  • SUDANESE KABAB (GHEEMA)
    A Sudanese/South Sudanese dish made with meat, potatoes, carrots, and peas as the main ingredients. I use lamb, but you can use your preferred meat (beef or goat).
    I have known this dish as Kabab since I was young, however, a friend who lived in Egypt knows this as Gheema. Naming issues aside, we both agree that it’s delicious.
    Try this meal and you won’t be disappointed.
    INGREDIENTS LIST:
    1kg lamb (boneless and cut into tiny pieces)
    1 large onion
    2kg Potatoes
    1kg Carrots
    500grams peas
    2 tablespoons vegetable stock powder
    1 tablespoon cumin powder
    1 tablespoon coriander powder
    2 tablespoons tomato paste
    2 tablespoons garlic paste
    Black pepper
    Salt to taste
    HOW MY FAMILY & I EAT THIS: This could be eaten by itself as my kids sometimes do, however, it goes well with a bit of rice, bread rolls or chapati.

      You’re most welcome. It warms my heart knowing that some brothers have chosen to drop some of our pointless cultures and are willing to learning this much needed life skill. Thank you ❤️

    This is my favourite dish if not my favourite, but I love mine with mince meat instead the dice meats tends to be hard to chew 😊

      It’s one of my favourites too and I agree it’s easier to chew when cooked with minced beef.
      Have you tried it with chicken (with boneless thighs)? You might like it because the chicken is soft. Check this out 👉🏾 ua-cam.com/video/FoTXpDB53eo/v-deo.html

      Thanks, they’re so easy to use and clean. If you’re in Australia, this is the Stonedine cooking range. I bought mine three years ago from Harris Scarfe. I’m not sure if they still have them in stock but will check and attach the link here.

    I noticed you often add your cumin later on in the cooking process. Is there a reason for that?

    • @asedoskitchen
      @asedoskitchen  5 місяців тому

      I add cumin towards the end to retain its flavour & aroma which tends to be lost when added too early.

    Hi
    What is the vegetable power

    • @asedoskitchen
      @asedoskitchen  Рік тому

      Hello 👋🏾 apologies for the late response. This is the vegetable stock powder that I use but you can use any stock cube. I sometimes use beef or chicken stock cube: www.vegeta.com.au/au/products/stock-powder/vegeta-gourmet-stock-powder
