They made this album thinking "No one will be able to cover this shit!" So far, they are pretty much on point with that....
There are plenty of cats who could coer these songs, but you can be almost sure they all already have professional careers.
I can play Fragments and thats about it lol. That took about 2 months to learn this song the pedal work at least to my standards are just too insane for me.
@@albasainmusic i reckon the transition between 32nd notes to 16th notes on the bass drum is killing you. Its aight the fact that u can do even a small amount of that double kick shit is amazing... getting my double pedal soon wish me luck!
It's doable, over these years I've been learning some of the songs of the album like Mirriors, Retrograde, Fragments, Tendinitis, I've managed to get them and they really help me level up as a drummer, what's inhumane to me is composing them in the first place, I could never come up with the shit Luke comes up with in these songs, to me that's what's impressive about all of his work, it's not necessarily the hardest to play or the most technical, but it takes a prodigious one of a kind mind to build something like that, admirable.

If he practiced his footwork correctly which I think he did since he's so much better than he used to be. You must practice any figure and be able to play by starting with both feet. I restarted playing drums not so long ago and I personally try to practice more my left foot to make it as good as my right foot. But yeah, mustn't have taken him a lot of time!

Practice! A lot
Three years late, but here’s some tips!!!
•focus on activating more muscles than your under leg (or hip flexor). Try to have your calf and ankle muscles involved as well.
•Check out Marthyn and bass drum mastery on UA-cam, he is a truly amazing resource for double bass knowledge.
•And most importantly, watch amazing drummers and study their leg movements, then try replicating them on the kit, it really helps.
P.S. take breaks when your muscles are sore. Don’t over work, it’s the opposite of progress.

Okay, I'm not the greatest with how articulate I should be with my double pedal technique. This video makes me want to find a really useful practice routine to better enhance speed and cleanliness. Anyone have any recommendations?

Hey Jeremy Tremp, really like the videos, just one thing for me, the more technical Luke gets on the drums, would really appreciate it if you didnt go all technical with the camera movement as well. Its already hard for me to catch what Luke's doing, it further dizzies me when the camera just goes out of frame (bobbing up, down, left, right, in out). Maybe its just me but other than that great video from both of you as always!
