Trish in NZ! Wow, Paul, you get it! :) Totally agree...all the people I have the pleasure to meet would back you and your thinking up! How do we network the 2% so that they/we don't feel alone - and crazy! Then make 2% to 4%, 8%, 16 and beyond! THANKS! Trish
I feel that if American business leaders...and leaders in general....would adopt these mindsets...we've be unbelievable as a country. You've had an amazing impact Paul. Keep up the great work!
This is SO true. The greatest leaders are humble and they love people. They know it is the PROCESS that is broken, not the people (Edwards Deming). Study after study shows almost all workers WANT to do a great job. They struggle because the process is broken. Thanks Paul! - Bruce
Thanks Paul for provide us one more excellent video that includes almost everything related with LEAN Culture. Here at Controlar, in Portugal, we would like to tell you that, today, we include this excellent video in our 51th LEAN meeting.
Awesome video Paul. I have a question about the concept of urgency: If someone comes up with an improvement idea but it requires a simple part that you don't have on hand what do you do? Does your sense of urgency say to spend 40 minutes driving to Home Depot and back for the part, or should it be added to a wunderlist and put off for later?
I would add it to the Wunderlist App and do it in the most efficient way possible. The concept of urgency means that people don't see an improvement and say well I'll try that someday but they immediately try to run an experiment if they have the necessary things to do it. If it requires a trip to the store, then get those supplies when you go to the store to get other things to manage efficiency. However, if it means making a point or teaching a lesson to a certain team member about the importance of continuous improvement, it would not be beyond me to run to the store to get the parts.
