Hi Sarah, thanks for this video. It's very helpful. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into the different areas of CR. Hope to come to some of the beautiful places you covered soon.
WE LIVED IN CR FOR 5 YEARS during the early 2000's. Were able to purchase a home for $36,000 and do some improvements for another $15,000. The location was on the top of a mountain ridge, just north of San Ramon de Alajuela. Unfortunately, the weather in that area changed over the years, with long periods of wet fog - forcing us to purchase dehumidifiers to remove the dampness from inside our home. BE CAREFUL that you do NOT choose an area in the "Zona de neblina" (fog zone) !
Yes!! Definitely a good idea to find that happy middle place between being elevated but not too high up that your in a cloud for half of the day!
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife But then what about landslides? These kill hundreds every year in CA
@@gaiagenesis966 we do have land slides but the main issue with those are when they fall into roads. Havent heard of anyone with issues with their home up the mountain yet due to a landslide.
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife An American and his Costa Rican wife were killed in a landslide in the Southern zone about 2 weeks ago.
This is great. Thank you Sarah. You are so good with explaining all of this.
Glad it was helpful!
Super helpful thank you for taking the time to create this.
Looking forward to learning about cost rica! Thank you Sarah.
You are so welcome!
Hi Sarah Elena.
I'm writing this March 17, 2022.
Things amaze me. I have been in an out of this video when time permeants. Today I've been printing regional
maps on Pacific Coast especially around Dominical. No one seams to mention going to the central valley into
San Isidro El General sing the neat mountain road right out of Dominical about a 45 min. drive and I just jump
back in where I left off and you started talking about taking that ride. I love Dominical and enjoy all you are
doing to help others see the beauty of this country. I'm thinking through staying for 2-3 months. Getting away
from these Michigan winters.
very helpful and lots of good information. Thank you Sarah.
Glad it was helpful!
I love this video . Very nice explained . 👏👏
Saludos y bendiciones. Muy completa la información y excelente idea la de utilizar un mapa, me parece que solamente faltó el comentario acerca de Sámara y Tortuguero.
Thanks, lots of great imfo!
You really know Costa Rica very well .i am going to be moving soon to San Isidro next year .
Welcome to my home town...!
@@MyGress thank you so much 👌
Thanks for the informations!
You are very welcome!
Sara is correct, you need to figure out what life style you want. We have chosen to build in the Fortuna, San Carlos area. Very remote and quiet.
Really helpful, keep the great job 👏🏼👙🇨🇷☀️🏖
Thank you!
I have a house between Playa Tambor and Montezuma on the Nicoya Peninsula. It is definitely hot in the dry season, but not as hot as the Tamarindo area. Lots of areas to quad and miles and miles of beaches on the Pacific side. Santa Theresa is a great area if you are a surfer. Great food and unique restaurants. Check out Burrito corner
Thank you for sharing your insight on the area!
They say dogs/animals absorb our energy and pain. Hope your doggy is well by now❤️ looking to make the move to CR soon!
It turns out she actually had a large tumor and we had to put her down :( But we love and miss her very much. I hope your moving process goes very well!
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife sorry for your loss! 😢 at least she lived out her remaining years with a loving owner ❤️
Hello Mrs Sarah. I'm a Cuban American married to a Costa Rican woman. we live in New Orleans and I'm just looking for the possibility to move out to this country in the near future. I've been there three times and I love it. Thanks for sharing your story.
Hi Frank! Wonderful! You're very welcome and thank you for joining here on the channel :)
This is so awesome, mahalo nui
Montoya here.. Viva Las Vegas!
Where is the best hospital on the pacific coast of CR? And I need to know about buying good health insurance in CR.
During my time in Costa Rica, I noticed that there were few if any stray dogs in rural areas. I'm guessing that the snake population reduces the dog population if the dogs run free.
nicola peninsula has a lot of wonderful beach towns
Greeting from San Jose i like your channel
I am glad its helpful!! Greetings to you!
What retreat does your friend own?
Hola saludos cordiales desde San Ramón de Alajuela costa Rica,el clima aquí para mi es genial,.🇨🇷
San Isidro is my home town 👌👌🥰🥰
Awesome video 👍
Thank you very much Victor! :)
Thank you
Hi Sarah...hope you are well....I am living near Playa Conchal if you need any info.
I have a ( probably stupid ) question.
When I watch videos about CR, it appears most of the time the sky is very cloudy.
Is that really the case ?
Have you got some clear blue sky most of the year, or not at all ?
Thanks.
The cloud may very well be cloudy! Depending on the season. Also that is pretty nice especially if you're on the coast. When there are no clouds it really does get quite hot!! So for living here clouds are a good thing!! And they don't always mean rain
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife Well, I've spent a year in French Guyana and I didn't like the sky being always cloudy : it means the light is blinding, and you always need sun glasses.
I'm fond of clear blue sky.
It strikes me that 90% of videos I find on YT about CR show cloudy skies, be it at the beach or inland.
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife I agree! When there are not any clouds it can be scorching hot. Many people walk around with umbrellas when it's very sunny. It's very close to the equator and people from the US don't realize how strong the sun is here
Pura vidaaaaa 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
I've lived in Quepos, La Cruz, Guadalupe and now Chacarita (Puntarenas). If you have any questions about those places let me know
I am interested in taking my first trip to CR (solo) i hear the south is cheapest. So have been looking at Quepos. Wondering how to gett around from quepos to say Osa Penninsula and just in general.
Ok... Again, what city is like spring year round?
I think that would be Atenas. It is self proclaimed as the "best weather in the world."
Has anyone drunk Ayahuasca at Florestral retreat not far from Dominical?
I have not personally, but I do know others who have. You could ask this question in the facebook group for that area to get some first hand responses:

What is the COVID-19 situation in Costa Rica?
?
SUPER
I am moving there in cpl months
Nice vid. regards
I am moving to Costa Rica to ( Liberia ) will you recommend to buy a car in Costa Rica or ship it from US ?
Typically I recommend to buy here in Costa Rica however… it can’t hurt to find out how much it is to ship and how much to get something comparable here. Also it depends what type of car you want to bring. Since some makes and models may not be common here so parts could be expensive and could be difficult to find mechanics to work on them.
great video Sarah how is your dog doing?
Which one? I have two now! German sheperd and a chow chow mix rescue. The white one i had had to be put down 6 months ago :(
How do you bring your pets with you? Is it hard?
It is not difficult to bring your pets! Here is an article about what you'll need to do if you're coming from the USA. If you're coming from canada let me know and I will email you other information.

I have a vacant lot in the La Tigra area at a higher elevation because of the cooler climate. I would like to sell or trade. The property is a little over one and a third acres with phenomenal views.
$? I may have some interest.

Do you have an input on Casa Rosa?
I am not quite sure where Casa Rosa is. What area is this?
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife sorry wrong place. Its Samara.
@@JJ-mw4bk I do not know the area very well but I heard its a cute beach town that is definitely worth checking out!
What about the best place for golf courses
Los sueños in herradura near jaco has a nice golf course!
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife Thank you
So pretty
Hi sister how are you
You are so beautiful ...and Smart , too!. Love your videos !
Thanks
Oh thank you!
Hi
My dream is to move to CR close to the beach, buy a house ,and Airbnb for income. Won't happen for a few yrs but I am planning. I want to leave United States Anybody have any comments.
For the property purchase it would be nice if they already did airbnb so you can see what their general income was. Otherwise, I wish you luck!! :)
Hola
Most the capitals of 3rd countries are not safe. I know by experience
I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. Ferbendazole, the dog and goat dewormer, shrunk my dogs tumor. Hopefully you won't ever need it but its good to know. It works on humans too. Joe Tippen brought forth this knowledge. He was terminal and cured himself.
Thank you for the information!
I'm Costa Rican, why am I watching this?
I am not sure! 😆
@@SarahElenaDesignsLife I'm Costa RIcan too And I love Sarah Channel. .. Great info. Pura Vida.
nicola peninsula is safe
So I looked into temporary residency in Costa Rica and you have to have a guaranteed income of at least 1100 dollars a month in way of a pension or something like that. So any other way to live there if you just have money in the bank and 800.00 month?
How much $ in the bank? There is one type of residency where you need to show you have an income of $2,500 / month for 24 months. Some expats who put 60k USD in an account are able to show this. Best to speak with a lawyer. Feel free to email me if you'd like any recommendation !
Sarah Elena
For a married couple, would the $2,500 cover both as a family or would each partner need to make $2,500 separately?
Groovyflee I believe double for a married couple. I was waiting on a settlement from a serious car accident. But they want to go to trial. I think they’re banking on another lockdown before court which is October 13th. It’s a sure win and I would have all the money I need to relocate. I will email you soon and keep you posted.
@@nancymacavoy3427 definitely shoot me an email and I can send you more specifics on the types of residency! Sarah@lasarahelena.com

I have lived in Costa Rica for 15 years near Cartago. All your really have to say is it it not at the coast and cooler in the central valley.
That is what people want to know.
Your video could be half the time of you didn't ramble so much.
desperate for attention right?
Very true!
Very rough and choppy presentation.
Thank you for sharing
I'm sorry Sarah but you really need to work on you presentation.
I wonder how far the hospital is from the blue zone
