Yugioh GX is to me what the original series was to a lot of OG fans. I was so hyped coming home from school every day to watch the latest episode in the Sacred Beasts arc in season 1.
I watched the original and collected the cards. I was so young. I even watched gx I was in like the 6th grade I believe. I have my elemental hero shining phoenix enforcer on my wall now haha. It’s the last of 2 cards I have from my deck:(

I just realized if Yugi is only a couple of years older than Jaden and Yugi was born in 1980 it would make sense during their world time that it is a peak X gen world

True fact about me i owe my entire love for yugioh as a fan of the anime all the way from season 0-yugioh sevens (and current/future anime entries), the toei yugioh cards,the yugioh OCG/TCG, video games,manga,and toys is all Thank to Kazuki Takahashi and Yugioh GX.
The original Yugioh was only meh for me when I was younger, it's good now, tastes change, heck I loved the dragon arc... and I can't stand it now, still love Timaeus as a card though, and I like the rest of the series a lot more. GX though, loved it then, love it now, opening always has and always will pump me up.
It’s songs like this that make me glad that 4Kids existed. Sure they censored a lot of things, but if there’s 1 thing 4Kids got right (besides the stellar voice cast, yes I love the 4Kids voice cast, especially Jason Griffith, Dan Green and Mike Pollock), it’s the awesome theme songs they gave some of the shows, such as the Iconic Pokemon theme, the Sonic X theme “Gotta Go Fast” and this song, “Get Your Game On”. All of these songs are excellent (especially the Pokemon theme, since that song is practically the National Anthem for the Pokemon Fanbase).
Yeah that's not true especially nowadays with all the benefits of Neos Fusion Neos Kulger and Rainbow Neos and the broken cards like Shadow mist absolute Zero and Dark Law.
Duel links has a card called "Next" If your lp is lower tham your opponents u can summon an elemental hero or Kuriboh with equal atk or less than the diff between you and yout opponents lp. Literally evrytime i use this card i hear this theme playing in my head. Id omagin Jaden abt to lose lp at 100, thenn "N-Not so fast.. i.. i activate my quick play spell, NEXT. LETS GO, ELEMENTAL HERO NEOS!"
I think I was still in Middle School when this series came out in English. I loved Jaden in it, his personality was hilarious To bad we didn't get the FULL character arc for him Damn 4kids wanting to get to 5D's so soon They freaking dubbed Bonds Beyond Time, yet they didn't have an explanation for why Jaden had Yubel in his soul or why his dorm supervisor was a ghost now Jaden had character development but the Dub skipped it all for the sake of the next series to dub
What are you on about? Jaden fused himself with Yubel with Super Polymerization and Banner was dying and became a Shadow Rider, gave his soul to give Jaden the Philosopher’s Stone card, then was eaten by Pharoh. All of that was in the Dub.

I grew up on the original and then gex came out. Always found gx way better, also helps that it's my fav dub theme in all anime

I got mixed opinions on GX, but one thing is certain, the 4kids theme song is such a banger!
