my wiring OCD is always satisfied when i see dean doing a wiring setup on an amp rack like that! So much detail and perfection in how he plans and runs and secures the wiring SHEEEEEEEESH! love it guys!
I love watching you guys do installs they always look so professional and clean, I wish there were installers like you near where I live to do an install for me. once again love the channel and you guys are very talented on installs.
6:41 "to troubleshoot any error lights, unscrew amp, flip it over and refer to chart on backside." Just take a photo of backside before securing amp down. You're welcome. :-) Would love to see you guys do a Big Three wiring upgrade video.
I have the same T2 components in my fronts. I know it’s a tad more work than most would like to do, but I found a spot under the center console that those two crossovers will fit perfectly in.
I really wish you guys had one of these videos showing how to do the under seat wire harness for a tundra with a jbl system. I've replaced my factory radio with a nice Kenwood but the install of my replacement amps has been delayed because I can't find the correct information on making the harness... it seems everyone with the jbl system likes to keep the crap radio and use a in-line dsp.
Hi hwmboy925, I did the same thing... replaced the JBL headunit with a Kenwood DDX9905s and Maestro RR. Now I can't figure out how to bypass/replace the JBL amp to send more power to the rear. Any chance you found the answer? Thanks in advance.
@@TommyD37 - Sort of, I ordered a maestro AR harness since its supposed to be plug and play with the jbl amp replacement. It's designed for use with the factory replacement 6 channel kenwood dsp amp, but that amp is designed for keeping the crap factory head unit and its way overpriced. I bought regular excelon amps and quality rca's. So I only plan on using the maestro AR harness for plugging into the factory speaker wires. The problem is I still have yet to find a trustworthy wiring diagram.
@@hwnboy925 Thanks very much for the quick reply! That sounds promising. I'm starting to wonder if the easiest solution is to just run new RCA's off the Kenwood deck into an aftermarket amplifier, but leave the JBL amplifier in place for door chimes/ blind spot audio warnings etc. Funny, even the techs at Crutchfield.com did not have an answer for this situation. Lol. Good luck!
@@TommyD37 lol, that was my experience with crutchfield too! They said my only option was the kenwood 6 channel with a maestro ar module. This stereo system trouble has me kinda wishing I would have bought a base model tundra and just upgraded parts along the way since that's what I seem to be doing anyway. Jbl really made a crap system for such an expensive "upgrade". Hopefully the wonderful installers that posted this video can point us in the right direction.
Dean what were the part numbers for the wiring harnesses used to go from the factory harness to the amp under the passenger seat? I show the BHA 7992 harness is for Suzuki.
Would it be to hard during editing to add a stop watch or timer while you timelapse the amp wiring process? Im very curious to know how long it takes for you to do some of this stuff. Thank you for your time
With those component speakers being bi-ampable, and the amp getting most of its power at 2 ohm, could you simply bi-amp the cross over and run both sets of wires, in parallel, to a single channel to drop the impedance in half? Not sure what the impedance on each the midrange and tweeter are, when bi-amped, but it seems like it's going to be 4 ohm and would work to get down to 2 ohm.
The comment about the center channel sharing signals from the dash corner speakers, is that on non-jbl models? I think I saw a wiring diagram where the JBL versions do have wires running to the center. Is this correct? Looking to do something similar but I have a JBL model but would like to keep centers. Thanks!
If it’s the first time working on a certain type of vehicle, do you tell the customer that it will take extra time to make notes and figure out everything?
I put the punch grills on my p3 12s I don't know why you wouldn't put grills on them after you paid 200$ a piece for your subs the grills actually look good.😎

Best content on UA-cam, Installer Diaries are my favorite
Dean, you guys should put those notes into publication! It would be like a haynes manual for installers.

Watching Fernando applying sound damping material brought a calming affect over me for some reason.
absolutely enjoy watching you do your magic. I wish there was someone in my area that did this type of work.
This work is TOO clean!
Need to bring my car down to Florida haha!

Cool install video. Is there meant to be video 3
This is so beautiful! I hope more Toyota's come in!

Wish he was closer to socal
Great work keep it up. Great awesome videos.
Love this channel and how you guys share info
Oooooohhhhh yeaaaaaahhhhhhhhh part 2 best way to start my day thanks you guys
Excellent work as always. Would love to bring in my vehicle for an install.
Wish there was as good of an installer in Houston
8:03 that's a dime bag 😉
Lol. I think all that green material was from concealing stuff in the dashboard.
Bringing out the bolt cutters you know shits going down

Any upgrades to the electrical system of the truck?

Great job as usual I would hate to sit in the back of that vehicle as the subs would kick my back lol
Lmao the dislikes are from people who left the center channel in
Dislikes are haters wish that they have dean and fernando's talents
@@bobbybyrkett7751 Haha most definitely, have you seen Jat4011? His work is next level

Do you have the factory speaker wire colors handy? I am about to do a similar install in my Tundra. Appreciate it!
Im looking to have this done on my tundra. Roughly how much would it cost to have this done by a shop?
Thanks for confirming actual size 😂 hate false advertising on boxes.
I didn't put the metal panel back on. ... it just disappeared 😂

Did he find out what it actually was that was on his finger?
Does anyone know if your supposed to put fuses next to these amps as it does not have any built in? I am looking to do a similar setup.
Sound deadener is expensive as hell. It literally cost the same as the speakers themselves. Bet it is worth every penny though.
Can we just do a before and after on the sound deadening material? I know it’s important, but well...a before and after might be less time consuming.
Five star car audio > Meade
What are you guys using to secure the amps and cross overs to the abs plastic?just a 1/4 inch screw?
yes and than he cuts and grinds them flush , the abs is thick enough to hold the 1/4 well
I'm going bonkers I've watched this video 100 times and I keep getting an error on my deck saying speaker wiring problem..
Woohoo 🙌
Hey Dean can the center channel be connected directly to the radio instead of the amp, and if so would it sound good.
I have a Kenwood KAC 5001ps pushing a Fosgate 12” P3D4 @ 2ohm, I’m wondering if a Fosgate r500X1D would be better? Thoughts?
