    Be aware Costa Rica law system encourages squatters. I have been fighting for my home for a year and the system have not help me at all. The system remove all owners rights and gives your home to the squatters. Contracts don’t have any value in this judicial system

    My family and I are moving to Costa Rica in a few months. We were there a few weeks ago and attempted to get a bank account at BAC so we would have a easier time paying our landlord. We had our passports in hand and we were told we were not able to.

    • @RedwaterPublishing
      @RedwaterPublishing 2 роки тому

      The attorney mentioned you need your passport and a utility bill showing you are renting in Costa Rica. Did you have a utility bill with a CR address? I'm curious about your experience.

    • @skypt123
      @skypt123 2 роки тому

      @@RedwaterPublishing no, but we did have our signed lease in hand. Utility bills are in the owners name for rental properties, not the tenants, so that wouldn’t be sufficient proof that we were residents.

      Yes, a lot of new requirements for corporations so do not get one unless you really need it. The attorney can do these requirements for you but once you have residency you can apply for a digital signature and do it yourself.

      You would apply for residency under spousal rights so no financial requirement. Residency is granted to the Spouse under article 73 of the Immigration Law.

    • @hernancarazo5093
      @hernancarazo5093 2 роки тому +1

      Generally you will be given a 90 day visa. After that you can make a run to the border (Nicaragua and Panamá) and go out then back in and renew. A lot of people do that and it has so far worked out for them and we call them perennial tourists.

    • @alrent2992

      For filipinas is 30 days can be extended for another 30 days. Border run after that.
