you misunderstand, he said the app lets you either, use usb, bluetooth or over wifi, not wireless usb, he worded it wrong

THE PLUGGING YOUR PHONES HEADPHONE JACK IN TO YOUR MIC INPUT IS A BIG NO NO, let me explain. the mic jack on your pc is amplified which could damage your pc if you plug in a normal audio device in to it, your microphone is not amplified when you plug it in there so plug your phone in to the blue audio jack. its a audio jack for things like an mp3 player or piano and things like that that are already amplified. this could save your pc from having issues with your microphone jack on your pc.

The audio jack on my laptop has a bunch of audio quality issues. I have tried a bunch of different microphones and they all have the same static sound issue. This finally solves my problem, thank you soooo much
Thank you! This is such an underrated solution, especially as time goes on and phone components get better. For the price of a 3.5mm cable, tried connecting my Android phone directly to a Zoom H1n recorder. Configured the Microphone app (by Wonder Grace) with 0 Gain, Equalizer Off, Voice In, Voice Out, and the vertical slider to the top. These settings worked great for voice capture from a whisper to a shout without any noticeable distortion. I'm sure different settings would suit various other scenarios.
I do have some problems with WO Mic though. It has a tendency to drop out/glitch up. I use USB for less latency, not much fixed with bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection either. This makes recording with it in FL Studio or OBS very troublesome. I'll be trying the AUX cable technique to see if that yields better results.

it worked! the wo method is a little longer, but definitely worth the while!
to activate USB Debugging, go to settings, then all the way down to " about this phone" or whatever it is in english, then tap on your build number info SEVEN times. this will enable developer mode and you will now find usb debugging settings if you search them on top of the settings menu.
i'm using my phone for tethering AND mic simultaneously and it works

I googled that wo mic app and apparently a lot of people says its a virus and cant be trusted so yea gonna stick with the first one.
i am not the most tech savvy on portable devices. if i were to buy a new tablet per say, can it run a speech to text program on it? also maybe a weird question but what do they mean by "voice recognition"? will it only recognize your own voice or can others in your house hold use it & will also recognize their voice? i have never used one. also can this text be saved to a word document, notepad, pdf, etc & used at a later time & continue speech to text?

i'm not a fan of these kinds of programs. desperate times made me use it. it works like a normal mic. smallest amount of lag. noticable when hearing an echo from other people but other than that, pretty much spot on.
if you are unable to even start finding what is shown here, then you probably shouldn't even be attempting it.

Looking up apps, there are 5+ apps called "microphone" and none of them have great reviews. To which one is this video referring? Was hoping for a link or picture or some way to identify it before installing.

WO Mic has a USB function, but there's no way to actually set your device as a default recording device. I don't see how people manage to use this when there's little to no information regarding HOW to turn your phone into the recording device to begin with.
Great software but unfortunately there are malicious software in the pc client, reported by many antivirus. I would stay clear from that.
I dont know why WO mic setup doesnt want to install, it just stands at around 90% and dont move for 5 minutes

The wo mic program will play the audio from my phone's mic but I don't see an option to set it as an input device anywhere in windows, how do you allow windows to see wo mic/the phone as an mic input device?

Everything line/headphone lvl source should be using LINE IN so you don't push voltage to your devices, measure that and you will find out that this is true.

Ok so i would love if you could help me here. So i installed Wo Mic maybe about a month or 2 ago and it worked fine, now just last night it stoped working. So today i decided to re install in on my phone and PC. The settings i had on for this time and last time were Bluetooth. So when i started it up it still wasent working. I tried to go on FAQ and watch videos and i still coulden't fined the problem. I really need this to work again. I am stumped on whats happening, can you please help.
