Dr. Axe: Your suggestions are most welcome to me at 76. After years of an active lifestyle, I haven't given up. For lunch I ttried your turmeric, & cayenne (which I've just started putting on my meals without prompting), so you are TIMELY for all avtive folks.

Thank you Dr. Axe! I'm a Disabled Veteran and needless to say the VA doesn't do anything "Natural" so I have to be my own advocate. The things I've learned from you are truly changing my life, and in turn my family life as well. Starting with diet and gut health and making small changes every week, they become part of a healthy lifestyle that I can stick with. By incorporating a little of everything my quality of life is definitely improving! After years of trying, I finally got approved to have acupuncture done locally and I can't recommend it enough! For mind, body, and soul it's literally been a Godsend! I see a lot of folks searching for a "Holy Grail" pill or potion, but it's just not out there. Anyhoo, I'm just extremely grateful and impressed with how you selflessly share your knowledge with us. Lord knows that if I'd left it completely to the VA, I'd still be leaving their pharmacy with enough meds to fill a paper grocery bag, be completely miserable, hopeless, and deteriorating. No Sir...NOT FOR ME! Again, Thank you SO MUCH and God Bless you and your family!

So I am eighty years old and veteran of Korea and Vietnam, and crashed in a helicopter. These are all good things to do. And things like bone broth and turmeric (not mentioned is aspirin or Ibuprofen) helps with the daily pains. When he got to stem cell therapy, that is getting far out and maybe costly. I would not use words like "fantastic," but for the most part no harm can come from some spicy foods, and some ginger and all those things that we can get at the grocery store. So the old vaudeville performer falls over, on stage, and the doctor is called. He is working on the patient when a lady in the audience calls out, "Give him some chicken soup!" he disregards, but after a few yells, he responds with, "My dear lady, this man is having a heart attack, what good would chicken soup do?" And she yells back, "Couldn't hurt!"

Warning! If you have an autoimmune disorder, animal protein can make you worse, so learn more before relying on bone broth! I've been in serious pain for most of my life, and while nothing can stop the pain (short of being put into a coma!), I'm grateful for even the smallest amount of help, and some of these things are, in fact, helpful. The most effective being the spices. Also I've found that foods high in potassium and magnesium help with muscle cramps quite a lot. What I didn't know about were the oils, so I'm anxious to try that! Thank you Dr. Axe!

what about needing black pepper to increase the bioavailablity of turmeric? I find a higher effectiveness when I mix them together, not just in food recipes but also in creams and oils. I have also found that using essential oils in combination mixed in a hot/warm bath provide the highest level of pain reduction. I suffer from a plethora of health issues most of which have created a chronic pain conditions. I have limited effectiveness with medication and sadly prolotherapy only caused me more pain and did not resolve the issue. So far for the spinal damage I have, RFA's have been the only procedure that has provided releif but sadly here in Canada they do not burn the nerves as deeply as c9nducted in the US so I have to have them redone every 12-18 mos. Kratom is EXTREMELY addictive (& kills motivation, once it wears off)!

For those looking into prolo-therapy, bear in mind that insurance does not cover this form of treatment, and it is expensive. The success rate is only 80 90%. I've had FIFTEEN treatments on my knee, and it didn't work that well for me. Also, make sure you find a good doctor. The one that worked on me was board certified, but couldn't really figure out why the treatment didn't work. I spent literally thousands of dollars for nothing! So, if your pain isn't healing and the damage isn't too extensive, and you have the money, you might want to consider porlotherapy. It does work for some people.

Woke up with tense back pain, probably from sleeping wrong and thought it would go away throughout the day and it didn’t.
So that’s how I came to this video.
I had some peppermint oil and coconut oil and rubbed that where the pain was and immediately felt a relief.
Still a little tense but definitely a lot more relieved thank youuuuuu
Side note: I also had some white willow bark supplements and took one about 30 mins before I did the peppermint oil rub.

I'm fed up of being in pain. Does anyone know if these actually work? Was told I had costocondritis but now it's been 3 years they are saying maybe it's nerve pain or fibromyalgia. Gave me amitriptyline but I don't like the look of the side effects but need something for the pain.
