That was some really great guitar work. This video is almost four years old, I imagine that you have progressed quite a bit since then. 10 thumbs up dude. I love Ovation guitars, I have three of them at this time. An Anniversary (1978), a Model 1763 Classic (1986) and a UKII solid body (1981). I purchased the two acoustics new and the UKII from our preacher.
Beautiful playing my friend. Reminds me of my dad playing back in the 60`s but ahead of his time. Used to bring crowds to stand up and shout when he played.
I just found out this model, the Elite is available here, and I ordered it in Koa Burst. Now I can hear it here for the first time. Too bad the guitar is not too visible.
Correct me if I'm wrong,...but it looks and sound like you were able to put nylon strings on this guitar,......sounds great,....and the great frets is a plus.
Christopher, they're actually steel, I think that's just an artifact of the amplified sound. I've used silk and steels on this guitar though, but they just feel too "loose" in the end.
Beautiful sound and great playing. Very inspiring. Are these guitars easy to play, or do they have the awkward action of most acoustic steel string instruments?
Very easy to play, but I've found any good acoustic can be made easy to play. I really liked this guitar, but I cannot recommend it. It took one fall, off a stand onto a carpeted floor, and the neck detached. Ovation's customer service regarding getting it fixed was useless. Bummer. I've moved on to a Martin 000-15m that sounds better and is just as easy to play.
Danex the tune is Blue in Green. I've become very fond of this guitar. Works great for my needs, easy to play, decent acoustic tone for practice, very use able tones plugged in with no feedback.
Awesome playing! I'm thinking about getting the elite in spalted maple. How was was the action when you got it? I've heard from multiple people that it is tremendously high.
Pretty good. It shipped with .012's, but they were not tuned to pitch (not a bad thing, for travel, but the neck had "settled.")when I tuned it up, the neck did bow slightly. now generally, I wouldn't do a truss rod adjustment to correct action, but it was high in the 7th-10th fret zone, so a small truss rod tweak worked. truss rod adjustment is a bitch on these though, especially if you have big hands. anyway, that tweak put the 12th fret measurement at about 2.5mm on the bass side, a little less on the treble. it played a little stiff, so for kicks I went down a gauge in strings. this caused the neck to move a tiny bit, and by perhaps luck, the action is just perfect for me now--a shade over 2mm on the bass side, a shade under on the trebles. the guitar plays really easy with .011's.
Just wondering, does anyone have issues with standing up playing ovations I feel they tend to turn upward maybe because of my belly that's not really to big?
Came for the guitar and stayed for the beautiful playing.
Beautiful playing and a critic voiced their pleasure at the end.
I’ve been looking at this Guitar for a while on Sweetwater. This video pushes me even closer.

I've listened to this many times. Very tasty guitar playing.

When someone knows how to play, they can make even a bad guitar sound good - not saying this is one. top class, thanks for the upload!
Even the dog wants to hear more!! Would be nice to know what rig you were playing through. Would be nice if I could play like, too.

Wow…………..fabulous playing, more, more, more,………….🙌🏾👋🏾👍🏾
I have a Celebrity Elite CE44-RR. It's the best acoustic guitar I have.
Your last name should have a Jaz in place of the Mat. Awesome.
Nice work!
Very nice! Sounds beautiful. I noticed a little feedback. Is this a problem you've faced when performing? Thank you for sharing.
Sound test, ok but we don't don't anything the test itself. We don't know what amp was used (seems likely a jazz amp), reverb pedal, etc.
Well done!
Cool sound.....
Holy shit Man---That's great!

@@jeffreymatz Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work.
made in ?
what should i know to play like this gentleman?
Sounds awesome Jeff! Could you please tell if this is model CE48P-KOAB
Gerrit Nagel , yes, that's the model--super shallow body.
Thanks for listening!
It is a pleasure to listen to this combo of guitar and you Jeff.
Very very Nice groove in the sound.
I would've liked to hear more low tones, you hit the low E string one time xD
Nice work. Can you pour concrete?
Nope, completely useless in any areas that would actually benefit people.
@@jeffreymatz LOL!
What’s the settings for the sounds
Is there an effect?
What's the name of that song? Also, how do you like this guitar? I'm thinking about buying it.
Danex the tune is Blue in Green.

Thanks for the quick reply. That doesn't sound too bad. Great info I appreciate it!
jeffreymatz what make strings do you use on this guitar
John Pearse 80/20 bronze. Probably gonna go with Elixir next string change, I've always liked them, a little less finger squeak/longer life.
Zmay I ask what gauge strings you are using?
.012s, John Pearse 80/20's right here.
Thanks for listening!
Just wondering, does anyone have issues with standing up playing ovations I feel they tend to turn upward maybe because of my belly that's not really to big?
Go with a mid-depth bowl 1778 or super shallow 1868 that should fix it.
Jeff, bro what was the amp? Please tellus all! Russell
russell, here the amp is a zt lunchbox jr. I'm plugged into a TC electronics "Hall of fame" for reverb.
Jeff could you help me out what cable ends do i need (male/female) beween the tc pedal and the tz junior to get power direct from the tz
🎼🎸🎶👍🎵
ja, wenn man auch noch spielen kann....toll
I regret why i sold my acoustic guitar to my ex gf Ovation made in korea tsk tsk!!
Bravo!
