I’ve been using free cycle to give things away it’s so painless. Someone polite comes to your home and takes your clutter away and you feel like you’ve done something helpful. It’s worth seeing the collectors’ happy faces.
@@periwinkleblue6001 me three!!! 🙋🏽♀️ ... 🤦🏽♀️... I make a few small clearances, feel happy, then slide back into enjoying videos ABOUT clearing spaces instead of MAKING PROGRESS actually CLEARING... 🙄
That’s crazy. She said you have to “do it afraid” That’s really true. I’ve heard that said I’m different ways but the way she said that was so clear and to the point. Me being someone who worries a lot and is always afraid of something that touched me deep because I often put too many steps in front of tasks out of fear to make things right. And then I get no where. Just do it even afraid is so powerful. Very growth setting
Lol, me watching minimalist/decluttering/organization videos on UA-cam, and getting inspired, but still not tackling my clutter room. I feel called out. 😅
We spent a year in Australia and the joy of not being around our decades of stuff was mind blowing. I came home ready to declutter in a way I never have before.
You nailed the major reasons why I struggle with it. You articulated it differently than others and were more specific about the thought process THANK YOU!!! By doing so it was freeing and allowed me to donate it without feeling wasteful
I like hearing, “live the life you imagine”. My home is neat and tidy lots of stuff, but in its place), but my craftroom is overflowing and overwhelming. I go in to organize and I instead end up crafting. I am going to try and imagine the room I would like to craft and sew in and create it. Thank you for your encouragement.
Visualization is such a key to success! And if you love crafting, you don't have to declutter it. You may benefit from organization and getting rid of only what you know you won't use. Decluttering isn't about bringing it down to the bare bones, but maximizing the space so you can fully enjoy it-- and live the life you imagine! 🤗
You have such a great clear voice and it's easy to listen to you and understand. You go from one idea to another in such a good logical manner. I've job
I AM TRULY "WOWED" by this video! All of it is EXACTLY on the mark for me, and I'm sure many others! This is the most life changing 10 minutes I have ever spent trying to decipher my decades of clutter! I have downloaded it because when the feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, defeat, depression of why I'm paralyzed by my horrendous clutter, I'm going to play this out loud to motivate me as to why all of these reasons need to be eradicated! THANK YOU!!!
WOW ANNE! Thank you so much, these are amazingly kind words 🥰 Glad this video inspired you so much that you now have it right by your side ready to pull it out when you need it.
@@MiaDanielle FREE MASTERCLASS question. I followed the link to watch, and I wasn't able to get to the actual class. Is the link still good that I got in my email? Thanks!!
It is not about getting back the value (purchase price) of something but getting back the current going rate. Some items have become collectorable and trends case down as well as up. There is a lot of work in finding out what some is now worth and listing it for sale (pictures, checking it out, postage costs determined). It might be simipler to hand it over to a dealer and get a third of the selling value to a customer of an item than the hassle of selling direct.
Thanks for sharing. In regards to sentimental stuff. I heard of a great idea where people took sentimental clothing items and made a blanket out of them.
Great video Mia!! I am surrounded my clutter...like I would need 3 rooms for all the stuff in my one room. I am going to dive in and do it afraid as you suggest. I'm nervous, but excited. I have tried to declutter many times and find my self holding onto the items I purge of to sell and they dont sell. I think I will just donate to goodwill or something. I hope they are taking donations right now. Thanks again!!
Hey there! Thank you for diving deep in this topic & making this easier to explain! I'm working on a course that will help people understand their clutter & move past it. I'm incorporating a couple of your videos (and mentioning you by name-no worries) because it fits perfectly in with what i'm trying to explain! Let me know if you want to know more!
I am noticing that your videos are edited with way too much perfection but I think you need to keep some pauses when you are cutting out stuff. It sounds words running out of your mouth without any pause and after some time seems rambling even though there is so much value in what you are saying.
Poor people might be more afraid to let go of material possessions because they know if they need that item any time in the future the funds may not be there to replace it. Also makes the fear of wasting money more acute if u have less

I'm sitting here taking notes when Mia perfectly describes me, I am an information hoarder. This is the best video on clutter I have seen so far!
Glad it was helpful!
Same here😂

I've heard others discuss the reasons we hold on to things, but they never categorized them as fear based. Great point. 👍
I'm happy to offer a new perspective then :)

This is all so true, I feel like when I'm stressed my home is a reflection of that. Definitely going to take some time this weekend to declutter! :)
The Breanna Edit Love it! Happy decluttering :)
Learned from my parents to save everything and now I’m cleaning it up! Ahhh!
Haha lesson learned!

What a wonderful video. I just got a job where I am helping someone organize and declutter their home, and this was so helpful!

I've heard of that too! I even saw one woman made a teddy bear from her deceased husband's clothes ❤️
I found this video by searching for “clutter in stasis”, a term I heard for the first time a few minutes ago (on How to ADHD)
Interesting- not something I've heard of just yet

Oh, it’s attention deficit disorder.
adhd people easily distracted. They (we) accumulate clutter more than most people.

Excellent information very well presented. Many thanks from UK.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I wonder if there is a specific personality/psychological profile that tends to clutter vs. all out “hoarding”?
a lot of what you spoke of, is what happens in Hoarders but to the 10th degree
❤❤❤
if i can't find a thing, I purchase another one :( I have so much stuff and it's not junk, but I don't know wht to do w it!

Lol! That's too funny but I totally get it.

O-oh I’ve got a near empty bottle of Chanel No5 that my Daddy gave me over 35 years ago 😳
Throw it out, people!
I've been watching your videos for months and my house still isn't decluttered. 😐

do poor people clutter more
That's a good question and I've found that clutter is an equal opportunity issue! Wealthy people may have more room to store their clutter though.
Poor people might be more afraid to let go of material possessions because they know if they need that item any time in the future the funds may not be there to replace it. Also makes the fear of wasting money more acute if u have less
@@kelly-ux8zy define poor. I doubt think I'm poor, but I still have too much stuff, even tiny little things I will never need again.
I don't, not doubt.
