I'm a new-found Haken fan, having seen your performance in Atlanta on June 7th. I've been a Symphony-X fan for many years, but once I looked into Haken's music, I was most excited about seeing your setlist. Prosthetic is such a killer opening tune for the concert. It was truly a pleasure to have discovered your music and privilege to have seen you live!
Ross is such a humble guy. But I can tell he doesn't realize how talented and versitile he really is. Very much looking forward to Doug's reaction to Ross' song from his new album tomorrow. From a composition stand point I would love to get Richard and Doug in the same room. Richard Henshall if you are reading this....
Thank you, Mr. Helvering for this great interview. Over the past several months, I too have been on this journey with you through the prog universe! With your help, my music play list has been fortified with new, and old wonderful music by the likes of Spock’s Beard, Haken, and also Ross Jennings! I grew up with Rush, Yes, The Beatles, Floyd, Tull, etc etc being my soundtrack. You have not only helped justify my tastes in music, but also given me new ideas to broaden my experience. Which, to me, is priceless. Thank you.
Long time Haken fan here. They have been one of my absolute favorite bands for the past decade. I have to say though....Ross' new solo album blew me away. I love the diversity of it. That 80's vibe just adds to the nostalgia as I grew up and fell in love with music during that time. Thanks for all of the great music Ross. Can't wait to see what's next.
Ross's guest singing on new upcoming Arjen Lucassen's Star One is stellar! The song is called Prescient and the vocal duet with Mike Mills is unbelievable!
Fan-bloody-tastic Doug. Good stuff, and good for you, Ross! I had a chat with Ray Hearne a couple of weeks ago on my channel. You Haken guys are the best. 👍🏼😁🇬🇧🌧
My wife and I drove from Houston to San Antonio to see Haken with Thank You Scientist in 2016. After the show we were hanging out and saw Ross talking with some folks near the stage. We walked over and were each greeted by a big hug. Super nice guy, he was real lovely to chat with even after the show (which rocked btw)
I really enjoyed your Reaction on "March of the black Queen" from the album Queen II. I think you'd like the rest of the B-side (or black side) which includes "Ogre Battle "The fairy fellers masterstroke" and "nevermore". These songs lead up to the March of the black Quren and are connected. And of course there is the single "Seven seas of rhye" which helped Queen to become so popular.
I've been a fan of Haken since their first album was released in the States. Unfortunately I had to wait some time before they toured in the US and I was able to see them (twice so far), and they were phenomenal live. Keep up the good work Ross and Doug.
I'm just here hoping Doug will get around to making a video on the extremely underrated band Hanoi Rocks! I would love it if he listened/reacted to the songs "Tragedy" and "Oriental Beat"!
Ross was a really great to chat with. Doug, you're not alone in not knowing a bunch of great bands that have been around for while but we just don't hear about them in America. Seems like maybe algorithms and lack of promotion keep a lot of European bands off the radar.
Brains and soul... Haken is awesome :) What a great chap, oh ... And doug he also appears in Arjens upcoming Star One album... Theres a video out and its him and none other than Michael Mills... You know, at some point, you may end up having to react to it hehe Cheers all
Nice conversation! Will the extended listen of The Mountain find its way to UA-cam eventually? And as some other people are mentioning...by all means...DO follow up that suggestion of bringing on Richard, Charlie and Ray! That would be really awesome!
Thank you! The Mountain extended play is available on my Patreon (see Patreon link in the About section of my UA-cam channel). I hope to talk with Richard, Charlie, and Ray soon!
It's not me that's doing it. I wish you could see it on YT. It's currently blocked and the block is beyond my control. Check the directory for an alternate link. The video is posted and available for viewing via my vimeo site.
Trust me. It's not on Doug's end. UA-cam copyright bots blocked his videos, but he is disputing them. You can watch the video on his Vimeo account. Check the Daily Doug Directory for a link.
Was a pleasure to chat with you Doug! Apologies again for the DodgyCam! TM 😂🙏
Ejoyed all the projects you are a part of and really looking forward to seeing you guys in June with SX. :fingerscrossed: Good Luck!
Thanks again for talking with me, Ross! Wishing you all the best in the new year, hope to talk with you again soon.
New fan of your music Ross, congrats on all of your cool music projects, wishing you all the success in 2022- Happy New Year!
I mean Ross, what's next, a collab with Devin Townsend and David Maxim Micic? I can only dream about it!

And that's what music and the community is all about. I've discovered bands I missed out on being born in the mid 80s.

Great interview Doug, keep them coming, you really bring the best of people.
Ross is an amazing guy! I met him on the cruise and was fortunate to hang with him for a bit before a show in the Star Lounge.
My favourite male singer right there!
Great talk! Thanks!
What a treat, Doug, and Ross is so gracious! Thanks for this time!
Looking forward to getting the new album. Haken, Spock's Beard, and Big Big Train collaboration...does it get any better.
Great interview…. Insightful and prepared
Love Ross' solo album, really fantastic music!!!!

This is awesome! Ross is the best! Very humble and an incredible musician!
Love Haken's Virus album. The music is astounding!
Haken is my favorite band and Ross is an amazing vocalist!
Such a genuine and down-to-earth guy. Nice interview.
He is SUCH a graceful dude! I hope to meet the band one day when they are able to tour the US again. Also, pleeeaase do the entire Messiah Complex!

This is amazing
Huge fun! 😎👍
Ross is into Squarepusher and Aphex Twin?!
How cool is that?! 😲
I got to see The War on Drugs here in Vegas a few years ago. Fun show. 😎👍
Late 2019 Haken was on tour with Devin Townsend. So Nate Navarro showed Ross and everybody attending every evening what an amazing bass player be is.
Ross is great! I love him in Novena especially. Such a great band aswell, him and Pipi work amazing together as vocalists
Doug, I'll keep my eye out for you at a Haken/Symphony X near Jersey!
Thank you friend!
I'm just here hoping Doug will get around to making a video on the extremely underrated band Hanoi Rocks!
I would love it if he listened/reacted to the songs "Tragedy" and "Oriental Beat"!
A bit lengthy, but I'm in Ross's debt. Too, congrats on the rug rat. He's braver than I. Thanx Doug.
Nice!

How come you get to have interviews with those amazing fellows?
They are nice and generous enough to give their time to talk with me.
Nice conversation! Will the extended listen of The Mountain find its way to UA-cam eventually? And as some other people are mentioning...by all means...DO follow up that suggestion of bringing on Richard, Charlie and Ray! That would be really awesome!

Hey Doug. Why are you blocking the Iron Maiden videos in Brazil? :(
They're the reason I came to know and love your channel.
It's not me that's doing it. I wish you could see it on YT. It's currently blocked and the block is beyond my control. Check the directory for an alternate link. The video is posted and available for viewing via my vimeo site.

@@Doug.Helvering I see. Thank you for clarifying it.
Hey Doug, you will definitely have something to say about this, in case you havent done it before: Chris Rea Somewhere between the stars.
Good lord, I hope you do a video on their newest song "The Alphabet of Me"
Waiting for the other band members
With a new album coming out early next year....maybe.
I know everyone thinks the U.K. is foggy but this is ridiculous! What a nice guy!
please, please, please!!!!!! do a Perfect Circle "Judith" video, from México, thanks alot for ur knowledgement (if is a word) hehehe!! Greetings!!!
Off topic, I'd like to see you react to Adrian Legg.
nice conversation but why is Ross using a potato as a webcam :D
apparently he just got a new laptop and was not completely finished with his new set up.
I thought it was the British weather
if potatoes were that good, I'd also use one
I had a tech meltdown that day so had to use a dodgy old laptop for the call... 😤🤬 The British Weather probably didn't help!...
@@RossJenningsOfficial holy shit Ross Jennings replied to me. My life is complete.
it's such a sad state of our society that such an amazing band needs side work to pay the bills..
Is Ross in a fog bank?
