As a person that unfortunately can’t afford any of this, watching your Chanel makes me feel like I am part of this collection quest.. cheers from Montreal Canada
Hey Danny! You don’t have to buy everything pristine or perfect. I would have been happy with just the base and crane for $60, but this happened to come up :). For the 1983 version I will most likely just get the base and crane in a box and forego the baggies figures at all. There are so many ways to get these :). Thanks for watching my friend
Another awesome fantastic video of star wars jabba s dungeon playset keep collecting and may the force be with you all star wars fans the force is strong with this one the palawa collector
Gonna need to invest in a nest camera. You’ll get notifications on your phone when anyone comes up to the door. It’s been great for us as we get packages regularly as well.
Wow, what a great find and price! It's really cool to have an unassembled playset like that because when you open it it's like the moment when you first got it. Dagobah is my number 1 playset so can't wait to see the next video. Thanks for another great video!
Amazing find!!! So happy for you the rain didn't destroy it. Kudos to the seller. Getting my first figures back from grading tomorrow. Hope I don't have this problem as its been raining and snowing here for a week. Not going to lie, I'm extremely nervous about the grades I got
Hey Bird! Yea I was like a kid on Christmas the first time I get my grades, and honestly I still am! At least the figures are protected by the acrylic! Thanks for watching my friend!
That is crazy cool and beautiful. Congratulations on finding one in such nice condition. My heart sank for you when I saw it in the rain. Glad it was A+ shipping. Cheers brother. #FB
Thanks my friend! Yea thank goodness for people who care about packaging when they deliver 🙏. Thanks for watching and being a member of The Padawan Academy on Facebook!
3:00 my heart jumped into my throat too at seeing that. I live in the Central East Coast of Florida and it rains hard here in the summer. I’ve had packages delivered in this exact way even though I have a covered porch and a table inside the porch which is always open. I’ve had packages left outside the porch… and every day at 3:00 PM in the summer … downpour. These days I work from home so I tend to try and meet the driver, but I’ve had a few packages water damaged, and even non collectibles.
Nice pickup Joey...glad you dodged a bullet with the rain. That's a fun playset. I had the droid factory and my best friend had the grey version of the dungeon set. Great memories!
Hey Matt! Yea I truly dodged a very expensive bullet! Man I would have been gut wrenched! Thanks for watching my friend and talking the time to comment :)
I love this channel! It takes me straight back to many Christmas Day moments and Awesome Birthday Wishes. Every chance my brother and I had, we would get the newest available Star Wars action figures or their Star Ship, Liar or Meditation Chambers and or Trash Compactor! From the Millennium Falcon to Slave-1 , we had literally everything possible. Thanks for sharing your awesome tips and collections! If I could turn back time I’d keep those items in pristine condition
Hey Mike! I’m glad you are enjoying the channel, that means a lot to me! Although I love these figures and playsets in pristine condition, there is NOTHING like playing with my childhood figures and playsets because I can never replace those. So the ones you have that have been broken, played with, and used… those are the most special items that can never be replaced :). Thanks for watching my friend and for leaving such an awesome comment!
@@thepadawancollectorofficial What wonderful fan service my friend! You’re reply absolutely made my day! To your point, you are 100% correct! My younger brother and I grew up on a 500+ acre farm and we had a few awesome creeks to visit and we didn’t hesitate to take our Star Wars battles creek side! The AT-AT’s and the other ships and Bantha’s and other accessories came with us everywhere Thank you so much for the awesome fan service
Talk about knocking off a great item from your list Joey! Definitely one of the most sought after and one of the more expensive pieces due to the figures enclosed. You definitely went the right route picking up such an immaculate piece that is complete with sealed baggies and unused stickers. I would love to have one that nice in my collection. As for receiving this one in the rain, that just happened to me recently as well. I saw that the package delivered in the midst of a storm and knew that I couldn't get to my home for several hours as I was out of town. Thankfully, just like in your instance, the shipper had it well packaged and it came out of the box in perfect condition, despite the outer box being completely soaked. Looks like the force was with us and we both got lucky with playset deliveries!! Great tips for those purchasing collectibles as well. I would say about 75% of the time the items I pick up online are packaged very well. It's's just those very hard to find, great condition boxes that make me a bit nervous until they arrive and are unpacked. Thankfully for the most part everything has arrived in good order. Another fantastic entry in the latest run, can't wait to see what you find next. GL!!
Thanks Mopar! Yea this one was great to find like this and I’m glad your seller packaged up the item so it was protected! Thanks for watching my friend!
Great video Joey! Amazing set, and wayyy too rich for my blood but to see those last 17 in baggies..wow. Looking forward to the Dagobah set, I have one with virtually EVERY part needed, it's a long process but I'll get there! Take care my friend! #FB
Hey Joey, my tip is to get the package delivered to your workplace as you are there during the day. Having it delivered to your home has bigger risks because some times some people will see your package and steal it.
No problem joey! I live in the uk and have bought a few items including the dagobah play set from the USA because it’s actually cheaper including shipping than buying in the uk!!
Right down the road from you in Redondo Beach and we had rain, rain, rain most of early January. Unfortunately, I was ordering a lot of cardboard and paper products around this time like Star Wars mini-catalogs, Dixie cup boxes, hard to find Vinyl Case paper inserts and instruction manuals. I got VERY lucky with a rare mini-catalog that was in a paper envelope just soaking up the rain. There was no protection inside and I just got lucky that it didn't soak all the way through. After the first close call I began proactively telling the sellers about the rain here and asked them to take extra precautions on the paper products. Everything worked out but it added a new dimension of caution that I need to ask for in the future and to be aware of myself when I ship items out as well.
Hey Birch! I’m glad that you were able to get that settled and your items came in safe! Oh man I would have been a nervous wreck lol. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment my friend!
I purchased one of the last 17 version sets with the figures and box in the early 90's when I was around 10 at a toy train show that my dad would always go to for $25. I still have it to this day. I still need to buy the branding iron for it to complete it.
Hey Nic! Wow that’s amazing that you still have it! Those are then gems 💎. You should be able to find a branding iron easy especially from collectors on some of the FB groups who do parts sales every once in a while :).
That set is fantastic! Nice find! I'm still missing that one. Kinda pricey nowadays. I may have to go for the box and base. Already got the figures. Gonna get that app, great info!
I'd suggest Land of the Jawas and Ice Planet Hoth for simple retro playsets. Both are cardboard, rather cheap but hit a nostalgia button. They call back to backdrops with simple play features.
I had a pit in my stomach, honestly, thinking that the entire package would be soaked all the way through. Not to get all serious on ya, but I definitely don't think a damaged package would be good TV. I would hate for this to get ruined, so I'm glad it arrived DRY and in great shape. On a lighter note, I'd love to have a bunch of these just as texture for a dank environment. It would make a great background. Love the Dagobah playset. All I'm missing is the cylindrical adapter for R2. Thanks for the video. :)
Thanks T! Yea I would have been very disappointed if it came soaked. I would have been so disappointed! Thanks for watching and for the vote of confidence my friend :).
I think I forgot about the variations between the 2 playsets (always assumed it was just different figures in them and never realized the color differences). I have the blue base one (I think, it's packed away, but with no figures). Very cool buy though. Makes me wish I was a little more into boxed SW collecting back in the day (no interest in starting now). As for the rain in SD, yeah bad timing there but glad it worked out (I work from home typically and dogs always notify me when there's delivery so nothing gets left outside; not a solution for everyone I know).
Hey Rob! Yea glad you can still enjoy these videos for the history of them even though you aren’t collecting the playsets! Glad you survived the great storm of ‘23 lol. Thanks for watching my friend
4:38 Ill be honest, most times I’m buying from Facebook I use friends and family for most purchases. Though I only buy from a close circle of people I trust. The same ones you’ve bought from IIRC
Hey Joe! Yes the circle I use to buy gets smaller every month. I’m trying to expand to more people, but they have to be vouched for by other collectors I know.
I thought this was a Sears exclusive, but it had a KB sticker? My wife used to manage a KB Toys, and they were known for buying excess toy lines from wherever they could. Maybe this is an example? The prices on these MIB sets blows me away, goid find!
Hey Mike! That is exactly what it was, it was an excess toy lot storage that Sears granted to kaybee for a run off sale. Thanks for watching my friend!
12:49 I don’t know EV-9D9 came with the leg reinforcement in the baggie. Kenner did a good job there. Too bad play time with that figure was notoriously problematic. Oh sorry for all the individual comments. It’s like I’m doing a running commentary 😂
Haha no worries Joe! Sometime I do thst with videos I watch so I understand haha! Yea the ev9d9 bag was the main reason I wanted them like this. I had seen them like that, and thought it was really interesting to see.
I think that if I did collect these, I wouldn't want to buy it in this condition, because I'd want to assemble it, but couldn't bring myself to open all the bags and stuff.
Congratulations on a great find 🙌 That's a perfect way to get it. You need to find all the bagged items in a loose form now so you can build it and have some fun 😂👌👍
