I’m glad you referred to Hoffmann as the “main villain”. I’ve always thought he was the absolute worst. I’m no fan of John Kramer but he is so deluded he thinks what he is doing is right, whereas Hoffman knows is wrong, but enjoys the benefits he gets from it.
I used to think that but as evil as Hoffman is John's worse. People who do evil while thinking they're doing good are more evil than people who know what they do is wrong and don't care.

And Hoffman made unwinnable games which also makes him terrible. He has himself convinced that he is God Himself and that he is the ONLY person to save these people. He's absolutely delusional and is so far gone that he doesn't even have the humanity to consider if what he's doing is wrong. Thanos (In the MCU) was genuinely convinced that he was doing the right thing, and thus went to some insane lengths to do it. (I.E: Sacrificing Gamora, hunting down all of the infinity stones, including the gauntlet) Whereas Loki is just an asshole for the sake of being an asshole. He doesn't care about ruling planets and universes. He just wants to piss off Thor. Lol
I can never, never, NEVER watch Jill's "incident". It's so painful, it's so uncomfortable. I flinch and cringe every time it's shown, I can't watch it. Poor Jill, poor Gideon, poor John.

I never understood why John would involve Jill in his final wish, instead of letting Gordon handle Hoffman. He endangered her and he knew it. That was the only reason to ask Gordon to keep an eye on her.
John was aware Hoffman would most likely go off the rails after John dies, because he sensed he liked brutality of killing and he already shown he has no issue sabotaging "games" to make them unwinnable.
It amazes me from a legal perspective that you can be bequeathed a mystery box from your serial killer ex-husband and there's no precedent that says "Hold up. We get to see what's inside because duh". Also, side note: John is the one who tells Amanda to get the note written in the desk. Don't you think if he knew where it was he'd also know what it said?
🧐Jill is honestly one of the best people in the series and I always loved her, no matter how background she was. Being the spouse of a serial killer is so interesting.🤔
I liked Jill. After what happened to her, she could have gone the same way as John in terms of looking for vengeance but seeing her go to the factory to ask John if he'd seen Cecil as he had disappeared, knowing that she went BACK to work in that clinic with addicts despite what happened, I think it says a lot about who she was as a human being. I think pre Gideon death/cancer, John was probably similar to her. I know we can say that she should have turned John in to the police but it's obvious she still loved him a great deal. She did eventually do the right thing when she realised that she was dealing with a complete psycho who was NOT going to stop whereas with John, she knew there would be an end to it eventually as he was going to die.
Question about Hoffman: Did he write the note so he could sabotage Amanda’s game and become John’s successor? Or did he write it because he anticipated that Amanda killing Lynn would lead to John’s death so Hoffman could walk free and not be a part of John’s legacy anymore?
John seems aware of the letter, telling Amanda where to find the envelope. I think John may have instructed Hoffman to do so. Or at least that that may have been the original intent, they may have changed their minds and retconed it. Jill's anger with Hoffman and her unwillingness to give him a way out may simply have been that Hoffman never saw fit to tell her this crucial piece of advice, and wanted the whole ordeal to end.
Jill Tuck is actually among my favorite characters from the Saw series. I was always delighted to see her on camera and was very much bummed when she was killed.

@@ravene9978 What were her feets of intelligence exactly? She didn't build any traps, she didn't have to evade police, and she didn't even ensure Hofmann dies in the reverse bear trap, she could have just stayed in the room until Hofmann dies but she didn't which allowed him to escape.

It's nice to know Amanda's fears of Jill and John finding out about her part in their unborn son's death was all in her head (at least with Jill) by Jill trying to take revenge on what happened to Amanda on Hoffman. I mean the reason Amanda went off the rail and did what Hoffman told her to fail her test was because she was scared of how John will react about finding out about her part in Gideon's death.

Fantastic video! Very well made! I always loved Jill as a character because she is just a loving wife that went through the most horrific pain of losing a child. She is loyal and loving. I think she’s the best character of the franchise. Very underrated for character development too!
3:24 I think with John him and Jill losing Gideon, him getting his cancer and seeing certain people around him doing horrible things twisted his desire to help people in a more extreme direction. And part of it was that he hated the fact that some of the people he tested had their lives ahead of them while his cancer was slowly killing him. He does test the odd really horrible person like Matthews, Hoffman through Jill, Cecil, William, Anna and the people in the Saw 5 game but the majority of them are either people who did things that weren't that bad but John didn't like or people he had a grudge against. And the survivors of his traps were rightly traumatised and in some cases it made them worse.
Probably the most underserved death in the whole franchise, right alongside Detective Kerry. So glad Hoffman finally ends up getting his after what happens to Jill.

John had cancer and was about fifty-ish years old. That would age him up for sure, accounting for chemo. Jill was certainly in her twenties during pregnancy, and in her thirties, I imagine, late thirties, during the course of the films. Remember that she lost her baby at least, what, eight years before in 1994 or so? John would have been in his early forties, so not so great a difference as to cause a scandal.
Your right her character throughout saw 4 -7 had me not pay attention to her because I was mainly confused but this vid really help me see her storyline clearly for the 1st time and I'm a huge fan of the Saw franchise 👍👍👍

Despite Jill being killed by Hoffman in the end, Jill knew it was going to come down to her or Mark but both could not live simultaneously. She tried to take Hoffman out, but sadly failed due to Mark's will to live. Thus he ended up killing her. I hope we get to see Jill or Hoffman again in Saw X! It would make sense they'd come back too considering I think Saw X happens between Saw 1 and Saw 2!

I was really disappointed with how Jill was handled in Saw 3D. After Saw Vl, I thought we were gonna see a new badass side of her who was more then ready to clash with Hoffman
Yeah. In Saw V she helps with Hoffman's framing of Strahm as the new Jigsaw and carries out the promise from the tape found in John's autopsy in Saw IV that Hoffman would be tested in Saw VI. But in VII she was reduced to asking for help from Internal Affairs cops and spending the film running away from Hoffman only to eventually get caught and killed by him. 7 was a disappointment in general. It was hyped up as Dr Gordon's big return after people spent Saws 2-6 wondering where he was and if he was alive or dead and then he only appears in 2 scenes. Bobby Dagen was a boring protagonist and the "Hoffman and Gibson hate each other because Hoffman killed an unarmed suspect he could have arrested so Gibson reported him to IA" subplot sucked too. John's flashback appearance calling Bobby out for being a liar and getting famous off his work wasn't as good as 4's flasbacks to his backstory or showing the beginnings of his plans to test William for denying terminally ill people health insurance out of greed from 6.
Summed it up perfectly. Yeah Saw 7 was the only film in the franchise that really left me disappointed. As the “final chapter” the focus should’ve been mainly on Hoffman,Jill,Dr. Gordon, as well as keeping John’s presence strong throughout like the previous films.

The 4th Friday the 13th was called The Final Chapter but if you count Freddy vs Jason and the remake there were 8 more. The 6th Nightmare on Elm Street film was Freddy's Dead the Final Nightmare which was followed by Wes Craven's New Nightmare, Freddy vs Jason and the remake.
Yeah I didn’t think it made much sense to make her running scared most of the movie. If anything she’d snap and become tough though out all Johns lessons and life situations. The 7th was the weakest one
Fun fact- the actor playing Hoffman also played a ghost on an episode of Charmed 😝 I knew he looked familiar to me. But I had to do a little digging because the episode he's in isn't one of my favorites. And I thought he was a different set of characters (one actor, two roles) in Charmed 😅 And he's also in Once Upon a Time. He plays Killian's brother's captain 😃

8:14 I think Jill knew Strahm would get trapped by Hoffman and wanted revenge on him for interrogating and threatening her which is why she helps Hoffman frame Strahm as the new Jigsaw in Saw V by lying to Erickson that Strahm is stalking her. But given that Saw VI's post credits scene hints that Corbett told Perez and Erickson that Amanda told her not to trust Hoffman it begs the question of whether Jill and Hoffman's plan worked or Erickson and Perez only let Hoffman think they suspected Strahm so he wouldn't realise they'd found him out.
I liked Jill but honestly it would be cool to bring Jill Back. Not resurrection status but if they revive the series and make more saws following the originals I would love to see more of her and Hoffman and Gordons involvements. Amanda would be cool too but idk they dove into her background alot as it is they would probably just need to glance over her conscience and give us more evidence that she did believe in Johns methods more so than we are led to believe y her actions and how she acted in Saw 3
I hated Hoffman so much, such a vicious brute. Brutal simply because he enjoyed it. He ended up being worse than Seth Baxter which was who set him on his path to meet John. I really liked Jill and I so wanted her to deliver justice to Hoffman. I hated that she died, & even worse that he got even that taste of enjoyment of killing her himself before he was thwarted by Gordon. #SawdidJilldirty
I barely even noticed Jill. I always thought she was the ex-wife of the crazy serial kil---helper. (Kind of there. Kind of not. Knew what her husband was doing. In my opinion John making cecils trap was messed up but understandable. Cecil directly wronged him. If someone killed your child you wouldn’t feel bad for something like that. Beyond that it’s all f’d up

After all, Strahm mistreated her during the interrogation. 13:42 I have the theory that she actually didn't carry John's wish exactly, because she doesn't provide a way out for Hoffman, she wasn't testing him just executing him 14:21 Where is specified that they remain hidden for a year? 14:35 We never know when the Public Trap happens nor its effect on Jill. In the audiocommentaries the screenwriters said the trap was supposed to happen before John's death, because Gordon and John are watching it in the crowd in the script

1:03 John filming her in the park is pretty on point for their characters, though. They both had the same end goal, but in different ways. She worked in within the law, in (more or less) in the public eye, and face to face. He worked behind the scenes, through proxies, and watched people on camera. Also, on my honeymoon with my wife, I was the one who filmed most of the time the camera was on. I hate being on camera. So, wanting to record those fun moments can be important to couples.
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure John would have been a good father due to his obsessive planning. He probably would have had Gideon’s *whole life* planned out for him and done everything possible to steer him in that direction regardless of whether or not it was what Gideon himself wanted to do with his life
Although the definition of being homeless is that you don't have a home, there's normally a deeper reason as to why a homeless can't just 'buy a home' or even just pay rent to live somewhere

I never thought that John and Jill had that much age difference 😅 Maybe 10 years max? But now when looking they had definitely few years more 🤔
John had cancer and was about fifty-ish years old. That would age him up for sure, accounting for chemo. Jill was certainly in her twenties during pregnancy, and in her thirties, I imagine, late thirties, during the course of the films. Remember that she lost her baby at least, what, eight years before in 1994 or so? John would have been in his early forties, so not so great a difference as to cause a scandal.
There's a 21 year age gap between the two actors, for scale.

Despite Jill being killed by Hoffman in the end, Jill knew it was going to come down to her or Mark but both could not live simultaneously. She tried to take Hoffman out, but sadly failed due to Mark's will to live. Thus he ended up killing her. I hope we get to see Jill or Hoffman again in Saw X! It would make sense they'd come back too considering I think Saw X happens between Saw 1 and Saw 2!

Honestly they ruined Jill in 7 because yeah in 6 she was paranoid but she still outsmarted Mark but in 7 she was weak. Also 7 was awful

I was really disappointed with how Jill was handled in Saw 3D. After Saw Vl, I thought we were gonna see a new badass side of her who was more then ready to clash with Hoffman
Yeah. In Saw V she helps with Hoffman's framing of Strahm as the new Jigsaw and carries out the promise from the tape found in John's autopsy in Saw IV that Hoffman would be tested in Saw VI. But in VII she was reduced to asking for help from Internal Affairs cops and spending the film running away from Hoffman only to eventually get caught and killed by him. 7 was a disappointment in general. It was hyped up as Dr Gordon's big return after people spent Saws 2-6 wondering where he was and if he was alive or dead and then he only appears in 2 scenes. Bobby Dagen was a boring protagonist and the "Hoffman and Gibson hate each other because Hoffman killed an unarmed suspect he could have arrested so Gibson reported him to IA" subplot sucked too. John's flashback appearance calling Bobby out for being a liar and getting famous off his work wasn't as good as 4's flasbacks to his backstory or showing the beginnings of his plans to test William for denying terminally ill people health insurance out of greed from 6.
Summed it up perfectly. Yeah Saw 7 was the only film in the franchise that really left me disappointed. As the “final chapter” the focus should’ve been mainly on Hoffman,Jill,Dr. Gordon, as well as keeping John’s presence strong throughout like the previous films.
@@mtb5431 Any horror film series where one of the films calls itself the final one count on it not being. The 4th Friday the 13th was called The Final Chapter but if you count Freddy vs Jason and the remake there were 8 more. The 6th Nightmare on Elm Street film was Freddy's Dead the Final Nightmare which was followed by Wes Craven's New Nightmare, Freddy vs Jason and the remake.
Yeah I didn’t think it made much sense to make her running scared most of the movie. If anything she’d snap and become tough though out all Johns lessons and life situations. The 7th was the weakest one

My god I love John Kramer as a character. So perfect because he is so flawed, and you see it seep into his relationship. Sad to see Jill go out the way she did.

8:14 I think Jill knew Strahm would get trapped by Hoffman and wanted revenge on him for interrogating and threatening her which is why she helps Hoffman frame Strahm as the new Jigsaw in Saw V by lying to Erickson that Strahm is stalking her. But given that Saw VI's post credits scene hints that Corbett told Perez and Erickson that Amanda told her not to trust Hoffman it begs the question of whether Jill and Hoffman's plan worked or Erickson and Perez only let Hoffman think they suspected Strahm so he wouldn't realise they'd found him out.
I liked Jill but honestly it would be cool to bring Jill Back. Not resurrection status but if they revive the series and make more saws following the originals I would love to see more of her and Hoffman and Gordons involvements. Amanda would be cool too but idk they dove into her background alot as it is they would probably just need to glance over her conscience and give us more evidence that she did believe in Johns methods more so than we are led to believe y her actions and how she acted in Saw 3

I hated Hoffman so much, such a vicious brute. Brutal simply because he enjoyed it. He ended up being worse than Seth Baxter which was who set him on his path to meet John. I really liked Jill and I so wanted her to deliver justice to Hoffman. I hated that she died, & even worse that he got even that taste of enjoyment of killing her himself before he was thwarted by Gordon. #SawdidJilldirty

After all, Strahm mistreated her during the interrogation. 13:42 I have the theory that she actually didn't carry John's wish exactly, because she doesn't provide a way out for Hoffman, she wasn't testing him just executing him 14:21 Where is specified that they remain hidden for a year? 14:35 We never know when the Public Trap happens nor its effect on Jill. In the audiocommentaries the screenwriters said the trap was supposed to happen before John's death, because Gordon and John are watching it in the crowd in the script

Someone miss the reason of why so many are homeless. Homeless are often people poor and without a job to buy a house or even rent a house or apartment for various reasons.
Unfortunately Hoffman surviving the reverse beartrap proves he did indeed had the will to survive, just not the will to change his ways.

1:03 John filming her in the park is pretty on point for their characters, though. They both had the same end goal, but in different ways. She worked in within the law, in (more or less) in the public eye, and face to face. He worked behind the scenes, through proxies, and watched people on camera.
Also, on my honeymoon with my wife, I was the one who filmed most of the time the camera was on. I hate being on camera. So, wanting to record those fun moments can be important to couples.

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure John would have been a good father due to his obsessive planning. He probably would have had Gideon’s *whole life* planned out for him and done everything possible to steer him in that direction regardless of whether or not it was what Gideon himself wanted to do with his life
