The problem I see is that people see lean as a method not a life style. Thanks to lean I’m twice as productive as other small contractors. It took a while for lean to click with my helper but once it clicked he has great ideas.
I agree on the 5% figure , it's unreal how ineffecient contractors are . I think the fact that the work is done remotely is part of it , and variation is part of it .
Lean in Mobile home services industry ? Lean is seen as a manufacturing specific discipline . But Waste can be eliminated everywhere even when you aren’t making something.
I know I have said this before. My husband calls him self the Bruce Lee of flooring. Looking for waste all the time. But constitution in general he said is full of waste. It drives him crazy.
I visit many construction sites and see the waste. It doesn't matter it's lean or leadership it starts at the top. Paul you are spot on.
