- “The power to move worlds will soon be yours”, Is what Savathun told us at her Altar a year ago. What happens in the Root Of Nightmares Raid? We literally move planets inside the Witness’ Pyramid Ship. Today we discuss the importance of this room and the Macrocosm encounter, revisit 2 truths 2 lies and discuss Savathun’s importance in all of this.

My mind was blown the first time I saw that room in the raid, it's awesome. And I think that Torobatl, Fundament and perhaps Riis are among those strange looking planets

And being apparently also rejected by both, I wouldnt really call that being chosen by the light, but who knows?

he wasnt chosen he was accidentally imbued with light from the travelers beam. the hive originally stole light in the savathun's song strike, but only later got chosen. light can be stolen but also given.
@@keo4264The Hive never stole a thing, you cannot steal the light, you can only take it but it's utterly useless that way other than for tribute. You have to be careful with words, light can only be gifted, just like life itself. When you take, it literally leads to death. In WQ they even talked about it when you first got to Savathun's ship, assuming a Guardian was there before you and then seeing Hive using light, they changed from stealing the light to the Traveller giving Savathun the light. All other attempts to steal light were fruitless, as you cannot steal what the creator didn't give to you. It's also the reason why can use both light and dark, they are the same part but opposite each other and are part of the fabric of the rules that govern the universe. When all light is gone, darkness ceases to be useful and then the cycle starts up again. If you go back to the origins that led to Destiny, you'll realize this has happened innumerable times before they decided to enter the game itself to enact a different outcome.
I believe that savathun will be back . I think she always had good intentions for the traveler and herself that's why she tried making her own army of guardians she tried to copy our system but with her own twist . Also i believe that she knew she was going to be resurrected by the traveler that's why she used crow as a gini pig to see how the vanguard would react with someone who killed cayde then chosen by the traveler to be among them and at the end see if she was chosen by traveler would the vanguard allow her to fight along with them. She probably though we weren't fit for the task and toke things in her own hands at the end ...if she does come back i want to see her resurrect her brother oryx and extract his worm and show him the truth and fight along with us at the end of this battle that be awesome to see..

It felt obvious that Savathun would return from the moment her Ghost, Immaru, escaped at the end of Witch Queen.
I don`t thing she lead Uldren to his death on purpes. That`s to far fetched in my opinion. I think she wanted to weaken the dreaming city and the last city to make her throneworld the only optional escape for the traveller.
We already have Fallen Allies, and Cabal allies. Now we just need Hive allies.
Well with titan returning next season, i think this raid room has the explaination on how it returns

WAIT WAIT WAIT IS THAT FUNDAMENT? All the planets and moons can be seen in sol system except for a few planets. There’s a planet seen with consumed darkness energy. It’s exactly like how the books of sorrow described it. One of the red planets with an orange hue could be torobatl (cabal planet) …. If our destiny lies beyond the stars maybe our battle with xivu arath is in the cabal homeworld???? Savathun was right the whole fricking time lol lol
Also why is our moon surrounded by a light barrier??? It fades in and out every angle we look at it but the other planets looks normal???

I wouldn't get your Hope's up like that. Bungir has probably already forgotten this. I sure as hell wouldn't expect them to deliver something as awesome as what you're suggesting. Maybe after the final shape and whatever new thing they make.
It's becoming very likely that our ability to hop "dimensions" will be developed for beyond Lightfall. Maybe this could be the 3rd Darkness subclass. Mara Sov this week tells us that when we hop into the ascendant plane and ley lines our paracausal powers allows us to traverse the universe very much like hyperspace or the warp so we can use this to basically go...anywhere (as we did with the pyramids and ship in orbit). If we develop that further we could possibly weaponize that ability and banish foes to this alternate reality, or rescue things from it, the way we did the Techeuns already. This is possibliy how we pull our planets out of that and back to real space maybe in time we might even learn to control Taken or make some of our own but for now I think this is how we'll be able to go beyond the Sol system.

@@TheCrimsonCake Isn't strand the opposite of void? You know, gravity pulls and drags everything down for void, and suspensions with gravity defying moves such as grapple with strand.
@@Le_Canker Not only that, Void means a complete emptiness while Strand means a connection, network between people's mind.
Savathun will come back - While Mercury, Io and Titan are not in her care, she can still use the power to move worlds as we've seen with the Traveller at the end of WQ. Season of the deep might see Savathun resurrected to restore Titan and we venture into its depths to find the Leviathan monster under its waves. Possible that the Time Fractures will have pieces of Oryx to but not to rise him, but to steal his any remaining knowledge.
The Taken King will rise again is false - bungie said that the raids are isolated and take place at the time of their narrative relevance.
I will want Savathun to return like as we revive her the first thing she tells us “I warned you”

I always had a thought that what if Savathuns "2 Lies 2 Truths" stuff, and actually means that she is inherently lying about 2 of her quotes being Lies in the first place making her tell 4 Truths, and the 2 Lies are simply her saying they are Lies.
Personally I think "The Taken King will rise again" is true because of some D1 lore referencing the Touch of Malice, According to the Books of Sorrow, Oryx intended for the weapon to be built, and since it was, he was able to maintain his immortality, continuing to feed off the victims of the weapon. I interpreted this as The Taken King will resurrect himself using the life force of the owner of the Touch of Malice, As we did use his heart to build it
I think it was a tease that King’s Fall would return to D2, but I think you might be right too.

@@BriskLikeTea now I am thinking of final shape where drifter will gain the ability to summon taken enemies to our aid in the missions but probably will be used for gambit
The Taken King is a Title. Wouldn't have to be Oryx. The Sword Logic could lead to the next Taken King. Could be us? Could be Xivu Arath?
There are more interpretations than that though:
Kings Fall returned, but as a reprised raid, not as part of the story.
Taken King is a title, Alak Hul for example was a contender, it's possible another will rise.
Then Oryx actually returning.
The portal in the traveler looks familiar to some of the walls in savathun throne world. It’s where I’m starting to investigate and look for clues
I feel like Io, Titan, and Mercury may actually be in Savathun’s care since they are most likely meant to be the 3 planets in the middle of the encounter that can’t be moved. This inability to move them may mean that they are unable to be moved in that room, which means that the Witness likely can’t move them either. Perhaps these planets will return in future seasons after we most likely revive Savathun for some reason. Next season being called season of the deep and the exotic glaive lore may indicate that Titan may return very soon. Also in the new raid, Nezerac’s dialogue seems to mean that Osiris has a curse due to him drinking the tea. This leads to the perfect reason for resurrecting Savathun.
As cross calls her, savathick will return and the lucid hive will become allies
Not entirely. Some Lucents go, and are now independent since the beginning of Witch Queen. We'll get the savathussy but only maybe some of her entourage.
It's okay though, so many of our biggest foes HATE her. She took down two Disciples without Light. I think we're good.

I joined destiny 2 in 2020 when we had the dawning an I absolutely fell in love with the lore
I just realized how tall the witness is. I thought he was near our size but actually he's a little over double
My guess is he's about 12 to 14 ft tall.
No one seems to be our size (guardians/humans in tower) except for the war hounds, lol.

One thing I don't see anyone talking about is the fact that the power to move worlds was told to Oryx by the Darkness itself, and the Darkness didn't just tell Oryx the power to move worlds, but all the secrets of the powers of the Witness were told to Oryx by the Darkness itself, and he wrote these secrets on the Tablets of Ruin that we destroyed in King's Fall, and this is said by Savathun herself in WQ in a dialogue and apparently everyone ignored it.
Savathun learns the power to move worlds from a piece of the Tablets of Ruin she stole from Oryx, and uses this to move the Traveler to her throne world, she also learns the secret of controlling the taken on that tablet. Oryx had with him ALL the secrets of the Witness powers, and we destroyed them all when we killed Golgoroth and destroyed the Tablets of Ruin, with the only remaining piece being the one stolen by Savathun.
That music for the macrocosm room you used is dope. I'm curious why Neptune was in that room, the witness didn't take that planet. Also in the new lore book from the raid i feel like entry 3 is oryx. So the taken king rising again might be true imo

I could see them reintroducing each of these planets over the 3 seasons until final shape, though it sounds like a big task, but it would be real cool if they so it.
I love when bungie makes story missions that use the raid environments. Would it be cool if at the end of lightfall or even this season we use that space to rearrange planets and use that to our benefit
Its also important to note that Savathun has a history of breaking the 4th wall. So the taken king rising again could literally just be referencing Kings Fall returning as a raid. The power to move worlds could also be true simply as a gameplay mechanic. Savathun's 2 truths and 2 lies are very puzzling because the context is ambiguous since she's broken the 4th wall several times in the lore

Or breaking the 4th wall is literal too. The Witness actually breaks a kind of wall. If we’re in some kind of flower game, and she’s aware of the game, it’s literal.
It’ll be interesting to see if this is expanded on or if it’s just a fancy war room simulation

i like to think of it as a Ying Yang situation, the traveller is the white fish with a black eye (the veil) and the pyramids are the black fish with the white eye (maybe theres a darkness version of the veil(not the black heart i mean) that the witness dosnt know about) we find it and use it like the witness did with the veil and the traveller..

season 21 is named season of the deep that screams titan and for those old timers we remember the huge worm like creature we saw swimming in the methane ocean. i think/hope they will use the raid planet area for a mission where we bring titan back that would be sick.
Savathuns word has held up in the past *the last city is not the last city* (Neptune), *The Taken King will rise again* (a hint to kings fall returning) and many more
Aside from the four we know, some new- and likely aliens planets coming to Destiny, maybe? The loading screen could get alot bigger.

I’ve waited since D1 for answers and more story. Having to wait weekly sucks so much and has ground me down. Not even bought lightfall and I doubt I will while it’s still live service

If I were bungie and I were going to be clever… I would have a modified copy of the raid be a weekly mission that would allow us to change which planets were going to be available! Like one week it’s the moon, mars and Io and then the next week it be titan, nessus, and mercury. But we have to complete certain tasks to get certain planets

Idk I just think it would be an epic plot twist if a resurrected Savathun and Oryx become part of the alliance against the witness. Perhaps later down the line there is a story development with strand that allows us to bring back our lost worlds.

We knew this since the questions dropped. The way bungie had already said they wanted to rotate planets in and out. It's obvious they want to make the player feel like "they" do it.

hey did anyone else notice theres a lot of free space on the destinations map? specially on the right side. theres 3 seasons left this year and 3 vaulted worlds. i think it would be so awesome if the light v darkness saga ended with all the destinations available to play
I hope they bring back titan and we get a cutscene of what Sloan has been doing. Especially if its her being a bad ass kicking ass. Hopefully she's still alive at least lol.
The vanguard is so unable to do anything but react to fires like they can't think far enough ahead we will have to get savathics help or perish 😊
it would be cool if in a future mission we go back here and we have to move the planets back into our system todo certain things

Wait... Nezarec wasn't so much chosen, but resurrected by the Light... so he was the last to be "chosen" by the light to a degree, but not with a ghost.
i think we're going to get a preservation type mission like vow did and that is going to be the mission where we get that handcannon bungie was talking about with a special dlc related mission in which we go to this room and free titan and each passing season we might get io or mercury back thats why we got mars back early because we're getting the plants back a season at a time after the first season wraps up, and maybe even why final shape was delayed to begin with was so that bungie can put more time in to bringing back our vaulted content and then going all out on new things for final shape instead?
That mean we will get all destiny 1 content soon. That would be great

I'm sure by the end someone maybe Eris would of had her time to investigate and find a way to start returning planets but focusing a lot of power so Maybe Mara Sov could return us Titan at the end of this season then have another powerful source of energy to return one of the next planets like say Immaru or Savathun it ain't Titan without the Hive soooo I feel it would make sense but I could be wrong since there so much new story and lore out i been thinking lots of possibilities and I love it

To me the power to move worlds will mean we can literally choose what planets will be in our solar system. Since other games give us the ability to download campaign’s or multiplayer this would be a genius solution to the vaulting problem.

I wanna know what planets/moons are displayed in the room, apart from Mars, Io, Titan, Mercury, and the dark blue one looks like Neptune. The fluctuating white one looks like the Traveler but could be Europa, then there's the fire thing that isn't the sun.
I think the enemy of the Witness on Titan could be Savethun, either her or Oryx, and we could afterwards learn how to control the taken

I hope savathun comes back, like we should fight with the lucent hive, they deadass have not been used period for almost what, 10 months? I really hope to see more of them, hopefully tormentors will not fall to the same fate

The Taken King will rise again could be referring to The Witness using the taken now. The other two could be misconstrued truths. The 3 planets are with The Witness, and Savathun is the one that brought back Mars.
What if the filler dlc we are getting is us getting back out lost planets to find a end to the witness, we are rumored to be going back to titan next season

Io, Titan, and Mercury are the planets in the middle of the encounter, above the damage plates.
Im thinking the last darkness subclass, if we get one, will have something to do with gravity. Going with the idea with what the witch queen said then it would make sense, since gravity is what literally causes planets to move around.
I noticed that that the subclasses all start with the letters "s" and "t"...Stasis and Strand. What ever the last one is it's most likely going to be a "s" and "t" word.
what if the power to move worlds will now allow us to redownload planets on command like how you cna manag which halo campaigns and multiplayers are installed in Halo MCC. Which means they could bring back old content and allow us to revisit old forms or their interpretation of the current state of the returning worlds but are optional files with optional content.
Remember the presentation? I think they are foreshadowing big things here.
The Witch Queen - Lightfall - The Final Shape - … And Beyond…
“AND” Beyond. “BEYOND” the Sol System.
I think this is a clear foreshadowing that we indeed are going interstellar after The Final Shape. Discover Unkown Planets, hell maybe even go to Fundament or Torobatl at some point. Idk at this point it’s pure speculation, but It would be hella awesome if it was the case.
I really don’t think they put random planets in that room for aesthetic purposes, rather to give a glance of the planets we could potentially going to explore
I believe Fundament and Torabatl are planets within the Milky Way Galaxy just in a different or distant quadrant.
Our galaxy has loads of planets both known and unknown that need to be discovered.
Not sure if this relates or mean anything, but in one of the WQ cutscenes, we hear the witness tell savathun, “In the sky is only death, salvation lies in the deep” and next season is called season of the deep.
Pretty sure the "deep" is just another way of naming the darkness, or, well, maybe the Sword Logic specifically? Not the darkness as the tools, but it as the ideology that the Witness has. Just as the Sky being the way of the Traveler

The Traveler is not the only one of it's kind.
That right there can mean 2 things. We assumed it ment that there are other Travelers and that is one. The second and more than likely is that Savathun ment that the Traveler is not the only PARACASAUL ENTITY/THING out there. Aka she ment the Veil.
Might be a stretch but maybe in the end we discover another Traveler from another system and that’s where the future of Destiny will take place after the Final Shape.

the traveler hasnt really fallen though. we still have our light, and other than the portal the traveler seems to be relatively unaffected
We might be moving planets if there they same missing ones every time but I don’t think they are
the enemy of the witness is on titan if it still lives- is it talking about a leviathan, worm or something else (i forgot what weapon is it on)...
Wonder what we'll be getting in Destiny after the Light and Darkness saga ends.
Remember, Oryx summoned Xivu back with war, is it so out of the question Xivu could summon Oryx back with death?
Or.... Savathun learning the art of necromancy from Nokris. And now that she's no longer beholden to the sword logic (necromancy was considering heresy by the Hive), she could very well bring the Taken King back to life
If this is the Witness’ ship, why did he need Cabal to man the ship for the raid? Was the ship empty before shadow Legion forces boarded it to protect the path to Nezarec? If so, that brings to question what the other ships are full of. Or are they all empty too? And has the witness abandoned the Scorn? If so Fikrul and Eramis could be surprised allies next year.
Here's the thing, maybe the traveler didn't make the ghosts. Maybe the witness made us to be agents. If that's the case, you could put surveillance on to the possibilities for a ghost. For instance maybe savathun lied because she knew there was a chance at a third party listening in. She wasn't lying, so we wouldn't get it. She was more likely lying to keep the witness baffled.

@Duke Dook thanks Duke I'll check it out, and I'm regretting the part in my theory where I said maybe the witness made the ghosts. I should have said that maybe the witness always had the ability to tap into and monitor our ghosts.

If we have this power we could hide the witness and traveler away forever and then the witness can no longer spread darkness
It probably wont happen but how amazing would it be if all the sunset areas returned before final shape? (would be the first crucible W in a while considering there'd probably be some returning maps too)
Getting Mercury, Titan, and Io, back would also be a win for Strike variety
