- Winter time in the Pacific Northwest traditionally brings constant rain, with a hope to escape that forecast I headed towards central Washington just outside of Vantage for a change in scenery and drier weather. This area is simply incredible with the unique landscape while offering plenty of hiking, rock climbing, and dispersed camping opportunities. Join me for another weekend adventure out on the trails!

Vantage certainly offers some unique views for the Pacific Northwest! For those that live in Washington State, what's your favorite area in the central region to explore?
I think you should do Collockum Pass & Umtanum Ridge, they're both very different and would make interesting vids.
I going to put this out there We will all under stand that you will drop the next video as you have time we all have to work and find time to play and get out there and see Washingtion putting out good content videos take Time. Nice job on this one

I used to go up around Easton , Roslyn along time ago like 10 years really realize how time goes so fast when you get busy at work any other projects then you find your self not out exploring the woods like you did in your pass
It’s certainly an easy situation to slip into and not even realize. Just have to mark the calendar and commit to trips, even if they are short weekend getaways.

My wife always asks "Should I bring my jacket?"; I always answer "Where do we live?". Always put on your fly in the PNW.
That was a phenomenal trip for that weekend, it absolutely poured in November and particularly that weekend. I'm putting Vantage on my November trip list.
Ever since you went there with your family it has been on my ToDo list and I always say to my buddies when we're by Colockum, if we finish early, let's pop over to Vantage to look at those spots - still on my ToDo.
Haha, yes the jacket should always be a must when living in the PNW! I usually have one on standby at all times. Bump this place up a couple notches on the to-do list, would be incredible opportunity for some winter camping if you do go out!
@@ConquestOverland Yeah, I sent it to my buddies to put on our 2022 November trip list. Might add Douglas Ck after seeing how nice it was when it was so snowy over on the West side.
Really enjoy your video approach. Nice long natural sound segments and calm relaxing music when you have it. You certainly filmed some rich colors in that environment. I thought the undercarriage shots were fun too. Keep up the good work.

Love your videos man. I grew up in Western Washington and my favorite areas to visit are the Methow Valley (Twisp/Winthrop), Lake Chelan or Leavenworth. I just moved to South Carolina so watching your content brings back some wonderful nastalgia I appreciate it 🤘🏻

@@ConquestOverland Your welcome! I forgot to mention another area that I absolutely treasure and that’s the north central Cascade Mountains, specifically around Diablo Lake. The scenery up there is absolutely breathtaking! (The pass is closed during the winters due to avanlanches though so keep that in mind)

I'm a Washington native myself. The views in your video made me want to go out there right now and see these sights again. I would love to meetup with you and do an overland adventure with you. i saw at the beginning of the video you passed a sign that read algona pacific i live in the same general area and would love to meetup with you and do a camping trip
I thought that area looked really familiar. Our last trip out there to the main "attraction" I wanted to explore the dirt road but there was a bunch of people hiking down the road so figured it would be better to go back another time when there was less foot traffic
It's a fun area to check out for sure, all of central WA seems to have some hidden gems and great trails to explore!
Great stuff! You literally drove past my Mom's block at the beginning on your way to hwy 512 (I'm up on South Hill). I go every year a couple time to the Banks Lake Reservoir and Potholes Reservoir areas for great fishing and camping. Cheers!

There are some great camping spots in that area, the Whiskey Dick area on the other side from where you are has some great sites that you can get right down to the water. Great Video keep it up great work!
I've been meaning to explore that area more though never got the chance to yet. Is that area seasonal with gate closures? Feel like I came across it though was just before the official annual opening...

@@ConquestOverland you have to look at the maps for the green dot trails to find which ones that are open or closed based on the time of year. Some areas close down for the winter and spring due to the elk herds. As with most areas there are rules to follow but the trip is worth doing the homework to find the routes that are open, also the wind in that area can also be a experience 😀
@@ConquestOverland Just as he says, make sure you have the Green Dot Road Maps. Also, if your going through the State Park, there is a piece of paper with a phone number to call for the lock code.

Was this the weekend after Thanksgiving? We went down to the GP (the big lava flow Northwest of White Salmon) and ended up getting far more rain than we thought that Saturday!

Funny, we were in that exact spot Thanksgiving weekend. Checked out Panther Falls and Guler ice cave. So much rain.
