I was just a kid when I saw her in Funny Girl in 1968. How time flies. Watching her films and listening to her beautiful music was a real highlight in my life. She always made it so easy to be a fan.
Having thought I'd seen every interview of Barbra, occasionally I will come upon one I hadn't seen. This is one of those. Knowing he 80-year-old Barbra of today, September 15, 2022, it's fascinating to see and hear her girlhood voice here with everything we now know is ahead of her. It's rather sweet and endearing.
To get a glimpse of Babs before the Hollywood Carwash changed her and took away her innocence is just simply divine. Thank you for posting this precious clip.
I don't think at all her innocence was took away she just got more experience in life and get more mature.... And always had this special sense of humor
She’s shy, humble and almost tongue-tied here until she talks about her childhood, then the memories come flooding back. She so wanted those white skates yet she never got them, sad and sweet, clearly she grew up and got over it, unlike a lot of other people!
I agree with you, also I do have the vinyl version of Stoney End. Just subscribed to your channel 👍 do more Streisand I've loved her since I saw Hello Dolly back in 1970 I was 9 then now I'm 62.
Nice to see something new . . she's just so much fun. She should host an episode of a talk show, interviewing others.. I bet she'd be great. She also likes the interviewer. When she doesn't - watch out - she can be grouchy.
If you look closely at her hands in the roller skating scene, her famous fingernails are wrapped in splints and tape. God forbid she should break a nail 😅 That’s not a criticism, she is the greatest performer I’ve seen in my long life.
It seems like she did not know her hidden vocals & singing potential as of yet by the time this interview had happened. And she became more of a singer than actress afterwards.
Barbra is actually in a good headspace here, and appears to have bounced back from the initial shock (and disappointment) of becoming famous almost overnight. This is a far cry from her interview on "Let's Talk to Lucy" where Barbra has just exploded on the scene and is starring in the Broadway version of Funny Girl. I don't know if she was intimidated by Lucy or what, but was clearly very cautious and paranoid.
Innocence?.... She's Jewish, from a poor family in Brooklyn, with no father figure in her childhood, and no support from her mother..... She's a survivor and an absolute winner. If she may look Innocence earlier in her career, I'm pretty dure, it was just part of her strategy to get the attention of publica, critics and executives.
Barbra's very playful and alluring here. . . her story about roller skating is too funny. She never did get her own skates - and now she could buy the whole roller rink.
Simply ... 'The Greatest Star'. Period.
Can't believe she mentioned the Empire roller rink...it was the latest, hottest rink in Brooklyn back in the day...great memories there...

She's honest. ❤️ A great quality then & now.

I love when Barbra is more New York than California

"Hollywood Carwash" Brilliant, I haven't heard that term before. It's on point

Took away her innocence? I think she just got older.. like the rest of us. Hopefully wiser too
I wish there was a full video of this somewhere. Its so lovely.
Just another reason to love Barbra!!💗😇🎶
I wanted this interview to be an hour long. 😊
Her accent was charming.
Never have seen this. Thank you! ❤️
I remember the old Empire roller skating rink. Wow😳...Can't believe she mentioned that!
Wonderful, Barbra! You are an example to many artists, for generations to come ✨

Dear Barbra, Even if you were never ever famous you would still Rock! It isn't the stardom it is the Barbra.
That's a really great way of describing Barbra! Totally true!
Anyone who says this woman isn’t beautiful is crazy. She’s gorgeous and sensational!
Interviews like this are a gem -- before the big stars become cynical of the press and say nothing original or charming in an interview.
Just realized that she turns 80 in 5 days. Yep! makes me feel old.
U R fine as long as you can remember how to spell your name Tom.
Thank you John! I was finally able to watch it. :)

Dang! Even then....Amazing! ❤ Mrs. Streisand🙂
Thank you for this!!!!
this is a very good interview , I would love to see the whole thing !
Utterly charming
Barbra is gorgeous and I love her authentic Brooklyn accent.
She so beautiful lady ❤️I love miss Streisand ❤️
Beautiful
Fabulous treat. Wish we could see more of Barbra before she became Mizz Steissand. So natural and carefree.
She's gorgeous in this clip

Do you have an example? I’ve never seen her be “grouchy” at all.

Wow!
There's a look and manner about her here. It feels like this could have been a woman in 2018 talking about things. It's teetering on the surreal

She doesn't interview well.
