Hi Wade, so how would you say the boat would do in bigger water, not drops and creeks, simply just 1800cfs to 2200 cfs wider river with holes and waves? The second question would be: how did you find it to roll? Is it that hard or not? Thanks, mate!
I like the ripper 2 Large over the steeze all day but to answer your questions steeze feels right at home on anything with good flow and rolling I think it’s pretty good
Thanks Wade! Yeah I appreciate those detailed thoughts and inputs given that I have seen more of your videos and even other guys running rivers with the steeze. Quite frankly I was suprised how it performed and I can see that despite the stern, it does seem harder to squirt. But I can see that it does manage to carry its speed and simultaneously one can change directions with ease. I am just kinda thinking my way through between that one, the Stout, or perhaps wait for the Stoke (all for the same purpose: kinda big water but not the steep gradient type). I do have the M scorch in mind (I am 5´7 and going to 157 lbs) but a friend of mine in Chile who is taller and heavier, said that he paddled the L Scorch and found it to be rather heavy and he ended up selling it. Yet seeing other shorter people like me handling the M scorch kinda tells me something different man! Awesome videos man! @@WadeHarrison
Thanks for all the work you do on these awesome reviews! I have maybe an odd question for you. I was paddling a Mamba and became very comfortable in it. Borrowed an Axiom and really loved the sporty feel of it compared to my Mamba. Couldn't find a used one so bought a Rewind. Loved the river running side of it but not really into the playful tail. Bought a Scorch and love that for river running and higher volume water but still miss the feel of the Rewind. Finally my question is, how do you think this boat compares to an Axiom? Thank you in advance!!!
Rewind is so much better for everything from creeks to big water to mank it’s the everything boat and sized very well the axiom was good big water but lake of bow rocker hurt this for a good everything kayak
Gotta respect your reviews as you give your opinion (both good, indifferent and bad) no matter what the brand of boat. They do a great job at explaining what a paddler can expect from the boat and don’t whitewash anything like a magazine article might do. Thanks and please keep them coming. Cheers...
really sick concept of a boat! makes me think of the non-party braaap, or being in a half-slice that’s too big for you. I’m curious as to if anyone has tried to squash the stern of this boat. Not that it’s a bad design that needs changing, but I think it’d be interesting to see how it would perform as one of the more playful half-slices
I have not paddled the reg Brappp but probably a good comparison And really i would not alter this boat at all I would leave it exactly as it is because its that good
yeah thats what I’m thinking. It seems like such a good boat already that changing it wouldn’t be smart, but it would be cool if the offered something like the braaap/party braaap, as opposed to the current braaap/braaap+ situation
I am looking for Kind of half Slice/Riverrunner at 115 to 120kgs dry weight. Do you think it will be more playful then or should i look for a large Ripper? Not Paddling Above 3/3+
Well? The problem with the boat it’s large but it fits smaller paddlers very well I’m no where close to your size and the boat feels kinda tight on me around the thigh hooks and seat. So I’m going to say weight you would be fine but it will be very uncomfortable sitting in it. Your way better off Checking out the large ripper or rewind antix I think you will be better off with one of those
@@GraveWarrioR If you are keen on seatcomfort Than don't go for the ripper :O I'm 100kg and just had some hours in the large ripper... It definitley needs much Training as it is verry narrow. But the seat position felt really awkward
@@AB-uk4pd My way was like this: Had a Pyranha Karnali for some years, learned WW-Basics and Rolling in it. But i always felt ist wasn't good to correct, get around narrow corners. Got a Jackson Superhero and thought: "Hey, i can roll better and sit longer comfortable in that Mini Riverrunner than in my big boat, somethings going wrong here". So i sold the Karnali and as i liked the older Superfun i got a JK Superhero (Older Model). I Sit really comfortable in it, even for long times, but for me it's just not fun enough on easier levels and to slow/hard to ferry to really play out a WW 2-3. So now i am looking for one of the half slices, as i think i'll never go beyond Class 3+. Most of my Paddling is between 2+ and 3. As i am so heavy and unsporty, i use the Superfun also just as a fun mini Riverrunner and for Tailies. So maybe if a Halfslice fits me really well i may sell both boats. So any other suggestions?
@@GraveWarrioR Hmm, i just paddled the Axiom 9.0 and the ripper L (but not the rewind, the steeze or rexy) But i think all of These boats are way more forgiving Than the ripper. Unsporty and ripper doesnt fit well. But maybe someone who paddled All of these slicy boats can say more
Hahah yeah I actually had 10 chickens at one point One dies and gave the others away just keeping the 3 I have now I do clip the wings and have fence in yard so they just wonder around aimlessly all day eating bugs and when I’m out there they stay right up under my feet funny-but kinda annoying at times
@@WadeHarrison Now Waka it's only one available for me, I need to decade puffy or usual one. My first WW kayak, have some background on slalom, what do you think
Yes 70kg and up is perfect for this design I know a lot of paddlers at that weight range that use this boat and it’s a beast at bigger flow stuff And at you size another option is the GOAT ua-cam.com/video/p20PnCsfXTc/v-deo.html

@@malteherweg9125 no I did not this was just the regular version but I think the puffy would be a better option personally the steeze doesn’t play off the tail much anyway

Would you place it in the same category as the new sport creekers? (The big 4: Indra, Ninja, ReactR, SkipR)
Not really this is still more of a river running half slice in my opinion I can completely vert stern stall it easily
