also scientist.

At their time, women were not even allowed into most universities. When they got special permission to enroll, as in Mileva's case, the world, including their professors, expected them to subsequently devote themselves to their husband's career. Mileva shared in this belief herself to a great extent and devoted herself to children, home, and her husband, as he had much better chances of getting a proper position that would provide for the family. Their first paper on 'relative motion,' however, was submitted for publication in both their names but then her name was mysteriously omitted in print. Mileva should be credited for the work on the relativity theory as well.
Can u imagine : even in today's society, when you are the only woman in a male-dominated field, you are constantly bombarded with sexist "jokes" by men. I can only imagine how hard it was 100 years ago. The "jokes" were probably a lot harsher and the harassing was even more stronger and more serious I bet.

@@hooman5969i heard many times that men were stupid, but now i'm sure. the op DID NOT claim that mileva was the true genius or einstein deserve no credit. they just said mileva should be credited as a collaborator if it's true. collaboration doesn not mean "having no impact" on someone's work. it means contributing. are you illeterate?
I first came into contact with this story through the first season of NatGeo's "Genius", and this was a great summary. I tend to believe (without any proof) that she likely abstained from credit at first because she knew that having a woman's name on the paper would make it lose traction on the scientific community, especially since she had never got her degree. Besides, by probably being denied a degree exactly for being a woman, she had experienced first-hand how other scientists would review their papers given that her name was on it as well. Believing they would spend their whole lives together, giving up credit to have at least Albert's recognition to the point of feeding the family was the priority. It's a shame Albert failed at giving her due credit. If the popularity he got of being a "genius" had been rightfully shared with Mileva, we could have had by now a higher representation of women in STEM fields, overcoming the old stigma of women in 'Hard Sciences' at least half a century earlier. How many 'geniuses' have we lost ever since due to dated prejudice?

I think you summed it up well there. Mileva was ordered which one needs to be to be a good mathematician while he was a dreamer with great knowledge but he probably lacked the out and out mathematics required to make these ideas a reality. Look at Edison, Steve Jobs both were great thinkers but relied on others like Tesla and Wozniak to make their ideas possible.

This is not a story of Mileva alone. This is the story of each woman on earth. Every woman is exploited- at home front. Mileva sacrificed her life for her lover- who made her pregnancy before marriage- Did not own his children and left two sons at the fate of a woman. I think Albert was a very selfish man. If he were devoted - still he could have achieved success as he did - but he was not faithful husband. Albert should not be given credit for his work alone - since the contribution from Mileva was cheated. The character of Albert was same as his sister Elsa who both prov that,

After his breakthrough with the theory of relativity and its application in science, he didn’t make any significant breakthrough. He instead, ridiculed himself becoming a caricature of the modern science. I think he just published what him and Mileva worked on and it’s variations throughout his whole life. Nothing like Tesla who was always after a new breakthrough, and even now, after death he still is. Facts talk for themselves

I have known about this for over 20 years. But also Mozart's sister may have been the one that wrote most of his greatest compositions. While young they both played for royalty and everyone said that his sister was the greater performer and composer. At 14 her father made her stop performing and writing and she was to be married and have a family. She continued writing to her brother throughout their lifetimes and always included new compositions in her letters and he was only glad to perform them

I think the reason why mileva never spoke up was because she was scared that no one would believe her and Albert Einstein might have threatened her regarding their children or something OR mileva wanted to live a peaceful life and she loved Albert

His wife lived in a world that was chauvinist. Math and physics are areas dominated by men, Einstein knew that he could treat her with contempt, and at best she would be regarded as a "sounding board." To continue with him, and receive financial support she had to go along with all those rules described in that letter. What a contemptible person he was. I learned from someone who saw that later he had her name removed from his papers, and as you yourself have revealed, his letters to her were not easily found. Being good at physics doesn't make you a good person. He buried his wife a long time before she was dead.
He took the ideas of two other scientists and coind the terms of General Relativity and Special Relativity, refusing to give credit to the scientists that reached the conclusions prior to him. That he was able to deny his own wife her merits for contributions to the work is a statement of the kind of person he was.
Well its Fitzgerald /Lorents, Lorents put the mathematics profile to Fitzgeralds work. Poincaire did much mathematics which Einstein required following the departure of Mileva. Johann Georg von Soldner predicted how gravitational forces acted on light. Aletto De Pretto predicted the relationship between energy and mass E =Mc2 which published twice a few years before Einstein's papers. What prevented these people from moving forward was that light was considered to have a variable speed and following Michaelson/ moorely experimental results which proved it was a fixed speed then everything changed. These scientists such as Fitzgerald and Johann Georg von Soldner were either deceased or about to be but their work was published and available.
And that is in full Mileva's work as she worked on that even before she dated him. But even there he was a total bastard. He gave her money from Nobels prize but said it is all his kids allowens in front, so never again gave anything to his children. When you take a good look at him and all that is known now he was never a good person, he was not a good father, he was not a good husband, nor a good human...and he was not a great physicist. He was just a good manipulator and he used a very good and smart woman, and when he could not use her anymore he left her and his children to die. Mileva was from good and rich family, not some girl he found on the street. She just loved the selfish bastard.
@@hasepsut011 No mileva just checked the math Einstein did. She was just a librarian and clerk to help with research Einstein is and always will be the genius.
@@michaelhow8403 Do more research about Mileva and you will discover how brilliant she was. Time she lived in was not open to a woman in a science thou. She was a genious while he was hardly finishing school. She was a great mathematician and she did all of his calculations as he was hardly ever good at that. Check school records if you don't belive me, there are documents with profesors remarks. He was hardly average. She burned all her works on the end, sadly, but after that he had no other ideas interestingly enough. So, explore the world of possibilities and you might discover all the things Serbian scientist's like Nikola Tesla, Mihailo Pupin, Milutin Milankovic, Mileva Maric and many others have given to the world...not counting what other so called geniuses have stolen from them and signed as their work.
@@hasepsut011 wring. When Einstein created general relativity mileva and Einstein’s marriage has already fallen apart and the loved in completely different cities. She only helped with SR. General relativity is far far more complex mathematically than SR and Einstein developed that on his own. SR is so simple that it could be taught to a middle schooler. Mileva was smart but nothing compared to Einstein.
@@michaelhow8403 that is exzactly what I just told you. He left her, took the works and published them...she burned the books after that (also documents about incident exzist) and that was the end. You said nothing new, but still did not do more research about subject.
There are absurd mistakes in this feminist movement #NobelForMileva : I agree sharply that Mileva would deserve even receive the Nobel of Physics for relativity, among other studies that helped her husband Einstein, for she was excellente mathematical. But mistakes: 1-She never gratuated and unfairly for pursuing a teacher. 2-She studied mathematics and not physical. 3-The nobel earned by Einstein could never have gone to her because the academy knews very well that she was responsible for relativity and not the matter that gave an Nobel: Photoelectric effect, today the Solar panels, nothing to do with relativity and that she no participated. A pity that the Nobel never came out of relativity because at least he would have led together and Einstein has never been unfair, so much that he gave all the fortune wins it (today almost US 2 million and left her millionaire). Did she compensated for ever-awarded relativity? Yes and very and deservedly, that is, only she won with the thesis, no one else, nor Einstein (there was no time to test it to win).
A lot of things are exaggerated about Einstein. He did not master calculus at 14. He was familiar with it. When he worked on relativity a lot of ideas were applied at the patent office from other people where Einstein worked and had to review the applications. He plagarized a lot of them. He was actually bad at mathematics and his friend Marcel Grossman was deriving equations of relativity for Einstein. Einstein did not know how the combustible engine worked and he never could do mathematics with his income tax returns for the IRS in the US. Someone else was doing his caculations for his tax of his income. He was a notorious womanizer. So, he does not deserve the half of reverence people give him.
Everyone know how great Hertz was but even though he was a genius he couldn't see a use for radio waves in communication and it too a man called Marconi who while not having Hertz's mathematics he made it possible to use radio waves to communicate around the world. So having all the mathematics ability can sometimes blindside people and someone like Marconi who had great understanding and Drive but not as much mathematics ability stale the day. To me a person like Einstein or Marconi who don't posess the mathematics ability of Hertz or Maxwell or Poincare but instead posess great knowledge and are not afraid to experiment and try new things, I think these people can lead to great breakthroughs. I would fear someone with 90% knowledge on a subject than someone with 100% knowledge because they are constantly asking questions to learn more.
She took the money as she earned it. It was all her work. She worked on that before she knew him. And she never said anything as he had already fame and money, and made clear he will destroy her. As a woman, you know, there is nothing more to say. And she is Serbian, that means she belived in Gods justice that is slow but always comes. She caried her cross with dignity. He was thought great but will be remembered as great lier and very bad human. She will get, as she is getting, the place she deserves as a great woman. What was she to do? She had no other choice. If she knew who he really was she would have never been with him. But he knew he can't make anything without her. And after her he did just that....nothing. He lived of her brain all his life. And problem was she was not a jew. So he and his family never cared of his children, as they were not considered jewish cose their mother Mileva was not. There are many fake scientists in the world but, for me, he is by far the worst person of them all. No soul, no heart, no nothing. Man who left his kids like dirt.

The only Nobel prize he was awarded was for the Photoelectric effect, which he mostly got the info from Lenard. His theory of relativity stems greatly from Lorentz. He also was adamant about the fact that a nuclear bomb was impossible until Leo Szilard convinced him and got him to write a letter to FDR.
Agreed. For a "genius" who claimed the virtues of "Imagination" and "Curiosity", he was quite adamant against anything APPLIED physics or the practical implications of his Theory of relativity. I don't remember exactly, nor do I completely understand what he did, but his first paper, the special theory of relativity (1905) was different than the old newtonian physics that people used. In a way he expanded it by showing a different side to it, but it can also be considered different.

This video is made from a feminist perspective that tries to create the idea that Einstein's success is due to a woman ... There is no evidence whatsoever in the video to support that claim. I only see and hear rumors and innuendo. The truth is, Einstein realized afterwards that his happiness is not in a life with a woman who is busy with her studies or work. Einstein is old school and wanted a woman who is more of a housewife which is why he married his childhood sweetheart. A housewife who cooks for him and offers him comfort in the house. The first wife did not and that is why he divorced her. Don't listen to this nonsensical feminist video that goes all out to taunt Albert Einstein.

A lot of contradictions in this: Narrator "Einstein would never have succeeded without Mileva" but then prior to this the narrator justifies, Mileva's refusal to give Einstein a divorce, because as the narrator say she would not be recognised without Einstein. Either way, if any partner refuses a divorce when the other partner wishes this, this is unfair and disrespectful. It does seem however, there was wrong on each side unfortunately.
Vlogs Of Knowledge You showed us that they worked together on the relativity theory. The letter says it all. But how do we now she supported him after that? Like you showed they had a pretty huge fight, showing how much of a dick Einstein can be. I doubt she would help him during such times.
Ok, so Einstein published his paper "The Special Theory of Relativity" in 1905, and "The General Theory of Relativity" in 1915. By 1914, he was already in Berlin and Mileva in Zurich. Their marriage had already gone downhill, at that point, she wasn't helping him. However, she did a lot of the work for his first paper in 1905, when their relationship was still somewhat going strong. That's what I was referring to in the video. Sorry if that didn't seem clear enough. My argument was that she helped him achieve his first success (1905 special relativity paper) and helps him some after that, until their marriage went to shit a couple of years later. But by then, Einstein had already reached international success and his name was known throughout the physics world.
Vlogs Of Knowledge Ahh my mistake then. After their marriage went downhill and Einstein was living in america being famous, did he do anything new? Did he publish anything else? What scientific work did he do? Or did he do nothing?
After his 1915 paper the General Theory of Relativity, he was convinced he could find what he called "the Unified Theory of Relativity". Which was essentially, from what I understand, trying to condense the entire universe into one equation. He spent the rest of his life trying to find that, he never did. It's interesting to note that as a young physicist, Einstein was against the conventional thinking and actively fought against the classical views of physics. The classical view physics had at the time was that if you can see it, then it must be there. If you can't, then it's not. And Einstein debunked that by proving mathematically his theory of relativity, which is something you can't see. Yet when quantum physics came into the equation, Einstein resisted it. Quantum physics was all about things you couldn't see and it goes way deeper than that. He started out his life as a young "rebel" physicist defying the modern views of the time and criticizing everybody who believed that, and ended up becoming the very physicist he critiqued as a young guy. Ironic. And of course, he also helped start the Manhattan Project, the project to create the atomic bomb before the Germans. He wasn't involved with it, but he wrote a letter signing his name to the President, because they believed his fame would get the attention of the President. They were right.
Many say that Mileva was the brains and all Einstein did was take credit for all of Mileva's work hence the reason Mileva was paid off... Einstein just wanted to keep her quiet and not expose him for the fraud that he was. One thing's for sure, that Mileva character (the "wife") was NO woman lol, that's obviously just another dude (a mtf) posing as a woman. All those who aquire any kind of fame are reversed genders. If they claim to be a woman then it's really just a dude and vice versa 🤷 Don't hate on my post, but rather open your mind, question everything and see the truth that's right in your face 👍 It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled. ~Mark Twain~

Also Einstein gave the funds he got for the nobel price to her which back then i think was 20,000 dollars, which is a lot of money back then ? So basically that was to keep her shut and i bet he had a contract done so that she would never release the work she did or what she helped him with?

I just finished reading The other Einstein by Marie Benedict so well described all of the experiences that Mileva went through as a gifted woman, the misogynist society at the time, being un supported by Albert once she got pregnant with her first child and so on. I feel sorry for Mileva she was born in the wrong period of time.
I just finished the book today. My compassion goes out to Marie. The author’s writing is captivating. I feel disappointed in Albert, but now more respect for Maria. Considering the time in history it’s understandable why she kept quiet. Maria was a strong woman.

I remember the movie Big Eyes another injustice.

This is not a story of Mileva alone. This is the story of each woman on earth. Every woman is exploited- at home front. If he were devoted - still he could have achieved success as he did - but he was not faithful husband. Albert should not be given credit for his work alone - since the contribution from Mileva was cheated. The character of Albert was same as his sister Elsa who both prov that,

Dark Phoenix what two other scientist?
Lorentz and Poincare.
Proofs?

I don't remember exactly, nor do I completely understand what he did, but his first paper, the special theory of relativity (1905) was different than the old newtonian physics that people used. In a way he expanded it by showing a different side to it, but it can also be considered different.

I'm not sure if this applies, but i can say, in regards to the "our work"bit.. I've often been corrected by the woman i loved, when referring to my own creations as ours.. my business, my work, I'd always say ours with the women i loved. Not saying this is the case here, but it's a possibility.. it's hilarious btw, to hear someone say "Einstein wasn't good at math" because he may not have been excelling in computation in his head.
You should be careful before making video on Sir Albert Einstein, he don't everything on his own even after divorce he done marvelous work

Yes you're right
Einstein was unaware of Soldner's work?? Seriously?? Who believes that.
Einstein was unaware of Olinto De Pretto work?? Seriously?? Even though a family friend of the Pretto family was working at the same patent office as Einstein and Einstein thanked him on his publications, what help did this guy contribute for Einstein to Thank him?? If I was to take a guess it would be translating Pretto's paper from Italian to German for Einstein.
This was helpfull

Avery Abbott hmm, never heard of him, who is he?
Vlogs Of Knowledge He was a German statesman and chancellor. He was, in a really basic explanation, a really clever German politician who built a unified German Empire and, though he didn't mean to, set up the stage for World War One. I find him pretty interesting especially because of how cunning he was. Plus he had a kinda crazy mustache.
Avery Abbott I'll write it down and take a look! Thanks for the suggestion 😊😊
i'm pretty sure she had everything to do with his work, the 16 years they were married. he was selfish and that should not have happened, but of course i cannot do anything to change this and it is just one persons opinion.
i have always said that his wife was the main person who did the hard yards in physics and it was she who came up with E=MC sq and not einstein at all. :) Also think about it, he worked in a patent office, when Nikola Tesla the croatian real genius was making sure his parents were going through, but at the same time einstein was looking over them, thus leaking patents and modifications to those inventions to others like Thomas Edison and other Inventors at the time, who has the first OIL Pipe value patents, none other than a croatian who went to the USA and thus the Big Gusher was named in Texas oil for everyone and also guess who stole a modification to that oil valve patent, none other than american howard hughes. lol :) Also the oldest jewish transcript was found in Croatia as well, dating back over 500 BC ? cheers and please you have to look between the lines and read between them. :) 👌✌👍
Just like Mileva, Nikola Tesla was a Serb. Serb born in Austro-Hungarian empire, today's Croatia.
Yeap....Tesla 100% Serbian. That part where he was born was 100 % serbian. His last name is old serbian. His father was a Serbian orthodox priest. He him self said I am a Serbian. Like Mileva Marić and Mihailo Pupin. So, please, don't try to make him what he never was. That man gave too much to the world as we know it for people to tell lies about him as he was very proud for being Serbian. Like Pupin and Mileva Marić.

the power of hypocrisy is always over the truth. In reality you can all claim whatever you want or just accept the fact that the man was indeed a genius who got perfected by his wife. both were very smart people and us minors can't judge nor ever decide whom of them was the smartest
Mileva isn’t and never was the reason for Einstein’s success. She would just check the math Einstein did and help out. Einstein was and always will be the genius
It does a disservice to scientists who came before Einstein and leads people erroringly to believe that Einstein cannot be followed. There is a good reasoning as to why Einstein did not receive to Nobel prize for Relativity.
yes, the nobel committe was concerned for years of einstein plagiarism and subsequent scandal in front of other scientists had they awarded it for him :) "The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." -- Albert Einstein

Who was half black?
She did not respond because the loser made him pregnant due to which she failed the exams
really ? or maybe she was dumb like other women

You showed us that they worked together on the relativity theory.
Vlogs Of Knowledge
Ahh my mistake then.
If they claim to be a woman then it's really just a dude and vice versa 🤷
Don't hate on my post, but rather open your mind, question everything and see the truth that's right in your face 👍
It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled.
