Took till 2020 to put them into the Hall Of Fame….absolutely ridiculous. What a legendary band. Every album worth owning even Step By Step.

I was a beginner at playing guitar 🎸 in 1986. I only knew about 4 chords. My parents took me to buy a used guitar that was advertised in the local paper. The owner begins to play the intro to "long train running" to demonstrate for us how the guitar sounded. Without even picking it up myself, I said "ill take it!" Nearly 40 years later the Gibson flying V is still hanging on my living room wall and I'm still playing it almost daily! Love me some Doobies!!❤😂

Oh, wow. I live in Downtown San Jose - didn't know the Dobbie Brother's house was in the Naglee area next to San Jose State University. Cool

Living in Campbell during the 70'-80's, I was a frequent "guest" at the old Bodega club in downtown Campbell. The Doobies would play there quite a bit in the early days, and also other Bay Area bands like "Cold Blood" w/ Lydia Pence, and Mike Bloomfield. There's just not many clubs like the Bodega anymore unfortunately, although The Catalyst in Santa Cruz is still a great venue to see bands, both old & new.

Their best years were with Tom Johnston; after that, I could take them or leave them.

Same...as much as I love Michael McDonald, he changed the whole vibe of the group when Tom left for a while.

If they formed in the 90's, they would have been the Blunt Brothers.

I'm curious about this location. I live near Cherry and Meridian Ave, but the two streets do not intersect. Also, is "Cherry Park" what is currently called Paul Moore Park at Cherry and Hillsdale Ave?

They were rock and roll with Tom and turned into yacht rock with Michael . Even though McDonald was the ' voice's.

The Doobie Brothers palyed Good Time Rock and Roll. I have everything Doobie Brothers on CDs. Everything but the McDonald era. The McDonald era was not the Doobie Brothers. Too much Soul.

But didn't some DB members grow up in the mountains, as in Loma Prieta? Neal's Fandango lyrics talk about Loma Prieta.

Got one minor correction that you may not care about but the word Rhythm is spelled the way I just wrote it, not Rythm as you show 50 seconds in. Other than that, fun to see the house where the band started, one of my favorite groups.
