Thank you so much Zi Zi. This honestly means the whole entire world to me. I do hope that this clears up the drama as well as the harassment on social media (Especially on instagram). I wish I could express how much I appreciate the support to everyone in words but then again, I have no words. Thank you all so so SO much! I love you all.

First one, yes! Also, don't stop, baby girl. Don't stop doing what you love just because of some assholes who are desperate for attention. There's always gonna be people who pick on others' styles, but thankfully there's also some supportive and nice people out there, who are the ones who deserve recognition for sticking up for you. Also thanks Zizi for posting this, and letting people know the actual difference between plagiarism and simply being inspired by another's style.
I hope you stopped getting harrased, it's so petty for someone to do that, like are we not allowed to take inspo or ideas from other artists and have everything be 100% original?? Phobia, I will be honest. I don't have a twitter account mainly because...well I find it is for twits. After this video by Zi-Zi, I am debating with myself to make one sololy, for now, to follow you as a passive middle finger to folks like this guy. YOUR WORK looks pretty amazing and I wouldn't mind seeing more while at the same time passively sticking it to people like this. Keep on go.

For y’all who don’t even realize, vivziepop does not animate Hazbin or helluva all by herself. She has animators to help her work on it. All of these animators have to draw in her style so that it’s consistent!! So if anything Phobia has a very high chance of being able to work with Vivziepop BECAUSE she draws that way!

My last art teacher said that every artist in all time have been "stealing" or as you say, take inspiration from each other. That's how you develop as an artist. It's not just in art we're "stealing" from each other, it's everything in life, fashion, makeup, houses, cars, lifestyles etc. :) Like you said. Don't copy just get inspired!
My high school art teacher told me that practicing in other people's styles is the best way to learn, and grow, and eventually create your own style. (And your art will always be different from the original you take inspiration from, or even copy, and that can be seen when we look at actual art fakes of famous, classic paintings. They always(?) end up notably different.) The artist in question's work reminds me of the stuff I used to draw when I was young. I LOVED a particular DA user's work, and I would really do my best to create the same look and feel they were able to create in their pieces. It helped me progress as an artist, and I eventually grew out of drawing in their style and into drawing in my unique way.
Yeah, it does. So does tracing. As long as you post post the tracing calling it your own, it can teach you how to draw something. I like to draw in styles I like as well and create my own style from taking in aspects of all the styles I like

As a mature (aka, someone in their 30’s) artist who has been involved in the online art world since the dinosaur age, I’m going to say that this girl is definitely inspired by Vivziepop’s artwork and has adopted her style to an extent. However, as a result, I’m assuming that she is young and just starting out on her artistic journey. At some point something will click and her style will develop into something more unique. Every artist starts out copying from their idols, then they go on to shape a style from all of their influences. Don’t worry about it.
I can't wait for this guy claiming "plagiarism" to say that The Digital Circus copied Phobia Circus just because they have Circus in the title and take place in a Circus.

If you notice, Phobia’s work consists of more pastel colors, whereas Viv’s is more brightly colored. Not to say that these two don’t do the other way around, but there’s a clear difference. Either way both of they’re art are great 👍

which is only wrong if you claim the tracing as your own drawing-
(sometimes i’ll trace over other artists drawings in my free time, and then try coloring it as best as i can.)

I think the meme summed it up best. It's obviously a style that's inspired, but it's not theft or plagiarism. If we got rid of everything that was inspired by something else we'd have pretty much nothing.
Technically claiming art-style theft is a crime.cuase it's copyfruad which is claiming more rights then what copyright gives.
I think that one way or another, almost everyone's art style is based off of someone else's, especially if it's a cartoon style.

I know is late but i wanted to leave a comment, this guy "el plexpero" is really toxic and the most of his old fans (i was in his fandom because he used to update artists memes i feel reaaaally bad for this) They left him because they know how toxic it is and in those most recent days he updated videos of other artists and accuses them of virtually any kind of thing.
For example if an artist ia trying to do a different style he says that she/he didn't improve in his/her art. Then he accuses a well-known artist of not being improved while instead she has improved and also so much. I hope that this situation will end.. Thx if someone has read this message

@gapple * So the thing about language--and especially the English language--that gives this discussion more depth is that the connotations of words can give even close synonyms very different meanings. Now, this means a few things. For one, you CAN say that insulting someone is harassing them, but... not really? Not on its own, usually. It has a lot to do with intent. It has a lot to do with persistence, too. And frequency. If you poke someone on the shoulder once to get their attention, that's not harassment. When you do it multiple times, trying to coerce them into doing something, that's harassment.
Taking this back to the main point, here, bullying is not exactly the same as harassment. Anyone can harass anyone. Bullying implies an imbalance of power in favor of the offending party. You don't think of a bully as a kid with the exact same social standing and physical appearance as another picking on each other. (It technically still is, but that's not what you think of.) Usually when being harassed, you can push back and even match the offender. When being bullied, there's no real way to fight back. At best you can get someone bigger or more popular to help you out, but you can't reasonably retaliate, yourself.
Also, I just wanna point out that it's weird you're acting like "harassing" is worse. I definitely feel like "bullying" has the more sour connotation, but neither one is really a good thing, so I guess it's all the same, in the end? Just my long, roundabout way of saying that we shouldn't cut words out of our vocabulary because those different words carry a different connotation for a reason.

Soapy Woapy Maybe, but what I really meant was that she herself has a “borrowed” art style like how she grabbed things from Tim burton/creator of invader zim so it’s not original at all and any other artist out there can do the same thing without being told they are copying her.
Dennise Torres well no it’s the way she brings together all the traits that makes her style so distinctive. You can instantly recognize her style for a reason. Sure, certain things are borrowed from other artists but saying her style isn’t original is just false dude. And it’s clear the artist took heavy inspiration from Viv’s style and that’s okay! But claiming Viv’s style isn’t original ain’t it buckaroo.
And not to mention her animations have other animators and friends working on them too. That's why sometimes during the has big hotel pilot, there are slight style differences.

Now for context I take a lot of art style inspiration from Sashley, specifically more of her old artstyle.
So this is how I responded:
