I worked on a wildland fire crew in Wyoming back in the 1980's and when we didn't have fires to fight, one of our projects was replacing some of the Oregon Trail Markers along the trail. It was great to traverse some of the same ground that many pioneers had traveled and see some of the landmarks off in the distance that they described in their diaries.
You can still see the wagon trails though Wyoming especially in the south central part of Wyoming kind of cool. Check out the Johnson county cattle war. South Pass city if you are interested in old time settlers
I grew up in Wyoming. The memories are grest! The cold weather was not for me. The stories I heard growing up , are still part of me. I moved to Denver, thinking it would be warmer. The cold weather there, drove me away, but, I have good memories. Now, after living in a warm climate, I am here to stay. Quest where? Near, Disneyland. But, wyoming, is great, if you can stand the cold weather.
I love my Wyoming home even when it's -25 below like it is right now outside my log home that I built 20+ years ago. POWDER RIVER LET'ER BUCK GO POKES.
@Joe Blogs Yes but those the were in the handcart companies were converts from England Denmark Sweden and Norway. They were also heading to you to which was then part of Mexico in not the United States so technically they were immigrants on more than one level.
my two budgies Rocky and Tico Lived there for a time. There are jobs but they are all filled. Vacancies are from, deaths, retirement or firing so not much turnover. Most of the state is rugged and desolate, semi arid, and not for everyone. The life timers are polite, grudgingly accepting but do not easily accept newcomers. It takes awhile but once you proved yourself the doors will open. I saw it written-They will talk to you across the fence but won’t let you through the gate.
No, people are indigenous to North America. None. The American Indians here, were after other tribes... and certainly not, for millions of years. But thousands. In the span of Earth-time... all of us arrived within seconds of each other.
only wrong part . was saying native “Americans” as they were not Americans” there people were here millions of years before a off track want to be sailor bumped into this content. it would be hard to list all the tribes by name, but should have said native peoples.

I'm now a retired trucker. I loved driving through Wyoming, as long as the snow wasn't too heavy.
And what state did you retire in?

Found a Pretty good sign Rock on Muddy Creek in-between Baggs and Creston JCT.
God made Wyoming then what was left over he made ever thing else
If that was true, everything would be pure shit
God, Guns & Guts is what it takes to live here......
If Independence Rock was here in California it would be covered by graffiti and tents and meth pipes.
and probably some weird-ass celebrities graffiti

Don't forget bloody used uncapped syringes laying around EVERYWHERE.
That's why I'm leaving. No more border states for me!

They were emigrants. People who emigrated from one place to another. They came from eastern states to western United States
This is American History. I want to visit Wyoming one day.
I live near Yellowstone, where are you ?
Stop saying immigrant don't like it it's America
Big difference immigrants and illegals but let's face it we were all from immigrants
It must suck to have so much hatred; It must make life a real drag. @Bill Orr
I am the product of immigration.
My mother was an immigrant. This is America freedom of speech. You can always move to china if you'r offended. Lol 😉

I will bet Illinois is worse
North Carolina is beautiful. Especially western NC.
North Carolina might suck and be racist but at least there are people there 😂
You can see where Mormons and settlers drive in two paths along the trail... Come to my Wyoming and find my truths
The only transcontinental hand cart journey? ... I bet there are a few million Chinese who would beg to differ 😎
@Allan Roser, How are you doing.
I'm from Rock Springs Wyoming... Pilot Butte is MY HERITAGE... YOU NEED TO SEE WHAT HISTORICAL FICTION IS PRESENT MORMONS ARE NOT THE HERITAGE
I can't watch your idea of WYOMING with a clear conscience
The western trails are still open. keep going west to China or Russia.
Why?

As a strange wyoming resident, I can confirm
MikDonsen they need to be avoided
