    You could use the original Spider-Man 2099 to get the arm blades on there.

    • @TheDARKNESS8030
      @TheDARKNESS8030 5 років тому +5

      Actually that whole arm with the hands would work because Bb has the the sharp fingertips. The only thing is you gotta repaint the whole arm. But I guess if your already going through the trouble you might as well.

    I have to say, doing a bit of work on a figure makes you love it more. if it was perfect out of the box i'd put it on the shelf and forget about it. but this was there's a bit more time and work put into the figure

      That's true but it also sucks that they still can't just get the qc under control

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому +1

      100% agree.. I love working on figures.. thats our hobby! what fun is there to just take it out of the box and just put it on the shelf to display (which IS great too).. but its nice to see what you can improve.

    Great tutorial very useful also you should paint the back of the wings now since that's another thing Mattel skipped out on doing

    Look we have to go over something . . And I'm only trying to give the best advice possible not be an ass or anything
    You have to stop boiling your figures
    Me and many other (and much better customizers) thought this was done and over with but yet we keep seeing people do it
    Boiling is not only inefficient but the heat transfer is all over the place and not directed towards any one part . . You're basically heating more plastic than necessary
    A heat gun is usually $20-30 . . And will do wonders to heat up only the area you need and then cooling it off is easy . . Hell I many times even this year have used the freezer to help with reshaping some plastic after heating
    I've seen people ruin figures or burn themselves because of hot boiling water getting trapped in a torso and spilling out
    But please at least hear me out and try it . . Heck a decent blow dryer will still work great!
    Always here to help!

      @mr.smithgnrsmith7808 5 років тому

      I agree 100%...heat gun every time

      Hi there! I appreciate the advice! even in my older videos with basic body swaps,I do recommend using a blow dryer too. However for ME, (and I consider myself a decent veteran).. I'm fine with the boil and pop and never had a problem. thanks for the advice and the input! much appreciated!

    Question? Would the marvel legends legs be able to swap out with the DC figure ?

  • @yokaicustoms
    @yokaicustoms 5 років тому +1

    Liquitex matte varnish is really good for tightening up joints and won't be as difficult as super glue, which can also frost the plastic.
    It's a water soluble liquid (kind of like thin elmers glue) that you can brush on. I just dab a bunch into the joint and then move it around and then leave it alone to set up.

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому +1

      thanks for that tip! how long is the drying process?

    Was it not possible to remove the lower arm from the Batman figure and peg it into the upper bicep of the Spider-Man figure at the double elbow joint to preserve the lower arm fins? I see they both have pegs and could have possibly been compatible

  • @Arrowdodger

    It's pretty cool. Personally, I think I'll leave his arms as-is when I get it, just since I'd miss the forearm blades, but this looks real nice. Kitbashing's awesome.

    • @michaelvillarreal2997
      @michaelvillarreal2997 5 років тому

      Hey man I use model masters acrylic paint. You can find them at hobby lobby or amazon. Make you before you paint you give the figure a light sand with 1000 grit paper to get the shine off, rinse, before you apply the paint make sure to add 2 to 3 small drops of water to eliminate the brush strokes. Seems like a lot but it is quick and you will get good results out of it. I recently did a punisher custom on the that body and did the same thing. Good luck!

    Hi Wylun. I've been using Testors Gray Primer (#4680) before painting Testors flat acryllic paints, but all my figures are turning out glossy. Can you suggest a primer that has a good matte finish? Thx for your artistry & tutleage!

    Recently I broke two cable Sasquatch baf upper shoulders. Even after I loosened them up with hot water first. Then I broke a PO dameron pilot's neck after I put it in hot water. Ripped one edge. Going to use epoxy for the neck. But this plastic is getting weird. Very brittle.

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому

      hm.. with stuck or tight joints, I would use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat it up and try to move it around.. if that doesnt work, atleast you have the area softened. I suggest buy Silicone Shock Oil to try to loosen up joints. check out my past tutorial videos.

    Hope he had an extra black suit spidey.that figures better than the beyond.so classic compared to beyond.and was it possible to change out the wrist hinge instead of mod ing it.

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому

      hm... well i would have to find a comparable figure with the same forearm.. but that is limiting. Ya its a sacrifice for the blacksuit.. but hasbro comes out w/ new spiderman figures every year. A new Black suit spiderman just came out too. (not classic looking but the symbiote one). I actually like that body with the white spider on its body.. i might get that and just swap the heads.

    Has anybody tried marvel legends blue Spiderman 2099 figures arms? I'm thinking of using him for the arm blades mostly and of course id paint his arms the appropriate color.

  • @Escape-TheHellview
    @Escape-TheHellview 5 років тому

    I have a question about the legs and some of my figures like my Darth Revan his legs are loose point where they meet they moved fine but they always have that small little wobble you probably know what I'm talking about it happens on a lot of figures I was just wondering if you get what I'm talking about or should I try and go into more detail I'm wondering why it does that

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому

      i THINK I understand what you are saying.. My best opinion is to either use some superglue or Future Finish and apply some in the joints and rotate it. use very little at a time and rotate, you dont want to get it stuck.. repeat if necessary.

    • @ckeifoo
      @ckeifoo 5 років тому

      I believe it's bicep and below not at the shoulders.
      @WylunCustoms, because the Legends have better articulation, would you adapt and customize the spidey's body into Batman? Or would that be too much work?

    • @PoilishedMahogony
      @PoilishedMahogony 5 років тому

      yeah sorry i mean from arms to that bicep joint

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому +1

      ahh... too much for me to do now. plus I'm really liking the Multiverse body molds in general. If you took the spiderman body, you gotta prep it.. u gotta base it.. u gotta spray it.. then you gotta repaint the red batman symbol or get a cut out.. .takes a process. For ME atleast. I just wanted to be done w/ this in a afternoon haha. But it is true, I'm really liking the Multiverse body molds and wanna keep it as original as possible for my collection.

    • @WylunCustoms
      @WylunCustoms  5 років тому +1

      yaya, what you see in the video is what I had to do. One arm went into the bicep peg no problem.. the other about 80% ok.. could of been fine for most.. but since I was doing work on it, I went in and tightened it up. HEY ! I hope you enjoy the shock oil. Remember use 1-2 DROPS only at first and see how that works.. these things work great but too much is annoying. good luck!

      ehh. not for me.. I wanted to keep the base body the Batman figure.. also didnt want to repaint the whole body and repaint the red bat symbol. If I wanted to do go the whole repaint route.. i would of done that along time ago b/c I have other batman beyond heads to use.
