- Hey all thank you for the support and feedback to you all I greatly appreciate it. So we had an amazing vacation but all fun things end and it’s time to hit the road again. Have to make this money for bills,investing and future travels. I can’t believe we’re almost at 4k subscribers you all are epic. I want to apologize for the length of this video. I have a lot more footage to edit and post so it will be up and live here very soon. I hope you all enjoy, catch you all in the next one!

That's so helpful that your wife packed all that food for you. I can't imagine how difficult it is to back up in the dark! The additional camera is a nice addition to your videos. Deadheading 527 miles, ugh...hope that doesn't happen very often.
Yes she helps me often which I’m very grateful for. It does get tough to back in the dark when you can’t see anything for sure. I’m glad you like the extra turn cam I added for the footage. Thank you so much for the kind feedback and input. Deadheading isn’t that many miles usually 😅 If I have to deadhead that far every load I wouldn’t be too happy that for sure.

@@timtrowell1034 yes sir I don’t believe in flip flops I’m not on vacation even though I live in Florida I always wear flip flops on home time but out there we are professional drivers and I try to be one. The rest of these guys just wearing flip flops like they are going to the beach even the flat bed drivers while tarping and strapping 🤦🏼♂️ it’s really unsafe too
@@RunningOTR It’s nice to see PRIME doesn’t mind spending money on equipment. Where I’m at the rarely ever buy new equipment and it definitely doesn’t happen annually. The stuff we have on our yard is absolutely pathetic. 😕
@@timtrowell1034 yes sir prime rotates all their tractors every 2 years and trailers every 4 years so we always have nice new reliable trucks to drive. I saw the few US food I delivered too has old equipment
@@RunningOTR I understand why PRIME does that. PRIME turns a huge more amount of miles that we do, but the equipment we have is literally CRAP !!!! We haven’t always been that way, but over the past 10+ years it’s steadily went down hill. I keep hoping things will go back to the good old days, but I think it’s too far gone. The really sad part is nobody cares, at all .
You can have 40,000 on tandems in Florida, as long as you aren’t over 80,000. So you can even use the weight station as a free scale to get legal for other states.
Wyoming is that way and I use them when a certified scale isn’t near my pickup.
Yeah I do that at times especially after hours some places have scales closed and you can drive in it and tells you your weights on steers drivers and trailer

When my kids were small, I would have to sit on the step for a while before I could get in the truck . When ever a driver would ask me where I was going, I always said home, even if I was heading away. I would say that I’m just looking for a place to turn around.
My girls are in their 30s and I have grandchildren. But leaving the ones you love is always tough.
People also don’t think about the family left behind. They are sacrificing, just as you are to make a living.

Haha it takes some practice for sure but you will get better each time you do it. That’s the hardest part of trucking backing lol it’s not hard to drive the truck in a straight line it’s like a car but longer

Great video! How did you recalibrate the gauge weight inside the truck or outside on the trailer gauge?
Hey brother thanks for the comment and question and also thanks for always watching I appreciate you! You can recalibrate it by turning the screw on the gauge it self when you weight the load on the cat scale you can tune it according to the weights shown on the scale ticket. I will try and explain it in one of these videos. 🤝

I know this is an old video, and I apologize for responding on something 3 months later, but I'm new to your awesome channel and still making my way through the old videos. The sad goodbyes between your family and yourself is what prompted me to reply. Just wondering if you have checked into Landstar Trucking? One of my cousins works for them. He makes incredible money with them and, unless he chooses a load off the board for real long distance, he is usually within a couple 100 miles from home all the time so that he is near his wife and child. Maybe this isn't an option for you, but wanted to mention it.
Hello thank you so much for the tip about landstar I know landstar they are out of Jacksonville Florida unfortunately I can’t drive for them since I haven’t bought my own truck yet but soon one of these days I’ll be getting my own truck and may look into them. I work for Cowan system out of Cleveland TN what made you quit? If you don’t mind me asking I know the pay is not the best
I left because the pay sucks it was a local job it’s very disorganized hard to communicate with people loads not ready or won’t get loaded. I ran daily to bloomingdale Georgia floor and decor and back to cocoa Florida sometimes the loads don’t get loaded we sit there all day time counts down barely make it back. Sometimes they made 10 of us bobtail back. Oh and then cheap recaps popped so much I think in one week I had 3 blow out and they were all brand new recaps. The night shift delivered at the stores the loads we brought back. We did 478 miles daily we ran otr weekly miles and the pay wasn’t worth it. They payed $1200 weekly guaranteed after taxes took home $980. The only good thing was home daily for family sake but I needed to find more money so I left.
Yeah that’s about all I make I run the Coke account during the day down to Atlanta or Alabama area and back up. They advertise all dropping hook, but I do more live unloading or loading then I do drop and hook. Anyways, man, you take care and have safe travels.
