    Mining on this site goes back to the 16 century, so lotta history there!
    South crofty mine
    bought the wheal busy engine, than found it to be very corroded,
    so they bought the engine in hawke’s enginehouse as the condenser was is good order to re use.
    Pumping engines worked on average of 5 to 6 stokes a minute.
    The cataract timing the stroke, a cataract works on the same principle as a water clock, the faster water is displaced from a vessel the more times it is triggered.
    It’s not every ghost hunt you get a nice bench to sit at mate👍
